Quiet and Peaceful Santa Fe - 3 Bedroom, 2 Bath, Mountain Views on Greenbelt
About Jessica Wesolek
I am a Santa Fe artist and gallery owner who bought this house with my mother and brother in 2010 so my mother could live close-by. This was wonderful until she got homesick for Michigan, and moved back to her home town. We have kept the house as a family guest house and studio/getaway for me, but we also share this wonderful space with others who appreciate a quiet getaway that is also only 15 minutes by car from the center of Santa Fe.

Why Jessica Wesolek chose Eldorado at Santa Fe
When we shopped for a home for my Mom, we were looking for a perfect little "castle", and that is what Casa Artista looks like as you drive up the road. It is perfectly sited on a rise and has wonderful views in every direction. My main home is also in Eldorado - just 5 minutes away - and I love this community for its beauty and serenity. Eldorado used to be a huge ranch and when it was sold for development, there were many covenants put in place to keep the low profile, natural rolling, landscape looking unscathed. All architecture is one story, Pueblo or Territorial style, adobe colored, and blends beautifully into the natural surroundings. All power and phone lines are buried so nothing obscures your views, and the protected night sky is even more surreal than the amazing sunsets and cloud formations of the Santa Fe area.
What makes this House unique
This is a special space. Every guest who has stayed with us for the past four years has remarked on the fact that they felt so safe and happy there. It has been called a healing space and a place of serenity and calm.

New year trip 2020
We had a blast and we appreciated the art the house offered. Our only complaint is the beds, they were all a little sunk in and too soft for my families liking but that is solely an opinion. We enjoyed the open floor plan and the view of the stars at night.
Thanks, Isidro, and we are so glad you had a good time. As for the beds, some like them firm and some soft. We had to make a choice and we went with "luxury" bedding with pillow top mattresses and 4 inch memory foam on top of that. You definitely do "sink in" a bit. This is our first "firm" request, so I think we took the right path, but I'm sorry we couldn't have had that just right for you too. Happy New Year and travel safe.
I rented this house for family coming to town for a reunion. It is charming, comfortable, my family loved it.
Jessica was awesome. The art in the house interesting and the flowers in yard lovely.
We would definitely recommend this peaceful retreat.
I love it when our Casa is a part of happy family get togethers, and am so happy your family loved their stay. We would certainly welcome them back anytime.
Clean and quiet
The weather was quite hot while we were there so the lack of central air was a bit of a problem. Otherwise the house is nice and the neighborhood is quiet.
90% of houses in Santa Fe do not have central air conditioning because only the newest houses are built with ducting because forced air systems are not the norm.. We operate on radiant heat in the floor and window air conditioners. We have the highest power (18,000 btu's) air conditioner in the house and it works fine. There have been no other complaints. Also, during this stay, there were late afternoon thunderstorms (normal during monsoon season) which dropped the temperatures to comfortable levels and overnight lows were 59º. Opening a window would have gone a long way toward staying cool. We do not have "central air conditioning" in our property description.
Peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle of town. It was an Oasis of relaxation and we'll definitely be back.
Thank you, Cathy. It was a pleasure to meet and host you and your family! Hope to see you again.
Great place to relax!
Nice house in a relaxing setting
Our family stayed at Casa Artista over Spring Break. It fit what we wanted in our trip to Santa Fe perfectly. It is very comfortable and quiet, perfect for relaxing after hiking and visiting museums. It is about 10 minutes from town, but has a nice small shopping center nearby. The privacy, open space and night sky makes it a great place to relax. While it isn't in Santa Fe proper it is close enough that it is convenient, but offers the ability to experience nature and the open space which also makes New Mexico a special place.
The owner, Jessica, was very helpful and met us there to give us a brief personal tour. We've stayed in a lot of VRBO & HomeAway properties and this is possibly the nicest and most well equipped. The quality of the kitchen utensils, dishes, appliances, and beds was appreciated.
The owner has bird feeders and a fountain on the porch which resulted in great bird watching with morning coffee.
Overall this house is a great place to stay and relax during a trip to Santa Fe. I would recommend Casa Artista and would gladly stay again on a return trip.
