Discover our charming home situated near the globally acclaimed Whartons Bay, with its crystal-clear waters, and the Cape Legrand National Park close to Condingup, just a 30-minute drive east of Esperance. Our residence is an ideal retreat for families, couples, and nature lovers. Our property is a sanctuary for bird enthusiasts, and a variety of animals freely wander our grounds.
A brief walk will take you to the local tavern, an ideal place to unwind with a substantial meal, sample wines at the nearby vineyard, or simply relax on the patio amidst the natural splendour of our setting. Access to certain areas of our property is limited to guarantee your privacy and the welfare of our animals. The front yard is expansive and fenced for your pleasure.

As this is a hobby farm, I live quietly on the property to care for numerous matters. If you prefer a place without a resident caretaker, this may not be the right fit for you.

Extra bedrooms are opened according to the number of guests, with all rooms available for bookings of up to six people.
(Dogs only on approval and must be kept on a leash when outdoors and Cat-friendly!!)

Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish

Please donot allow your dog to pee or poo on the front lawn. This discolors the lawn and looks bad.
No beach gear including boards on lawns thank you.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
No pets, food, or drinks into restricted areas as they can damage and soil the carpets. A significant fee will be charged for non-compliance.
We are non-smokers and request that you do not leave cigarette butts on the ground. An ashtray is provided near the BBQ area for your convenience.
Keep doors and screens closed due to unwanted flies. Evenings may be fine, but beware of mosquitoes. Remember to turn off lights and air conditioner.

Hidden little gem !

Thank you Alison for staying with us, I tell the city folk the distance when you think about it is like going from A to B in the big smoke which can take a hour in traffic. It's a lovely drive and close to the best beaches world wide.

Good experience in country town

It was different experience in county town and accommodation was good. Bit restrictive because of pet and kids in some are of the house. Overall good place to visit and stay.

Great location for a family get away . Owners Marie and Sunny were lovely and accommodating. House was very clean. Only down fall was the Shower not having much pressure and only having to use the hot water tap as it wasn't very hot. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay . Wharton's Beach 10mins down the road was amazing.

Recommended to read the print around additional rooms, I initially thought it was the whole house. I didn’t read all of the print. Was happy to pay extra for the entire place. Bed was really comfortable!

Fantastic Stay in Condingup

We had a fantastic stay in Condingup. Close to wonderful beaches and national parks, fishing, surfing, snorkelling and site seeing. A great spot for all the best beaches just outside of Esperance. The home was well very appointed and spacious enough for a family of 6. Marie was also very helpful and friendly. Over all highly recommended. Thank you.

Home away from home in the countryside

Thanks Marie! It was a fantastic stay, we created lots of good memories in the house and the area around here ... so gorgeous. Kitchen was so well equipped, we were able to cook everything with ease. Visited the Codingup Tavern for drinks and played a bit of pool on our last night. Thanks again Marie for inviting us as guests in your beautiful house.

Fantastic Five Star Getaway

Me Mates Place is a gem of a place. Marie has equipped it with everything we could ever need for a very comfortable stay. The place is cosy and thoughtfully designed, and immaculately clean. It is a short drive to the beautiful Wharton Bay and Esperance was under an hour away. Marie was very helpful and responsive to our questions. My boys loved their conversations with her and Mark. The icing on the cake was we were able to bring our two cats along to the property. Thank you, Marie, for being a welcoming and easygoing host!

Good for the price, we made it work

The description of the property wasnt super accurate. We booked the place assuming we had the entire 3 acres to ourselves, but ended up with caravans, campers and tents in the back paddock which was not what we were expecting. Great location for the national parks etc. The condi tav is amazing and Mark is a legend. We made it work, we had a good time. Was just a bit disappointed by the suprise guests.

Sorry you thought you had the whole 3 acres, for what purpose not sure? The house and huge front yard are for our guests. The neighbors are closer than the paddocks we allow a few campers to use. I hope the neighbors did not annoy you? Guests after your stay as we can see by their reviews had not a problem with it. Thanks for staying at MMP.

