Overall, we truly enjoyed the stay at Copacetic. There are some safety concerns for very young children that we are contacting the property managers about. The open layout upstairs was wonderful for the whole family. The sectionals are comfortable even though not brand new. The bedrooms are all good sized and mattresses comfortable. The hot water was a bit sketchy in some bathrooms going in and out during showers. The ice maker and wine fridge upstairs were great to have and the kitchen was very nice overall. We would likely stay again if some safety concerns were addressed.

Not so Copacetic
The location was great, the view from the back of the house was gorgeous. The space was adequate for our group. HOWEVER, it is not worth the cost. We had to call service/maintenance several times in the first 2 days. The TV remotes did not have batteries, the hot water wasn't working in the kitchen, the oven didn't work correctly, we went 2 days without AC in the kitchen/great room area! One bedroom had extensive water damage and smelled like mold so no one was allowed to stay in that room. There were no dish rags or towels or detergent. We found broken glass in one of the bedrooms, and we found ants in the pantry. The owner needs to take this property out of the inventory for a couple of months and get everything updated/fixed/cleaned. Overall a disappointment for the amount of money we paid.
Nice location very near the beach with a great view of the sound and a very nice, large kitchen. But..all of the interior bedroom and bathroom doors are louvered doors. You can't see through them but you can hear everything so there is no real privacy within the bedrooms and baths. During our stay this time we had trouble with the hot water. Sometimes it would be hot and then just turn cold with no warning, It seems that the most likely cause is that the hot water system is simply not sufficient for a house this large with 12 people staying there. Otherwise a very nice place.
Great location with a view of the sound and easy access to the beach. The property is generally well taken care of with a superb kitchen versus most beach rentals. I did not give it 5 stars as there is a detail that needs to be addressed with the new owners that takes away from the overall desirability of the property. I will address this privately with the property managers and the owners.
Amazing property on Oak Island. The great room attached to the kitchen creates the ultimate family feel that also overlooks the sound behind. The property is in good condition and the room/bathroom configuration is great for small groups/family. Only downside is getting specifics about the property grill and coffee maker(s). Was told by the property manager they had drip and pod coffee maker, there was no pod coffee maker. No worries we brought both. Also Inquired about the grill and was told they did not know if it was gas or charcoal. We brought both options for grilling and found the grill available to be unsafe for use. Disappointing to offer as an amenity, but not the end of the world. We used their great kitchen to make make up for this disappointment . I highly suggest this property for your next vacation.
We rented this property for August 8-15. Due to the spike in Covid and NC becoming a hot spot, some of us were travel restricted by employers. We tried to cancel 30 days prior but were denied a refund. So those who could travel planned to go. We were notified two days before traveling that a hurricane shut down the island and and we were denied a refund or the ability to choose another time at a future date to rent this property. Losing $5.5k is a big hit and pretty disappointing.
