Welcome to Makin Waves! This is a beautiful 1546 sqft, semi-secluded, pet-friendly log cabin with a fabulous indoor swimming pool. This log cabin has been elegantly and tastefully decorated with many thoughtful details and is located near Gatlinburg and all the attractions, dining and shopping found there.

Main Level:
A game room, fully equipped kitchen, dining room and living room make up the main level arrangement.

The game room features a pool table, electronic dartboard, spectator chairs and a large HD LCD TV with a DVD player. Adjoining the game room is a half bathroom and a laundry closet.
The rest of the main level has an open floor plan and vaulted windows that set the stage for the living area, fully equipped, modern kitchen and a cozy dining area with seating for four. Relax on the leather sleeper sofa and recliner to enjoy your favorite movies on a state of the art large HD LCD TV with DVD player set above the gas fireplace.

The door from the living area leads out to a roomy deck highlighting the lush forest. Savor the memories and relax in the six person hot tub located on this deck.

Upper Level:
The upper level is an open loft, thoughtfully decorated for a romantic retreat. It features a king size bed, a heart shaped jetted tub for two that sits in a cozy alcove overlooking the view and additional luxuries including a large HD LCD TV with a DVD player and a full bathroom with shower.

However, for an idyllic experience, head down to the lower level and your own private oasis. Enjoy the indoor, 8 ft x 16 ft swimming pool, with a depth of about 4 ft 6 inches. The clever design of this room includes the fossil murals and two chaise lounges that await your leisure. Out on the lower level deck there are four rocking chairs.

There is WiFi throughout the cabin and a charcoal grill just off the front porch for your convenience.

Great stay! We stayed here for new years week to get away and really enjoyed our time. We have a family member with a severe allergy and requested the cabin to be well cleaned and they certainly delivered. The cabin was very very clean.The pool was perfect for a vacation of just getting away and relaxing. The cabin does feel a little dated with the decor but for the price I would say it’s just fine. Carpet areas were great. Some of the appliances were dated as well but once again for the price we paid no real complaints. We had to call the office to figure out how to get the hot tub warm and they were super responsive and kind, even checking in on our family member with an allergy. I will say if you need WiFi it is spotty at best but we were looking to unplug. Great management company will be looking to book with them again!

Was a beautiful, fun cabin to stay in

Whether it’s snuggling on the couch enjoying the fire while watching a movie, taking a dip in the pool, soaking in the jacuzzi, or relaxing in the heart shaped hot tub this place has everything. We enjoyed every minute of it and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get away from it all in this secluded cabin.

Making waves

Everything was very nice . We would definitely stay again . Only down fall is absolutely no cell service (Verizon) and we never got the WI-FI to work very good . But honestly it’s a mini vacation no bell service was kinda peaceful lol .

When we checked in on Friday, we were extremely disappointed. Dishes were left in the dishwasher, cabin was not clean. The electronic dartboard did not work, nor were there any darts for it. I notified property management and they stated they would have the cleaners come back out and have a technician come out for the dartboard. We tried to get in the hot tub, but it didn't have enough water in it to use it. Our first night was a complete failure. We should be reimbursed for it. Saturday morning we were awakened by someone installing an alarm on the inside pool, which we had no idea this was going to happen. The cleaners showed up around noon and cleaned, they also filled the hot tub. Privacy for our anniversary weekend was out the door. Saturday night was ok and Sunday was ok. The tv in the bedroom would only come on half the time. There are no views at this cabin, and if there were, the windows would need a good cleaning to see them.

Romantic Getaway

My husband and I just loved this place! It was in a convenient location close to everything, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It was the perfect spot to spend our honeymoon! The cabin was dusty in a few places and we saw some cob webs and dead bugs, but we were in a wooded area where that is to be expected. The hot tub, jacuzzi tub, and pool were just what we were looking for to relax and unwind after days of sightseeing and enjoying all the activities of the day. Would definitely recommend this place to others, and we loved and enjoyed our stay at Makin Waves!

Awesome stay!

The only issue we had was we didn't get the code to get in the property until 6pm, 2 hours after our check in time. I had to call twice to get it, nobody got ahold of me. Other than that everything was great!

