Possums Retreat - Private Spacious Cottage with Hydrotherapy Spa

Possums is a purpose-built one-bed cottage nestled among the bamboo and Macadamia trees in a garden setting on a 5-acre property on a hillside and is ideal for a peaceful, tranquil get away. Rejuvenate on the large deck while soaking up the sounds of nature or relax in the hydrotherapy spa. The property is close to town, the golf course and Baroon Pocket Dam. Enjoy a delicious breakfast featuring locally sourced products before exploring the surrounding area. Let us be your home away from home!

The retreat provides a modern, clean and quiet living space in a garden setting. The front door opens into the open plan kitchen-dining-lounge area.

Double French doors on either side of the wood burning stove lead out to the large deck offering a panoramic view of the garden and Jacaranda and Macadamia trees.

The bedroom overlooks the garden through French windows and has a Queen bed, reverse-cycle air-conditioner, ceiling fan and an ensuite bathroom with bath and shower.

The hydrotherapy spa is on the fully enclosed and very private side deck and is for the exclusive use of the guests staying at Possums Retreat.

* Enough wood for the cold winter nights is provided for the fireplace and there is also a reverse-cycle air-conditioner and ceiling fan in the living room.

* We provide a delicious breakfast basket filled with local and home-made produce. From freshly baked bread, croissants and pastries to eggs from our chickens and fresh local seasonal fruit to milk and yoghurt from Maleny's award-winning dairy and cheese factory.

* Our property is semi-rural and is not on town water or sewerage. Our water comes from rainwater tanks, and we have a wastewater treatment plant. The house has its own tank, and the water is perfectly safe to drink.

* Pets are allowed and we charge a pet fee. As we are semi-rural and part of a wildlife corridor, the greater property is not fenced, and all dogs are to remain on lead at all times when on the grounds. Possum's back deck is enclosed as is the the walkway and spa deck.

* There are pasture-fed free range chickens on the property.

Possum Retreat was the perfect cottage for a rainy 4 nights. It was comfortable spacious and beautifully furnished. Breakfast basket was great and the eggs a highlight. It wasn’t too far from Maleny or Montville or Australia Zoo. Be careful of the driveway as it is steep. We didn’t get to see or hike around the Glass House Mountains so definitely a return visit.

Everything about this stay was just perfect - from the warm welcome by Linda and Antony, to the breakfast basket that contained (among other things) a freshly home-made loaf of bread that was still warm, to the relaxing outdoor spa, and the amazing location. We couldn’t fault our 3 days there, and we just wish we could have stayed longer!

Upon arrival the 1st thing I noticed was how beautifully presented the cottage was from the welcoming basket of local goodies to the crisp white bedding !! Instantly I was in heaven ❤️ our (2) Westie girls were welcomed with open arms ( which means everything to us ) loved our hosts … best getaway yet !!

Everything is provided, even a well stocked breakfast basket with home-made bread. Spacious house with a large veranda and a very private area for the spa. We stayed for 2 nights in august 2023. Such a cosy cottage and the perfect place to unwind and relax. The hosts were wonderul and very atrentive to our needs. The property istelf was immaculately presented and it was all the small extras that really made it special. The fresh bread and condiments on arrival and bath robes just were much appreciated. Will definitely stay again in the future.

A delightful stay. The accommodation was spacious, clean, and extraordinarily well appointed. The hosts had thought of everything. It was a rainy day, so we were so pleased to have this wonderful retreat to relax in. We were also delighted by the lovely breakfast, with fresh eggs, fruit, muesli and yoghurt and then freshly baked bread and croissants delivered to the door. Highly recommended.

Lovely, clean and welcoming cottage. Antony & Linda were very helpful and friendly.

Very enjoyable. Our only negative comment would be the stairs down to the cottage with our little dog. Taking him up and down for his toileting needs especially during the night was awkward.
