Beautiful views at sunset

Our family had a great time together visiting NASA, Galveston, and Kemah Boardwalk. The location was perfect and the views from the deck and pool were stunning. The only reason I didn't leave 5 stars was because there was some major construction on the property and the contractor was still working on some elements, such as the kitchen. I left private feedback for the owner. But I have no doubt that the house will be incredible once construction is completed.

Girls Weekend Retreat

We were disappointed with the property. The pictures online are very deceiving. Showed bigger pool.....3 hammocks that weren't there. Door that leads from breakfast area to outside patio would not stay shut. We had to put something in front of it the whole weekend. The door from the formal dining area that leads out to the pool area was coming apart on the door jam and trim. The A/C unit was not working right....very warm in the house. The filters when we checked them had caked on dust and dirt and looked like they had not been changed out in a year or more. The railing on the stairway was wobbly and loose. The railing out the master bathroom was broken and a liability if someone leaned on it and fell. The oven in the kitchen did not work and the owner said he had been dealing with repair man for months. We depended on the oven for our meals. We had to use the rickety bbq grill that was filthy and almost caught on fire because of the cheap grease catcher that dripped grease onto the propane bottle. There was no microwave as promised. The bluetooth did not work and the interior speakers were blown. The master shower would clog up every time you showered. The toilet in the hallway ran constantly. After explaining all this to the owner, we still did not get any compensation. We have been using VRBO twice a year for several years now. Two other times we had some minor issues with a home and we were compensated. I do not recommend this place until all is fixed and working correctly. SS

Susan, the homeowner would like to share the following message: "So sorry for any inconveniences that you may have had during your stay. As I recall shortly after your arrival, you called my daughter to come over and help you with the door not staying closed and a wobbly chair. My son-in-law went over and tightened up the chair and showed you how to operate the door. While he was there one of the guests mentioned the Bluetooth was not working and he informed them that they would have to go to settings on her phone and turn on Bluetooth. Not sure what you are referring to about the door coming apart on the door jam and trim. As for the A/C not working, we have two thermostats, but you may have only had one of them turned on. I also confirmed that the A/C does cool the house and all filters are clean. The railing on the master bathroom is secure and solid. I notified you before your stay that the oven didn't work. It has since been repaired. As for the barbeque grill, there were two of them, a smaller one and a medium-sized one. Both of them were in working order. Since your stay, we've purchased a new larger grill. I believe you were told that my daughter had a microwave and that she would bring it over if you wanted it. Since this time we do have two microwaves. One in the kitchen and one upstairs in the family room. You mentioned the interior speakers being blown. We have not replaced them and they seem to be working now. You also mentioned the shower not draining and a toilet continually running. They both seem to be working as well. As is evidenced by my other reviews, no one has claimed anything before your stay or after regarding these issues." Best, the Evolve Team

Lovely home on beautiful property

My family truly enjoyed our stay. The house was large and spacious so everyone as able to be together yet spread out. The property was amazing - pool, hot tub and on the water. We took several walks around the neighborhood and found the parks, tennis courts, etc. The house is a bit dated and need of some minor repairs but all-in-all it was wonderful. The host was very responsive and answered immediately when we texted with a need or a question.

Property was beautiful some needed upgrade, more cooking items ( pots and pans) we couldn’t swim ducks where I. The pool the hold time tried to get them out no success.

Girls getaway

The view was breathtaking from all angles of the house ..We enjoyed the pool,the overall cleanliness of the property the family of ducks that would visit every morning.We didn’t have a iron and the property manager was so kind she took the time out of her day and dropped one off for us while we we out for a bite to eat :)It was 9 of of us in the home and not one complaint we had enough restrooms,space,etc I would definitely recommend this place to anyone .

Beautiful Home

The home was beautiful inside and out and in a very beautiful neighborhood. There were a few occurrences where I thought in my head “that could have been cleaned better”. Also the balcony in the master bedroom looks like it needs attention I didn’t and wouldn’t lean on that thing. Overall my stay was good, property contacts answered questions and were friendly. I loved the pool it was a beautiful scene. I would also recommend some type of pool cover for the moths get really bad every night and scooping them out everyday was annoying. Rooms were huge and sheets were cleaned. I give my stay a 4/5.

Covid concerns heightened

I should received a return of the cleaning fee as my girls and I cleaned this very large home when we arrived because it was not clean. The sanitation was lacking in kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms. The refridgerator interior was gross to the point where I took pictures to send to the owner. I was extremely uncomfortable with being in a home that was not thoroughly cleaned after the previous guests especially since I previously requested that the owner ensure that COVID sanitation protocol were followed. Also upon arrival the pool was dirty so I immediately felt that my vacation was going to be off to a bad start. The owner informed me that the pool was cleaned every Thursday which I thought was ridiculous and extremely problematic when you don't clean the pool prior to the rental for the next guest. A pool guy came out that evening as I was not willing to wait to have the pool cleaned since I was checking in on Monday & leaving Friday. We were not able to use the pool until around 11pm or so after it was cleaned. There was an extra fee to heat up the hot tub, which is ridiculous since it is advertised as "hot" tub and pool. I was considering paying for it until I actually got to the property to observe the condition of the home & pool. The owner never offered to provide any monies or make amends for these things. It's a big house in a beautiful area but if you are accustomed to cleanliness, luxury and the service expectations of a "premiere property " then don't book this home based on the our experience with conditions & amenities this is NOT that place!

