We had the best stay at their home. We ran into some minor issues after checking in but after messaging the host they responded within minutes and immediately had the issues resolved. The location was just minutes from the slopes which we loved and had plenty of room outside for the kids to play. We plan to visit again!
We booked a trip in lieu of gifts for our kids. The property exceeded our expectations! The house was larger than we expected, and with a family of six, it was perfect! The house was fully stocked with everything we needed and the owners were very responsive! It was even decorated for Christmas! Snow on Christmas day made our trip perfect…
We booked this property for a fishing trip over Memorial Day weekend. It’s location was ideal…a short drive to the lake. When the fish weren’t biting it was an easy drive to Taos, Red River and Angel Fire.
Such an excellent experience. The house was fully stocked and we were super close to everything. The house itself was perfect. We were just far enough away to have privacy! Thanks again for an amazing experience!
This house was perfect for us! We had a group of 7 guys there and everything was great. We all loved the location and the cozy feeling of the house. I highly recommend staying here!
Our two families totaling 8 stayed for three days right after Christmas. The house is perfectly located between Angel Fire and Eagle Nest. Our kids enjoyed snowboarding, tubing, and sledding while there. The house has everything you need for a nice stay and the roads, driveway, and patio were clear of snow. Thanks for sharing your house with us!
Great place, wide open. We were a group of 7 and we never felt cramped. The furniture and decor was nice. We used the kitchen every night and it was a good size to cook in. Just outside of Angelfire but a really short drive to the ski area. Our group would definitely stay here again if available
We had a lovely stay at The Nest. It was beautiful and located in a valley across from Eagle Nest Lake. The guys in our family enjoyed fly fishing in the Cimarron River and the park was beautiful. We'd love to return! We were able to shop in Taos and eat at Morning Star cafe in Angel Fire twice. Really good food and the owners were wonderful. Thanks for allowing us to stay at The Nest!
The cabin was everything we hoped for. When we walked in we were surprised by how much larger it was. There were numerous Christmas trees lit up and it just had a real cozy feel.
Worked well for our two couples and other family members. Kitchen well appointed but we couldn't get the Cuisinart coffee maker to heat water. Beautiful views out the window with very easy access from the highway.
Beautiful property and the hosts have stocked kitchen pans, game cabinets, and linens for ease of staying. With 2 families staying, we used the kitchen every night and never had a problem with finding the right appliance. Right down the road from either Red River or Angel Fire, we made the most of our week by being just a few minutes from either destination. We will definitely be back!
All five of us loved staying at the nest. The kitchen is very well equipped and had everything that we needed to be able to cook most of our meals. It was the perfect place to stay in order for us to make day trips into Red River, the Rio Grande de Norte National Monument Area, Taos, etc. We also took a day to fish the Cimarron River. The hosts promptly answered any question that we had. Check in was easy, and we enjoyed watching the Prairie dogs from the deck. The beds were very comfortable. My 5 year old grandson was excited about one bedroom having bunk beds. The next time that we are in this part of the United States, we would definitely like to stay here again. Thank you!!

Dead mouse in house
When we walked in, there was a horrible smell. We found a dead mouse in the house and had to get rid of it. The horrible smell lingered throughout our stay. Also, the bathrooms were dirty, and we had to change out two lightbulbs that were not working. I would recommend cleaning the home properly before each guest arrives. We will not be staying here in the future. I=

Family was disappointed
The house is very cute with a great view of the lake. That being said it was very dirty. Cleaning crew has not been keeping up on the property. The whole house was filled with the smell of a dead rodent in utility area. Had to remove it ourselves and air out house. The porch was covered in bird waste and cigarette butts not cleaned up on porch. House was also poorly furnished compared to other vrbos we have stayed at. Pans where mostly old scratched up cheap Teflon. There was only one roll of paper towels. No filters for coffee pot. I would say with a better cleaning crew and a better stocked kitchen this place would be awesome.
Let me just say the ratings and reviews need to be 10 for this house!! Everything was perfect!! We traveled with two families with people ages 70-1 and EVERYONE loved the home! The house is plenty stocked with everything you would need! We didn’t run out of anything!! It was decorated so pretty for Christmas! Nice and cozy! I love the open area! It allowed 8 people plus an infant plenty of room to relax and have a great time!!There was even a high chair for the baby! We played the games they had for us and it was so fun!We cooked just like we were at home. The property is beautiful! It was thick with snow and our family had an amazing time playing!! The view is breathtaking! We were worried about the snow since we are from Texas but it was easy to drive in without 4wheel drive. We went to the resort to go sled and tubing. We visited Red River to see the light show and fireworks. Red River is a nice place to shop and the brewery there is really nice! You drive in the mountains to get to Red River and it started snowing bad which was a little scary. I would not recommend eating in Angel Fire it was not the best in our opinion and the restaurants we visited they charge 20%gratuity with 5 or more people (which is fine) BUT they don’t allow you to slit your check. So that made things a bit complicated when you are traveling with 2 families. So we just decided to cook at the house. We did eat at the brewery in Red River and they allowed us to split the ticket. Overall perfect house!
This place was perfect for our family! It was clean, spacious, and well-stocked. The scenery was beautiful and the ski area was only about 10 minutes away. We will definitely be back!
It was a great house and beautiful view! The house was exactly as pictured and the check in and out was very easy. Will be staying there again next year?
The location was beautiful, the mountains are right outside your front door. It was beautifully decorated and just the aesthetic we were looking for on our ski trip. The home was nice and roomy and the land was a plus the kids could play with no worries of traffic. The owners were super easy to get ahold of if we had any concerns. Plenty of cookware and available utilities needed to function with a larger family so we didn’t have to eat out everyday. We definitely plan on rebooking with them again and making this a yearly visit.
The Nest is beautifully situated and thoughtfully well appointed including location appropriate books and interior decoration. The kitchen worked well for our family of six. Comfortable beds, everchanging views, good floor plan, and a great jumping off point for surrounding activities. Check in and communication couldn't have been easier. We cannot wait to come back!
