CAYO LOCO, though newly built, captures the 'old' Bahamian beach house feel looking over the surf to maximize the views and ocean breezes. Step onto your gorgeous, private, crescent shaped Atlantic Ocean pink sand beach and stroll in either direction for miles. You may spend your entire visit here and never see another person on your beach. Our beach has indescribably clear turquoise water with a flat pink sand beach. It is a perfect walking swimming beach!! We also installed a brand new 32" TV.

No Smoking/No Children/No Pets/No Unregistered Guests/No Loud Music/No Open Flames as we basically have no Fire Dept.

A little piece of heaven

We loved staying at Caya Loco. Deserted beach and privacy- but also felt well looked after from a distance. The house is adorable- and just right for 2. Great water pressure and AC! Close to all the best places to eat! Thank you!

Upon arrival to the property, the remote to open the locked gate was missing and I hadvto walk down a road in the dark, knocking on neighborhood house doors until I found someone who would allow me to borrow their phone since I had no wifi signal. The next issue was needing to call for replacement of bed pillows because they were rank. Also, the diashes were sticky and needed to be washed before use.Other than the above the accommodations were fine, although not comfortable for an older couple.

Amazing place

This place is perfect for couples or even a solo visit in the magic place that is Eleuthera. You are perched right on a point above the rolling blue atlantic and a pristine beach. It has everything you need, and the property manager is fantastic. It is also just a quick walk down the beach to Pascal's, a wonderful pool bar. A+

Stunning Paradise

This place was an absolute dream. One of the most beautiful views & beaches I have ever seen. We could barely pull ourselves away from the property since it was so perfect. Miles of beach with no people. gorgeous water, fine white sand. The hosts were lovely & the cottage has everything we needed. Nice to know that places like this still exist.

The Perfect Choice!

Cayo Loco is the nicest place I have ever stayed at in the Caribbean. With that said, I think it is only fair to write about the pros and cons when reviewing an accommodation. So let’s begin with the pros. This is a beautifully appointment cottage overlooking a wonderful beach. The inside of the cottage is perfect. It is comfortable and has everything you need. The bed was comfy, the shower spacious, the kitchen was cozy and perfect for preparing a meal, but the best part was the porch…It was to die for. I spent a lot of time on the lounge chair staring at the view and enjoying the breeze every day. Maureen and Allen were perfect hosts. They were available when you wanted to ask a question (and Maureen is wealth of knowledge so make sure to tap into that resource) and never a bother. Maureen adds the personal touches that are so appreciated. We were celebrating an anniversary and she made it very special. Now for the cons…....there aren’t any. For real! I hope we are lucky enough to get to Cayo Loco again in our travels.

Peaceful & romantic! The owners are wonderful and so very accommodating!

We stayed at Cayo Loco back in May of 2012 where my husband & I decided to get married right in front of the most adorable cottage of Cayo Loco. We did not bring family, so Maureen & Allen (owners) were kind enough to be apart of special day and be our witnesses. Maureen surprised me with a bouquet of flowers right from her yard to hold while we got married. Allen stood by my side and gave me away. Our first experience on Eleuthera was so very special because of the owners of Cayo Loco. The cottage is clean, super cute, open and airy to the ocean air. There is everything you need at the cottage, you can cook in house or go out each night. The ocean sounds will lull you to sleep each night. The sand is pink and soft and feels oh so good between your toes. The water is a delight to lounge in or simply play in. You can walk forever either direction and be alone the entire time. If you want some company or sit out by a pool and have a drink, you can walk just down the beach a bit and find Sky Beach Bar. We rented a car from Kean Stubbs and have become friends with his family. Highly recommend a car if you want to explore. We can't say enough good things about Cayo Loco. We will definitely be back, already counting the days.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My wife and I stayed for a week at Cayo Loco, a great beach bungalow a few miles north of Governor’s Harbor. The setting is pretty amazing as you have a sweeping view of the Atlantic with a few steps down to a gorgeous mostly deserted beach. We found that staying on this side of the island has many advantages including a nice breeze which keeps the bugs away and humidity much lower. You are less than a ten minute walk to Pascal’s which has good dinners and an amazing bartender named Sammy. The actual unit was delightful. The bed was comfortable (we are pretty particular about that), the shower was great and everything in the place was well planned. Sitting on the deck in the afternoons or the evenings was magical. The sunrises are incredible. The owners have this process down as they help you as much or as little as you wish. They even send you videos on how to get to the unit before you arrive. We may regret this when we go to rent the place again next year, but we give Cayo Loco the highest rating we can. If you get the chance to stay here, do it!

This place was just what we wanted - it was clean and well maintained and the king size bed was very comfortable, the cottage was directly on a beautiful beach with amazing views of the water, you could walk on the beach and rarely see another person, and it was very quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. I loved sitting out on the deck and reading. It was quite windy for several days so we explored the island and found calm water on the Caribbean side. They had nice beach chairs and a cooler we used on our adventures around the island. We went snorkeling at Twin Coves beach and saw sea turtles. Ten Bay beach was beautiful with some shade from trees. We walked to Pascals for several good meals and took out yummy sandwiches from Bacchus Fine Foods for eating lunch at the beaches. The hosts were wonderful and Jeremy, Anna, and Alton were very helpful and set us up with a rental car. We were very happy with the entire experience, and we would definitely stay at Cayo Loco again if we come back!

We had a wonderful time staying at Cayo Loco. We slept with the windows open every night and had a fabulous breeze. We walked down to Pascals and had great burgers for dinner. The beach was beautiful and quiet and when calm, the snorkeling was amazing. The house was stocked if you want to cook. The grocery items can be limited so if you have special dietary requirements, you may want to bring some of your own items. The grocery store on the south side of the island was well stocked and had more options than the local grocers. We loved staying here and will be back!

Superlatives Abound!

This is an amazing rental! We love Maureen; she is delightful. The cottage is darling and light and airy and sits right above one of the most gorgeous beaches you will find anywhere. We strolled forever along the shore and only saw a handful of other people In the distance. The bed is excellent, unlike many rentals here, and the Linens are high quality. The kitchen has everything you need and quite a few restaurants Are nearby, one that you can walk to along to on the beach. There is a raised lounging bed on the deck where you can relax And enjoy the beautiful view and the fresh breezes. You will hardly be able to tear yourself away. Heavenly!

Simply Spectacular, Great View, Wonderful Place

Such a serene setting! You are looking directly onto a beautiful beach (one of the best on the island in my opinion) and one that you don't really see many people on. The island was so great and we are glad we had information from the owners about the island, very thorough and thought out what they've done here. They are lovely by the way and have thought of everything to make the stay as enjoyable as possible. They seem to truly care which you don't find all the time. There are also restaurants not too far away, Leo's being one of our favorites. You also aren't far from great beaches and can a lovely town Governor's Harbour is a few minutes away event though it feels like you are so far away from anything due to how peaceful it is. We'd definitely recommend this place!