Very peaceful

The property is presented per photos and description. As a family of 4, it is a shame we aren't afforded the master and ensuite, instead we share a laundry with a shower, tub and washing machine as your bathroom. There is no reception with Optus unless you're in Esperance, which could be a blessing or curse for your stay. Mark is very helpful and lovely, we enjoyed our chats. He was very patient with our kids. We enjoyed our stay, it was very peaceful, and a good location for exploring the national parks and Esperance.

Our rate for the house and one bathroom is very generous compared to other one bathroom 2 bedroom accommodations found in the area, for this reason the second bathroom is only offered when we have 5 or more staying to cover the costs of cleaning and use. As you have mentioned it can be offered to our guests for an extra charge as presented in our description on the web site.

Fantastic hidden gem

Located a 40 min drive east from Esperance this perfectly located property is out of the way and perfectly located for Wharton’s Beach, Duke of Orleans Bay and also Cape Le Grand and Cape Arid. The house was clean, had everything we needed for our stay and plenty of space for our kids to play in the quiet, fenced garden. Mark does a great job looking after the place and although he is located in an adjacent building on site, never intruded and was a delight to have around. You only need to look at other reviews to see how well he gets on with everyone. Would definitely recommend Me Mates Place.

Ideal base for east-of Esperance

This is one of our favourite regions on earth (we are well-travelled), and this is the best place we have ever found to stay for at least several days. Unreservedly recommended; stock up in Esperance. Kitchen, bbq are excellent, house is spacious, v well maintained, beds are comfy, and Mark - the resident caretaker - is a gem. Condingup Tavern is in same good hands - the fish is reliably good, as are the steaks, they know how to make coffe properly, and staff are welcoming. Local flora and coastal landscapes are magnificent. Cape Arid National Park is one of Australia’s more jaw-dropping, truly wild coastal places. At moment the flowers are almost beyond belief, and whales are present.

Family Getaway with Young Adults

Mark was a wonderful Property Manager and we enjoyed his company immensely. Property was clean, comfortable, lovely and warm and well equipped. There were two private bedrooms with doors and two public bedrooms in living areas. Would have been nice to have four private bedrooms for our grown up daughters. Congingup Tavern was great and local beaches and National Parks easily accessible. Esperance was more than 25 minutes away, more like 45 -50 minutes away. Well worth the visit though with lots to do and see. We all really enjoyed our family getaway including our old dog Jeremiah. Mark is a font of knowledge about Esperance Stonehenge!!

Claire and family were are delight to host and their old dog Jeremiah was a gentlemen, would say the perfect guests. Future Hosts would have no problem with this wonderful family. we have taken into account your comment on the rooms. Our future indeavours will be to close of the common room to make it a private one, and the studio bedroom to have a partition. Concerning the time travelling to and from Esperance, well we have travelled that road for many years and have timed it to be 30-40 minute drive. Maybe it depends on the driver. A beaut little holiday home

The cottage was very neat, the kitchen clean well equipped. However we were not given access to the bathroom, instead we were required to use the Laundry show showering and washing.

My husband and I, originally from New Zealand, have called Western Australia home since 1995. We've settled in Condingup, 62 kilometers east of Esperance, where we enjoy country living on our 3-acre hobby farm, often referred to as a lifestyle block. Hosting is a rewarding experience for us, and we eagerly anticipate welcoming our guests, embodying the friendliness and hospitality for which us Kiwis are known.

Why they chose this property

Condingup acts as a portal to some of the region's most stunning coastal landscapes and beaches, alongside renowned national parks. It's encircled by sheep and cattle farms, with canola fields and CBH managing the wheat harvest for transport to the port in Esperance. This vibrant town boasts a creative community, and the fair in March is an event you won't want to miss.

What makes this property unique

Our property in Condingup is truly unique. The tree canopy attracts wild cockatoos and a variety of friendly birds that will surpass your expectations. We have a spacious front yard for children to play and a charming fire pit area to relish under the starry night sky. Our gardens are alive with beautiful flowers, and we offer fresh fruit from our orchard during the season, as well as fresh eggs from our chickens. It's a delightful escape from the concrete jungle and the noise of city life. Staying at Me Mate's Place is incredibly relaxing. Plus, we're conveniently located near the children's park and football oval, perfect for a stroll or bike ride. Proximity to pristine beaches Lucky Bay and the Whartons bay with its turquoise waters and excellent surfing conditions another hidden gem that offers a serene escapee from the hustle and bustle.
