About this property

Vintage Cottage on Lake!
Fish Camp Cabin
FREE kayak, canoe & bike use!
2024-Two new electric recliners and a new sofa sleeper with memory foam pad for groups of four!
Warm days and cool nights make for a cozy evening by the fire pit counting the stars. This quaint, fully-furnished lakefront cottage is perfect for family vacations, guy's fishing retreats, girl's getaways, a couple of couples or a romantic getaway with your honey. Overlooking one of the clearest, spring-fed lakes in Texas (the same aquifer that Ozarka and Nestle gets their spring water feeds Lake Hawkins), this 1-bedroom, 1 bath has everything you need to get outta town and forget about the 'real world' for a while. The bedroom, with a Queen-size bed and the Queen-size sleeper sofa in the living area can accomodate a small family or 2 couples. Watch the sun rise over the lake from the deck as you're enjoying your morning coffee. Enjoy our screened-in dockhouse, private boat dock for securing your boat, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, sun-bathing and lots of room to play, walk, run, cycle around the lake or just chill. A public beach at Lake Hawkins County Park is down the road, just a few minutes away. You’ll want “our place” to be your “your place” for your next intimate getaway. We are away from the crowds but closely connected with WiFi, WiFi calling, Roku and Alexa.

We have several outstanding restaurants in our area. Red Rooster Icehouse, Taste of Italy on the Lake and Circle M Crawfish are three of our favorites.

We're 100 miles east of Dallas, 100 miles west of Shreveport, 35 miles north of Tyler and within minutes of Mineola, Gladewater and Jefferson with scores of antique shops, lakes, wineries and some of the best fishing, boating, bicycling and motorcycle riding in the country! Lake Fork, Lake of the Pines, Lake Palestine, Lake Holbrook, Lake Winnsoro, Lake Gilmer, Lake Quitman are just minutes away. So spend a weekend on beautiful Lake Hawkins or spend a week and fish them all!

Relaxing Getaway
We had a lovely 3-night stay. The cottage was cozy and clean. The bed was very comfortable - soft, but not too soft. Pillows were great. Enjoyed a bonfire and smores at night; coffee and turtle watching from the boathouse dock at sunrise. We had a perfect view of the eclipse from the dock. Luckily, the rain clouds held off until after totality. Internet connection was strong and supported multiple devices. We were also able to smoothly stream movies in the evening, even with a thunderstorm raging. Owner was very flexible, and communication was unobtrusive and informative. Would definitely stay again if we ever get back down this way. Can't say enough good things about our stay. Very beautiful and peaceful.

Just right
it is the perfect getaway for my wife and I. We did all the things we like to do. Read, go on walks-around the lake, fish out on the dock, and centrally located to Mineola and Gladewater-places we like to antique. Not to mention a 10 minute walk to the best Italian restaurant we've ever eaten at- Taste of Italy. Will definitely be back!

What do an Aggie and a science teacher have in common? A love and appreciation of nature. We are excited owners who want to provide you with a step back in time. A stay in a vintage cabin, at the base of a stand of pines, on a pristine lake. Sounds like our kind of place and we want to share that with you.

Why they chose this property

Cozy, vintage, clean!
What more would you want?
Singing birds, scampering squirrels and the breezes whistling through the pines.
More? His and her bikes, fishing kayaks and a canoe all free of charge.
Enjoy a sunrise view from your private pier. Or, jump in for a cooling swim and finish with snacks in your screened in cabana.
Crappie and Bass will fear you as you fish from the pier or 11’, 300 lb limit kayaks. Or, simply tour the lake and soak in the rays aboard one of the two kayaks or share the rowing in the canoe Not enough fun? Jump on a ladies pearl pink Panama Jack bike or men’s black Schwinn bike and ride part or all of the 10 mile waterfront oil top road around the lake. Stop off at the beach area $3/person for a sandy roped off swim.
End the evening with a cookout on the grill, s’mores in the fire pit or treat yourself to the “Taste of Italy” waterfront restaurant 1/2 mile away. The owners are from Macedonia and prepare authentic Southeastern European cuisine complete with homemade rolls and Cannolis for dessert. Bring your own wine.
