Cherrywood is a modern tudor style house nestled in a quiet cul de sac in the beautiful village of Exeter, Southern Highlands

The space

Tucked away under the shade of a Golden Elm, the recently-refurbished Cherrywood offers an authentic Southern Highlands experience year-round.

In summer, the back verandah and English garden is a perfect place to relax and soak up the sun, whilst in winter, the outdoor fire pit makes for a cosy spot to enjoy the best of the Southern Highlands wines.

Cherrywood is suited to all ages, group sizes and tastes. The home is situated a short drive from world famous cool climate wineries, Bowral's bustling shopping district and the nearby Wingello state forest offers fast, flowing mountain biking trails for guests looking for a different kind of experience. Morton National Park (only 7km away) offers beautiful walks and stunning views of the Bundanoon escarpment.

Cherrywood's spacious living & dining areas encourage groups to gather together over a home-cooked meal, whilst the home's several reading nooks offer guests a tranquil hideaway to catch up on some peace and quiet. Netflix is also available free of charge for those who can't miss an episode of their favourite series.

Open plan full equipped gourmet kitchen with designer tableware and access to butler's pantry for basic cooking ingredients. Kitchen includes a 900 mm Ilve oven, Miele oven/steamer, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine and zip hydro hot/cold water with sparkling water feature. A spotted gum kitchen nook table is available for informal dining and flows to barbecue area on the back deck. Open plan living and formal dining room which also flows to the north facing front deck and beautiful Golden Elm tree. Gas central heating downstairs and reverse cycle heating/airconditioning upstairs. All 4 bedrooms have televisions and the master bedroom and ensuite has private access. Under floor heating in main bathroom and master bedroom ensuite. Porta cot and high chair included. Books, games and wi-fi. 1km walk to Exeter

Perfect weekender

Property was in a very quite street and house was very clean & neat as a pin. Every comfort was thought of and provided for. We were 3 couples and the bedrooms were perfect and comfortable with tvs in every room if required. Unfortunately it rained all weekend so didn’t get to use fire pit or sit in the gorgeous garden but the house was toasty warm with central heating and a magnificent kitchen. You name it & it was there. My first time using stayz & a big thank you to Robyn who was easy to communicate with and kept me up to date with every procedure required. A lovely hamper was also left for us. The group has already decided we need to return to this lovely property & would have no hesitation recommending it to others.

Amazing house for relaxation or entertaining

We stayed at Cherrywood to celebrate a special family birthday and it was such a lovely house to gather and relax. The house is beautifully furnished and decorated and looks better than the photographs. The house has old world character but also lots of modern features. The gardens give the house a lovely feel and the kids loved cooking marshmallows in the fire pit at the back. The kitchen is enormous - great for entertaining and very well stocked. The layout worked really well for our family with all the bedrooms upstairs and a main room with ensuite with a door which can be closed to separate it from the other rooms (great as we had a newborn staying). The house is a nice walk to Exeter and we enjoyed walking to the General Store. Robyn was a very attentive host and helpful with some suggestions of things to do in the area and restaurants to visit. Thanks for a lovely stay - hopefully we will get a chance to visit again soon.

Wedding in Southern Highlands

Beautifully presented, Robyn ( property manager) communicated with me with all the essential tips re getting to house and getting in etc . All very easy. Cherrywood manual terrific , how to work heating ,locks etc. Very useful. House was perfect for what we required , myself and husband , our 3 daughters and their husbands. Great bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs, made getting ready for wedding easy. Kitchen so well equipped - everything you need, and a great gathering hub for us all to chat and eat. Heating in the house fantastic and easy to use, kept us warm & cosy. The garden is beautiful - but unfortunately we did not have any spare time to sit and enjoy. The fire pit area looked very tempting. Nice and close to Exeter & cafés - especially to get essentials milk,bread and Sunday papers. I would highly recommend Cherrywood. Thankyou Robyn.

Extremely comfortable, beautifully appointed home set in a lovely garden. Everything about this beautifully maintained property is first rate. It is very quiet and private, yet very close to Exeter. We stayed here for our son's wedding which took place nearby, and it was perfect - we have booked to come back again.

A fabulous family getaway

We booked Cherrywood for my birthday as a long weekend getaway with the family – 6 adults and 1 child. This was my dream house. The beds were comfy, the grounds had beautiful gardens that you could see from every room, and it had central heating (even the floors in the bathroom were heated) so it was super toasty for our chilly Autumn getaway. The kitchen was a cook’s dream with everything we wanted. We enjoyed the kitchen nook and the dining room for family meals. The fire pit was already stocked with wood and ready to go. It was relaxing to sit around the fire after a day of wine tasting. Robyn was an excellent host, making recommendations on local wineries before we arrived, so we didn’t miss out. Oh - and every room had a television to watch some late night Netflix in bed. Bliss. We had a fabulous weekend and will definitely book again. Thanks again Robyn.

Amazing Getaway

Cherrrywood is the most amazing getaway house. It is nestled in the quiet streets of Exeter but still walking distance to the general store. The house is brilliant - it feels very luxurious but homely and comfortable. Robyn was excellent with her communication and instructions for the property & it had absolutely everything we needed for our family. Things like the pre-packing of the fire pit, well informed kitchen set up and amazing gardens really made it a home away from home. Can’t wait to stay again when we are next passing through the southern highlands.

The most beautiful highlands getaway!