Great Get Away

The cabin was the perfect fit for our family of 3. Very clean cabin. We all enjoyed the indoor pool after a long hike in the cold. Quick 10 minute drive into Gatlinburg however a bit longer drive to get into pigeon forge. It was off the beaten path and secluded which was perfect. However we had no cell phone service at the cabin and the Wifi would not connect. I attempted to message the management through vrbo once in town to trouble shoot but they never responded.

Wasted money

We saved up to stay at this place. Hot tub did not work and had a green scum all over it. Was told that was pollen. It was mildew. Toilet on main level hadn't been cleaned in ages. It was covered in mildew. Swimming pool room was a science project. We stayed one night and left and took a loss(because service manager couldn't find a replacement place and didnt seem to eager to help) to rent from another company( cabins for you)

Bad Experience

When we arrived at 4:15pm Monday, we had no service to get the code for the door. Then when we drove away from property and got the code, we drove back, code didn’t work. They finally unlocked it remotely, and we were not able to lock it back when we left to go somewhere. I called for two days straight to get them to come out nothing. Then, I was able to use the Wi-Fi for internet so I could do my work, there is no box for the internet at the cabin. Pool in the cabin was nice I will say that, but it put me 2 days behind on my work. Not worth the cost I would say.

Cabin was cool, timber tops staff was not!

The cabin was okay, pretty clean, and the location was good. There was no internet however, despite being advertised. We tele-commute, and this was a huge problem for us. Timber Tops staff was unconcerned with our need for internet to do our jobs and lied repeatedly to us about why the internet was not working. It was out for our entire stay. After claiming to try to reach the cabin owner, and not calling us back with any updates, the staff finally said the issue was an outage in the area. After calling the internet provider, they reported no outages in the area. We contacted Timber tops staff and informed them that we contacted the internet provider. They assured the internet would be working by days end. That was day 3 of our stay and at check out on day 5, still no internet and not even a call/update from Timber Tops staff. Very unprofessional and seemingly unconcerned with the experience of guests. Would not rent through them again.

No internet - no cell coverage - no view - horrible mistake to rent.

Listing showed internet but upon arrival we discovered there was none. And zero cell coverage (AT&T or Verizon) or landline. Had to travel 12 minutes away just to call the management company (very friendly and understanding but acknowledged the internet was a known problem well before we arrived and did not notify us in advance or during check in). There was literally no way to make an emergency call aside from smoke signals (and considering the fireplace was ‘closed for the season’ that wasn’t even an option). The owner and management company knew this in advance and opted to not tell us. The hot tub also didn’t work (87 degrees when we arrived - 87 degrees when we left) so we didn’t even get to use that. I noticed after the fact that previous renter noted the same (posted after our arrival) and response suggested it was addressed - it wasn’t. We stayed one night (were scheduled for 10) because we arrived late and had no choice. We couldn’t reach Timber Tops until the following morning. We canceled the remainder of our stay (thanks for ruining our 30th anniversary) and were refunded all but the one night (plus booking fee, and cleaning fee, and, and, and…) so spending about 10 hours there cost us over eleven hundred dollars. The cabin itself: poolroom was hot and the pool was cold. Kind of a creepy room in person BTW. The sole bed was reasonably comfortable but tv channels were basic only - what you might expect from a cheap motel. The cabin itself was clean and reasonably comfortable but absolutely zero basic initial needs were provided (soap, shampoo, initial coffee, etc) so less than you would expect from a cheap motel. Get the picture? We have been going to the Smokies for 30 years. Early on we couldn’t afford more than a one room cabin but as we got older, we have been lucky enough to upgrade over the years. Nothing about this place should be considered an ‘upgrade’ and unless you just robbed a bank (a bank with a lot of money) and need a hideout, I would highly recommend avoiding this place. Oh also, microwave turntable doesn’t actually turn (superheats food on one spot while the rest stays frozen) and the ice maker doesn’t dispense ice (and the tray is also screwed into the freeze so you can only grab a few pieces at a time). This review may seem like something from a disgruntled employee but I assure you every word is true. If I were being completely honest, this review would be much more colorful but unfit for public consumption.
