Darling Cottage with access to 2 Blanco River Parks!

The Vagabond is a cozy property that has access to two coveted private Blanco River parks. The river is just a short drive downhill from the house. Unlike some parts of the river that are sometimes shallow, the water is deep enough to swim, float in a tube or fish. Located on one of the prettiest parts of the river and just a 12 minute drive down scenic River Road from Wimberley's town square.

This delightful two bedroom, one bathroom cottage has been decorated in a homey yet vibrant style. The large open living, dining and kitchen area with vaulted ceilings is great for entertaining and whipping up a delicious meal. Charming wrap around porches provide several seating areas along with a porch swing to sip cocktails or iced tea and include the perfect spot for dining al fresco. The wooded surroundings and fire pit provide a semi private setting to relax, roast marshmallows and enjoy the local wildlife that pass through the property.

While The Vagabond is a great place to unwind and enjoy the river it is also convenient to Wimberley and its unique shops, restaurants and entertainment venues. Whether you are attending a nearby wedding, local wineries or going to market days stay here to make the most of your Texas hill country experience.

We enjoyed the location. It was close to the square and we got to see a lot of deer. The host left corn for us to feed them. We thought it was more secluded when we saw the listing but the deer made up for it. The river was just down the hill and we had private access to that area. The floor and counter tops were a bit dirty and sticky though upon arrival. Some of the sheets had specks of dirt on them but not enough to need washing. Just a quick brush. A few utensils and pans had food residue but a quick wash alleviated that.

The Vagabond was a clean, comfortable house in a very quiet location. It was the perfect place for us to relax and for me to recover from a medical infusion that gives me severe fatigue. Due to it's location there was an abundance of wildlife including several deer that would visit daily.The bed was quite comfortable and we enjoyed the while experience. Would highly recommend.

Not as baby/toddler friendly as expected: no outlet covers, large tapestry within reach held with tacks, glassware stored in island, the door to the laundry room didn't latch closed, heavy tray on coffee table to pull off, lots of delicate lamps. In hind sight I should have studied the photos better. Keeping my active 13 month old away from these things was a challenge. My 4 year old had a lovely time, and loved watching all the wildlife: birds, deer, even an armadillo.The main bed was not comfortable - could use replacing, and the sheets were ripped slightly. Couch was also not very comfortable, cushions would crush and not return to their form.We did find a scorpion inside, but that is typical in this area.River access was top notch, perfect for the 4th of July!A family with older children would be comfortable here

Loved the property and home. The property was beautifully rustic and the deer were amazing. Such a quiet neighborhood. But definitely not Waterfront as the description says. We do have access to the parks but it is a minimum of a 5-minute drive and a 10 to 15 minute walk depending on your pace. My husband caught quite a few fish and loved the river. Wimberly is an amazing town with so many great options for food, shopping, and fun. The home was darling. Very spacious, very eclectic decor, and well stocked for its guests. We loved the fireplace and everything was so cozy and comfortable.

The stay was great. The check in process was easy. The was clean and everything worked. Anything we needed was there. Having the deer hanging out every evening 15 feet from us was amazing. We can’t wait to stay again.

River fun

The house was cozy and clean! We loved the river, private area for neighborhood only. The swimming was awesome and spots to also put your chair and relax. We also loved how close we were to the shops. We had to drive to all areas but still very close.

Last hooray with Nana before school starts back. Blanco river in this area is always refreshing with deep water access. The Vagabond, although not directly on river, was conveniently located and thoroughly stocked.

Weekend getaway

Perfect getaway for a celebratory anniversary. Quiet neighborhood. Scenic. Severe thunderstorm on our first night stay and power went out but came back up in about 20 minutes. Impressive l, better than our own home in turn around time when there’s power outages.

Blanco Vagabond Area Reunion

The house was the perfect pivot point for visiting with all our deep rooted friends in the Austin/ San Marcus/Wimberley areas. Beds & linens super nice! Deer are way too friendly! We had a fire in the evening. Great open floor plan. We will be back

Great place

The place is actually more comfy than the picture showed. Spacious, clean and quiet. I like the taste of host-art work, fabrics colors, lamps and so on- all creat a relaxing feel. 15 mins walk/3 mins drive to the river which only available to local residents. Great privacy to enjoy the summer. We will come back again.

Our fav spot!!

This is our favorite vacation spot and house. Back again and we stay here every chance we get. The deer got a whole bag of corn and extra munchies this time also. Always a wonderful time on the river and at the house chillIng and relaxing. My son said he’s only staying here and no where else. Thanks!

Perfect spot for Re-Energizing your life!

We loved the deer in the neighborhood, they would come right up to you and take fruit or vegetables right out of your hand! The house was clean the bed was comfortable and it was a peaceful quiet place to relax and unwind from the daily grind! The two river parks were wonderful especially the river road park, the water was clear and we just floated to nowhere!!!
