This tastefully renovated 3-bedroom, 3-bath dog-friendly home has a private heated pool and is a 5-minute walk to the beach! Located in the beautiful Sea Pines Plantation, a quick stroll to the South Beach Marina Village offers shopping, restaurants, and nightly entertainment.
This charming one-level home boasts an open floor plan with a kitchen overlooking the spacious living and dining area with a wet bar. The well-equipped kitchen has granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and an inviting breakfast bar. The large master suite overlooking the lagoon has a king bed, a private bath with tub, and a separate tiled walk-in shower. Each of the two guest bedrooms has private bathrooms, one with a king bed and the other with a queen and a set of bunk beds.
The living area opens to the pool, which has a waterfall facing the tranquil lagoon. There is also a roomy covered outdoor eating area with seating for six and a gas grill perfect for barbecuing or enjoying your morning coffee. "Ocean Star" is the name of this lovely beach getaway, perfect for vacationing with family and friends!

The perfect getaway! Tucked away at the south end of the island, this home was such a peaceful retreat. It’s within easy walking distance of The Salty Dog, which made for a great lunch or dinner spot—we even enjoyed a little shopping there as well. The beach access was fantastic; we could have our toes in the water in five minutes or less. One day we biked up to The Beach Club for lunch, and that was wonderful too! The heated pool was another highlight—we really enjoyed it.I rated 4 stars for accuracy due to a few small details that future guests might appreciate knowing. The patio set outside the main master is no longer there, and there are currently three lounge chairs instead of the four shown in the photos. Additionally, the home is accessed through Sea Pines Forest Preserve, which is absolutely beautiful, but it does require either a pass or a 10 daily entry fee. We weren’t aware of this in advance, so it caught us a bit off guard upon arrival. Since we had multiple entries during our stay, the fees added up before we were able to arrange a weekly pass through the Vacation Company. It would be helpful if this information and the pass option were shared with guests ahead of time.Overall, we had a wonderful stay and truly enjoyed the home and its location!
Perfect house for our vacation. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for our family of 5. Everything felt and looked clean. It was nice not having to climb stairs. Beautiful location, easy walk to the beach. All amenities and descriptions were accurate as listed online

A/C has issues and should be addressed; i don't think it ever turned off...went up to 77 during the day and took all night to cool back down. Otherwise, the house, layout, furnishings, and location were AWESOME!

We had a wonderful stay at Merganser Ct. The beach was super close and there is a nice short pathway to it which was very useful when bringing beach gear for numerous kids. We loved spending the day on the beach and cooling off after dinner in the pool. We all enjoyed the short walk to the Salty Dog Ice Cream parlor, restaurant and shops. We appreciated the bike access as well, taking bike rides both through the paths and on the beach. We would highly recommend the house for one or two families and would definitely consider staying here again given all its great amenities and location!

We had a wonderful week. Location to beach doesn’t get much better. I will say that some attention really does need to be placed on having someone come in and truly clean EVERYTHING! The showers need help. Other than that the house is great. Hope to return next summer.

Great location. This is the second time we have stayed here. The property could use some updating. Primary bedroom needs new carpet there are to many stains on it or it needs a good cleaning. It needs new pots, pans, cups and silverware. Also, the dishwasher doesn't get anything clean. Really all minor things. I would definitely stay here again. Its pet friendly, has a pool and fits my family.

Due to the current COVID situation, all of our private homes will pools have been booked solid since May when we were allowed to reopen for weekly rentals. Because of heavy occupancy in the homes the seasonal cleans normally done after the summer weeks have had to be delayed due to occupancy. I've provided your feedback to our Director of Housekeeping and we will make sure the seasonal clean is done as well advising the owners and property managers about the issues that need to be addressed regarding paint, mattresses, carpeting, and outdoor furniture. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at 4 Mersanger! The property is well kept and equipped with everything needed as a home away from home. It’s located on a tranquil lagoon where, just by chance, I was looking out the kitchen window and saw an approximately 8-foot alligator cruising by. Even though we’re used to seeing alligators where we live, it was still exciting to see one there. You just need to remember to leave them alone and they’ll leave you alone, and never feed them.
The heated pool was wonderful, and we loved the peace and quiet. My son-in-law went surf fishing several times during our stay. We couldn’t have picked a more perfect property for our annual beach getaway. Many thanks to the homeowners and The Vacation Company.

Had a great vacation! Property was very pleasant and short walk to the beach. Neighborhood is very quiet. Pool was refreshing. We had plenty of towels and beach towels. Our dog enjoyed the stay as well. This vacation home included bikes. We rode down to salty dog and on the beach .
One of the baskets on the bike is broken. Just fyi.
All amenities included were what we needed. Clean linens, clean kitchen. Stove/oven looked new. Bed comforter in the master bedroom was soft. We didnt use the other 2 rooms. Since it was just me and my husband.
There are a few beach toys available for use if you bring kids.
We stayed 5 nights. We definitely would love to come back. Thank you for having us!

Excellent location but needs some TLc
While we enjoyed the location of this house (3 min walk to the beach and a 5 minute walk to south beach marina/salty dog), it is in major need of TLC. Upon arrival, we called vacation company to let them know that the windows were extremely dirty (to the point you couldn’t see through them) and halfway through our stay, the keypad stopped working and we were locked out. To the Vacation Company’s credit, in each instance they sent someone right away and each of these issue was promptly resolved. We also loved the pool (although it is in need of cleaning), and the size was perfect for a family of 5.
Upon check out, I let the company know of the following issues that we noticed throughout our stay so that they can be remedied for future guests.
1. General cleanliness- house smelled musty upon arrival/floors and counters were dusty.
2. Dining room table Light bulb needs replacing
3. Dog hair all over couch
4. Shower head in middle room needs replacing
5. Microwave button and door need to be fixed.
6. Ice maker makes ice but doesnt dispense through door
7. Stove - No labels on the stove and kept turning off.
8. Master Closet door doesnt close
9. Return Vents filthy
10. Bottom of Pool is very dirty, as is the surrounding pool deck (full of dirt).
11. Bunk room dresser drawer needs to be fixed.
12. There was tons of lint in dryer (fire hazard)
13. Need chair felt pads on kitchen chairs. They are very difficult to move on the tile.
14. Dryer doesnt fully dry. Takes at least two cycles even on the hottest/longest setting.
Also note there is no child lock on the patio door so consider bringing your own or better yet, the house should come with one.
I think this house definitely has the potential to be a 4/5 star house given its amazing location and great pool if the above items are addressed.
