Kailuana Beachfront Estate - Fully-remodeled Kailua home sits on nearly an acre of prime Kailua beachfront.
The two homes sleep 8-12 guests in a "main" house and detached guest cottage. This enchanting Kailua Estate is located in the premier part of the bay where the sand is at its widest and the turquoise-blue waters are most inviting. An expansive ocean front lawn provides ample privacy and is ideal for relaxing and recreation where the worries of the world are left behind. Following recent renovations, the home contains just the right blend of modern comforts in its updated kitchen and baths, with elements of charm carefully preserved from a richly felt past.

The main home offers 3 bedrooms and 2 baths overlooking the large grass lawn with the beach and ocean beyond. Two sun-decks offer space for casual dining and/or informal gatherings overlooking the ocean. The two bedroom one bath guest cottage sits adjacent to the main house, with private entrance, living area and a modernized kitchen of its own.
Fully air-conditioned, with modernized amenities, both homes are comfortable year round and ideal for extended family stays.

Just amazing! The privacy, the amenities, the beach access, all of it. This property is the One. Do yourself a favor and rent it. The pictures look good but dont do it justice. The yard is huge and private. The cottage is beautiful and allows for a separate home for a family/teens/etc. the gift basket ipon arrival was so thoughtful.

The huge yard was great for the kids and well stocked with boogie boards and beach gear. We spent most of our time on the beach just behind the house. The cottage was lovely as well. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed the service and property very many little careful touches had been seen to - every necessary supply provided, thoughtful and concise instructions included for operating appliances,everything sparkling clean. When there was a little hiccup (probably user error, we couldn't figure out the DVR) they came over immediately to help us. The property was beautifully maintained with lots of little touches that were so special, tiny orchids peeking out of the bushes and artfully arranged seat groupings all over the property so that you could easily relax with friends or find a special quiet spot to read your book. The furnishings were beautiful and the kitchen had everything you could possibly need with all of the equipment in perfect condition. I have stayed in many vacation rentals. This was really one of the best.

Kailua Beach House - Oahu in Feb 2018

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A few issues: The Wireless Internet was inaccessible for the first few days, which required several visits from the cable provider (Spectrum) as well as visits from the Property Mgmt Firm. Eventually the problem was identified - faulty Netgear routers - and the Spectrum Tech returning on Day 3 instead set up wireless through their native WiFi-capable modems - this solved the issue for good, but not after 3 days of hassle. Another issue were the dryers in both houses. Neither seemed to dry the towels on our first run of laundry, despite trying all different settings and temps. Technicians came onsite to resolve, and they found that some of the internal equipment was faulty or broken, requiring adjustment and replacement - they got 1 dryer working (but only with one available dryer setting) and the other was scheduled to be fixed the day we left. Finally, we had an issue with flies in the main house. Despite our best efforts to keep the doors and windows closed, many MANY flies would enter the kitchen. We believe they may have been drawn to a foul smell emanating from one corner of the kitchen (indicating a dead rodent may have been trapped in the walls), but we also noticed that the back door screens did not "seal" the house - rather, they left a 4 inch gap between the outer door and the screen door (plenty of room for flies to enter, which they did in droves). It's worth noting that at all times the Property Mgmt Firm maintained regular communications and immediate responses when we texted them with concerns. They did the best they could in helping us address concerns as they arose, and they also welcomed us to the beach house with a tasty bread pudding with white chocolate sauce. Overall very good handling of our concerns, but the house was somewhat less than what we expected.

Great stay but not all great

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property is well located on the beach which is hidden from view from the property due to trees in back. Kailua beach is one of the best beaches on Oahu with a smooth sandy bottom (i.e. no rocks and shells like Waikiki). The backyard is huge with room for plenty of entertaining. The property comes with a shed full of beach chairs, toys, coolers, and boards. The living room area is nice with a nice sized flat screen TV for relaxing. The kitchen is modern with nice appliances. In summary you got great location, nice place, and a beautiful uncrowded beach. Unfortunately things weren't all good. I had asked before about construction noise and was told they were unaware of any. Sure enough on most days around 7AM the neighbors next door started a ban saw and talking. The property line is only about 10 feet away from the bedroom I was at. I was on EDT time so I was mostly up by then - but don't think about sleeping past 7AM in that room. The writeup of the property says A/C but I was taken aback when I read in the full document that A/C was bedrooms only. The pictures showed an A/C unit in the living room and was glad to see that yes there was an adequate unit to cool the living room. This left only the kitchen without A/C and that could get hot. The smaller cottage did have an A/C unit for its living room also but it was broken. A smaller A/C unit was supplied but it was not sufficient to cool the room. You will invariably encounter some bugs or gekos in the house due to it being nature outside. The last annoying thing was the entrance to the beach from the property is one of the only shaded areas on the beach. This seems to be known as people flock to this one area to be. I compare it to reserving seats at a movie theater and getting there to find no one in the theater, but then someone comes up and sits right next to you and right behind you. A counter-measure to this is to go out early and place chairs in the shady spots and this seemed to work. E

