About this property
BEACH-STYLE AMBIENCE & RUSTIC CHARM
Ironbark is a classic, low-key, single-level, Western Red Cedar beach house in a quiet street in Jan Juc Village, the more rural and treed area of Torquay.
The interior of Ironbark is light with large windows and garden views. The home is furnished and decorated in a comfortable and relaxed beach style. There is interesting and fun artwork on the walls. It has a rustic, yet at the same time, modern ambience and modern conveniences.
You will definitely feel you are out of the city and suburbs and the architecture and busy-ness of those environments and in the easy-going, relaxed atmosphere of the beach and countryside. See if you can spot the distant sea view on the horizon.
This is a family beach house and is set in a large (668m2) Australian native bush-style garden with many trees. The property is secure with a high front fence and gates that can be securely closed for child safety.
The home is much-loved and regularly used by the owner and is therefore well-maintained and kept clean and attractive and is very well-equipped.
The spacious open-plan living area has a wood fire for Winter, a reverse cycle air conditioner/heater and includes a T.V. seating area, a second seating area that has views of the garden, a study desk, a full kitchen with dishwasher and adjacent dining area with Grandma’s charming retro 1960s kitchen dresser and dining table for six. There is a separate laundry with tub and washing machine and a clothes line and clothes airers.
All the living areas receive the afternoon sunshine and there are outdoor blinds on north and west-facing windows for protection on hot Summer days.
The comfortable bedrooms - two with the morning sun, the third with views of the front garden - are carpeted, have quality beds, built-in wardrobes, chests of drawers, quality sheets, doonas (feather & down in Winter), pure wool blankets, pillows and also electric blankets for the cooler months.
The master bedroom has a King-sized bed and a semi-ensuite bathroom. Bedroom 2 has 2 Single beds and Bedroom 3 has a Queen-sized bed. The semi-ensuite bathroom has a full-sized bath, a separate shower, a new, modern vanity unit with basin and mirror and a toilet. There is also a separate second toilet and modern vanity unit with basin and mirror.
For your outdoor relaxation amongst the trees there is a family-sized table with 6 chairs, an outdoor umbrella, a lounge chair, 2 bench seats with coffee table.
There is a smaller table with chairs on the west-facing verandah for enjoying drinks at sunset. Enjoy a meal or a drink outside while listening to the native birds.
All who stay at Ironbark enjoy the large garden, the spacious open-plan living areas and the understated charm and relaxing beach-style ambience!

About the host
Hosted by Glenda

Ironbark has been in the Hansen family since it was built in 1989 as a
traditional, Western Red Cedar, Jan Juc-style beach house. It was love at first sight! There are many happy memories of times spent with family and friends over the 30+ years of holidays at Ironbark.
The family loves coming to Jan Juc and over the years the large native garden has been developed, there have been improvements, modernisations and renovations done to add to the facilities and make the house as comfortable as possible. The bustle of the city is easily left behind in the low-key comfort and restful simplicity of Ironbark.
We hope our guests spend a comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable time at Ironbark during their stay and make many happy memories also.