Hi Qiana, we want our guests to arrive at a vacation home that is 100% ready for their stay, so we take the cleanliness of our properties seriously. We followed up with the homeowner, who was surprised by your comments. His property manager had stopped by before your arrival and found no issues. He did let us know that the fridge had liquid under the glass that the cleaning crew wasn't able to reach. They have since disassembled the fridge and wiped down the hard-to-reach areas. The pool is professionally cleaned each week, but the owner informed us that he sent someone out to clean it right away after you reached out. He was told that the pool was ready to swim in earlier; we're sorry for the miscommunication between you and the cleaner. We do note in the listing that there is an additional fee to heat the hot tub, but we're sorry if this caught you off guard. We hope the prompt response from the owner, along with his offer to waive the heating fee, helped make up for some of the inconvenience you felt. He works hard to provide his guests with five-star stays.

Evolve is horrible

Everything about property was awesome and contact person was too. Working with Evolve is horrible, I will never use them again. Can't ever reach them, you stay on hold forever and then it just hangs up on you. Started out with Vrbo and some how it ended up being Evolve. We have used Vrbo before and had no problems...but Evolve is a whole different story. We tried off and on for a couple of months because of the covid situation, finally got a call back about a week before we were supposed to arrive at the rental, of course, by then it was too late to do anything. Evolve needs to work on customer service!

Great Location and property

This house is located very close to Johnson Space Center and is located in a very nice neighborhood. The view from the pool over the lake is better in person and i would recommend this property to other travelers considering this area.

Perfect holiday stay

This was the perfect home for our family Thanksgiving get-together. The location could not have been better. The family enjoyed the pool, hot tub, nearby park and just gathering out on the patio taking in the peaceful views. The beds were comfy and the kitchen was well stocked. Beautiful property and amazing property manager

This property was absolutely gorgeous, even better than the pictures. Check-in process was easy and the property manager did an amazing job with communication. They were quick to respond and always seemed available, we definitely appreciated it. The house is situated less than a 5 minute drive to NASA and the rooms were spacious and clean. We did ask for additional blankets but the property manager came right over and supplied those for us. Linens and towels were provided and clean which is the best when in a renting situation. We did have a couple issues while we were here. The oven was broken and due to be installed the second day of our stay. Unfortunately, due to circumstances outside of the property manager's control, it was delayed until the third day of our visit and was then installed incorrectly so we spent the entire visit without a stove and had to wait for the property manager to drop off a microwave mid-way through since that was also broken with the installation. Definitely a bummer since the kitchen was one of the reasons we chose the house. The kitchen also could have been better stocked from a pots/pans perspective, so not quite the "fully equipped gourmet kitchen" we were promised. In order to turn on the hot tub and outdoor lighting, we needed to text the property manager which was a bit uncomfortable especially when we were out late (and made us feel guilty). That being said, they were always quick to respond and turn them on so that process wasn't awful. Overall, this property and the property manager(s) are amazing. The views are gorgeous, the house is wonderful, and our experience was great. The couple of issues we did encounter, I'm sure, have been fixed. We would definitely come back again if we are ever in the Houston area.

Nice house

This home was beautiful and in a beautiful location. We had plenty of towels and place for our whole family to be. The pool and patio area a beautiful and the home is very spacious. The location to NASA can not be beat! Over all we liked the house and our stay. There are a few things that renters should be aware of, nothing major but things I think you should know and that I would have liked to know. There is NO grill and when were there the oven was broken this made cooking a challenge. The water closet door in the master bathroom does not close, we used the trash can to keep it shut. The doors are tricky to open and hard to lock, not a big deal except for when you are traveling with kids. There are two TV's in the home 1 in the master bedroom and the second in the second floor "kids" room, the room with the bunk beds. I only mention this again if you are traveling with kids that may need to go to bed it becomes difficult for anyone else to watch TV. The railing on the master balcony is very badly rusted and is actually broken at the bottom in some spots. Lastly the hot tub can only be turned on remotely when you text the manager, to turn it on then off later, sort of strange. The manager of the property was very responsive and quick to help with all our needs.

The home is ideally situated on a private bay with a great pool and spa area. The only suggestion was to have a TV viewing area downstairs but the game room upstairs was really nice! Heather is fabulous and was so responsive! Definitely check this home out!
