Not worth the Price - at all!!!

Overall, the property is run down, old with rickety furniture and old appliances. The stove was an old propane unit that needed matches to light the oven - must have been 30 years old. We paid A LOT of money for a month! The kitchen pots and pans were SO old, ugly old cutlery and chipped dishes and drinking glasses! In our time there, the fridge was leaking and had to be replaced, the kitchen facet broke, a lounger was replaced because it was broken, we called twice about one of the toilets which ran all the time and two outdoor chairs had to be replaced. Old and dilapidated… that was what we got!! This place needs repainting, new furniture, a kitchen and bathroom update and how about headboards on the beds? I would tell people to look around. There are better properties out there and we found one for next year! We work hard for our money to spend on vacation. This property did NOT deliver!

I wanted to refrain from responding to this review because I am always a kind, helpful and accommodating person with all my guests for whom I do everything to make sure they are satisfied, but this time I'm sorry I cannot accept this review which honestly should shame on you for having written. You arrived tired in the evening and immediately started with a series of absurd complaints saying that there were empty garbage bags under the bucket (which is normal in rented apartments) then you said that there was snot with bucket in the closet behind the boiler (obviously we leave it for customers so that if they need it they have it available) You complained that the Vater tablet was too light we replaced it the following day. On the day of your check in we had a check out of very happy customers and the fridge worked but unfortunately even the fridges can break and in fact we immediately bought you a new and even bigger one, than you said one of the Lounge Chairs it was broken and we brought you two new ones, you said the towels were dry and we bought and delivered eight new ones the same day (which you really appreciated) all the things that you requested they were immediately given to you, we cleaned your house again from top to bottom and you yourself said the next day that you felt much better and thanked me, after which you never asked nothing you never brought to my attention other problems and now you have the courage to write this review after we have done everything you asked since the beginning, we have satisfied you in everything Despite you seeing problems and having absurd needs , the mattresses in the bedrs. are both new, the baths. are in perfect condition we have just replaced all the taps in the bathrs the showers , you had Shampoo for shower hand soap and toilet paper , we provide everything absolutely nothing is missing , the sofa bed in the living room is new we buyed 2 months ago, I would like to know how bravely you were able to write this review, our kitchen is full equipped and welcoming we have wine glasses, water glasses, in glass and plastic we have soup plates and flat plates pots and cutlery in excellent condition, everything is constantly replaced , the sheets, the bedspreads, the pillows, Your review is shameful and does not correspond to what our villa offer , I m sorry I do not regret responding in tone because I know I am right and more than correct .

Sea turtles

Property manager gave us our best experience ever in Mexico. He had collected some turtle hatchlings the night before to help them grow a bit before freeing them. He let us take the baby sea turtles into the ocean after dark. Great experience! The forest (best seen from the roof) was super cool. Tons of exotic birds. Easy access to puerto Morelos for shopping and food, as well as snorkeling and fishing (maybe 10 km or so). A few small things. We all four used the same shower because one of the shower heads wasn’t well secured and wouldn’t spray correctly. It got a bit tedious because of the frequent need to wash up. Bedroom door latches did not work well, so there was usually a struggle to open and close doors. Easy fixes if you bring a screwdriver. AC worked very well. Beach was gorgeous, but you had to walk across a courtyard and down a road then up a long driveway which sometimes felt a bit strange. Almost felt like going in somebody else’s propriety. Then you must walk across a private deck to get on the beach. Awkward. It was by no means an oceanfront condo, but the forest setting made up for that. And you could get to the beach in around 5 minutes. Cool place. Beautiful beach. Tons to do. Close to puerto Morelos. Having a car is a must. If you like to cook, bring a sharp knife. I would definitely stay again.

The secret is the private deep sand beach

My family and I stayed here for 5 nights in March. I selected Playa del Secreto because I was able to see the beach on a prior visit and loved the deep sand beaches and the turquoise waves crashing on the sandy seafloor. Although We also stayed in Puerto Morelos on our trip and loved that too….but there were places in PM that had thin sand cover and the outer reef in PM prevents waves from reaching the shore. Coco’s Villa (and tbh, any of the other condos on this property) are great for a group of people that want to avoid the bulkier, crowded resorts nearby. For us, it was worth it to have a large home (with three bathrooms all with showers) and not have an ocean view. Plus, the walk to the beach is only like half a kilometer so not a big deal. We checked in with Alberto. He has three lovely dogs (I knew this in advance and approached with caution the first time I met them…but they were super friendly and great with my teenage girls). He spoke good English but also was willing to entertain my minimal Spanish. We had an issue with the outlet connected to the water heater (it kept tripping) and Alberto was very responsive and had it fixed the next day. I understand that the water heater was pretty new so I think this was a new issue. Plus, given the heat, it wasn’t really a big deal to me to take an ambient temperature shower. But it worked perfectly after Alberto fixed it. I chose Coco’s Villa because it was not connected to the other units and because of the rooftop balcony. I ended up using the rooftop balcony very little, but it was a great place to go if you needed a stronger cell connection. This house is surrounded by jungle. We saw and listened to several bird species during our stay. We also occasionally encountered small animals inside. A few baby gecko were adored by all. A cricket and a couple of spiders were easily removed. The kitchen had enough of everything to be very functional. If you plan on cooking, you might consider Saran Wrap, ziplocs, or plastic ware to store leftovers. You are provided with large water cooler. The 3 AC units (1 in each of the 2nd floor bedrooms, and 1 in the living room) worked perfectly. We ran the bedroom ones @ night. The strong winds pushed Sargasso onto the beach for the bulk of our stay. This did not affect us. You access the beach via casa chanty. This was an issue once when a guest there asked who I was. But I dealt with this quickly. The beach palapas and chairs were dope!

Great villa, quiet location

We really enjoyed our stay at Coco's Villa. The place was clean and had everything we needed. The beach is a 5 minute walk. The grounds and pool are gorgeous. The location was great for us. It is remote, though. You can't walk to restaurants or stores ... a rental car is a must here. But after a day exploring the area, we loved coming back to the serenity. We'd head up to the rooftop terrace with a margarita for a fabulous view of the sunset over the surrounding jungle. Sunrises were amazing, too ... so many birds. Check-in was easy but could've been explained a bit better. The on-site manager and staff were all very friendly and helpful. The bedrooms are close together and the doors are louvered ... don't expect a lot of privacy from your group. My one complaint is that our modem was removed one day to be used in a different villa. It was explained to us and I agreed to it, but it was a slight inconvenience.

a dream. the best we have ever experienced

Absolute peace, empty beach, super nice hosts with excellent service. We have already experienced a lot. Beautiful 5 star hotels, great beaches, all inclusive - but: mostly too few beach chairs on the beach, loud restaurants, reckless tourists - just not nice. With Coco's Villa we had a beautiful house, two floors with two bedrooms, three bathrooms, a well-equipped kitchen and a large roof terrace. In the morning there was breakfast on the lower terrace, then no 5 minutes to the lonely beach, in the evening I could conjure a delicious meal, then we sat with a well-chilled wine on the middle terrace - sounds like a dream? Cristina and Alberto, thank you for this wonderful time. That should be our last long-distance journey. That's probably changed now.