House is not visible from the road or the beach, so is quiet and private. House and grounds are beautiful and very comfortable for an extended family of 9 people. Managers (Steven and Michelle) are wonderful to work with. Quick to respond when scheduling arrival and responding to other issues (we accidentally "locked ourselves out of" a safe and couldn't reopen it). Steven's excellent white chocolate bread pudding was a wonderful welcome treat. Beds, pillows, sheets all very comfortable. Aveda toiletries. Nice looking tubs in 2 of the bathrooms. We did not use them though--we were mostly in the ocean. Kitchen very well equipped to handle all needs for a large group. Enough dishes, glasses and silverware so you don't have to wash after each meal. Nice quality pots and pans in many sizes, including larger sizes sometimes hard to find in rentals. Many storage containers. Crock pot, rice pot, Vitamix , mini food chopper. Cottage has additional well-equipped kitchen, which we did not need to use. Outside: beach chairs, many beach towels, umbrellas, inflatable rings and boogie boards! All in good condition. Outdoor showers next to entrances near bathrooms. Perfect for rinsing off before entering house. Steven referred us to Hawaii Helping Hands from whom we rented kayaks. Back yard drop-off and pick-up! We are occasional kayakers. From the house it is about a 30 min kayak to Flat Island, 45-60 min to Lanikai. From Lanikai another 30-45 min to Moku Nui (longer times for when the tradewinds were blowing). If you are looking for a house on Kailua beach (or on any beach), it is hard to imagine better.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed in a lot of beach houses on Oahu on the North Shore and in Waimanalo and Kailua. This one was the best by far. The beach is one of the best we have experienced anywhere in the world with perfect sand, warm waters and clean waves to body surf. The location of the house is also perfect -- five minute drive to downtown Kailua and on a quieter stretch of beach a five minute walk from Kailua Beach Park. What distinguishes this place from other great houses we have stayed at, however, is the sprawling back yard that fronts the beach. It is even bigger and prettier than the pictures show. Our entire family (6 adults and two girls 10 and 7 yrs old) spent many hours playing badminton, croquet, frisbee, eating dinner or just hanging out with a cocktail under the shady trees. The only tip I would have is to turn on the AC as high as possible when you arrive to cool the house down. The cool air doesn't ever fully reach the kitchen, but after our first day we were fine leaving all the sliding glass doors and windows open in the mornings and evenings and the living room AC on during the day. We would come back to this property in a second and plan to do so. And Kailua is the perfect place for a relaxing week, still with amenities such as Whole Foods and some good restaurants. Mostly though we just got take out and ate at home because we did not want to miss the beautiful evenings.

We returned in April with those grown-up sons and their wives, girlfriend and children. When we arrived we all ran down the gorgeous front lawn and onto the spectacular beach. The thrill was still the same! Of course the house and guess house have been beautifully updated. But the tropical magic remains. We enjoyed every aspect of the stay. Swimming in the surf, barbecuing, lounging around the yard, visiting Kailua and beyond. The kitchen is so well equipped, cooking was a breeze. The management is great, very professional. We can't wait to return again!

The home comfortably fit all of us. My family stayed in the back cottage. My grandpa took the master in the main house. Then, my parents took the other room with the queen, which shares a bathroom with the room with the twin bedrooms. We wished there was an extra bathroom in the main house, but we were quite comfortable with the floor plan. With little kids, it was so great being right on the beach. The house came with beach chairs and toys, which we certainly used every day! Kailua is the most beautiful beach on Oahu, and we felt so lucky to be right there. After dinner each night, we went for evening walks on the beach - it truly felt like a vacation. This place is very expensive... if you're able to splurge, it's worth it!
