D Gowdy Suite 1 is ground level with private key-less entry and screened porch with skylight. The hot tub is located in the Aspens and is shared with the other rental on the property. The bedroom has a 32 inch TV and king size bed. The kitchen has all essentials and extras. The living area has a couch, desk and 42 inch TV. The bathroom has a blow dryer and extra towels. OHVs are only allowed to travel on Hwy 149 from June 13th until September 30th.

Place was perfect for 7 night stay! Close to restaurants, parks, the Alpine loop, Stoney Pass, other outdoor activities and 4WD trails. Hot tub was nice after a day of activities. The bed was very comfortable. The layout of the space worked well to accommodate our. Would visit again!

Nice inn, interesting history, great location

We enjoyed our stay at the Ouray Inn. I loved reading the stories of the inn and its 3 ownerships. Ouray is a great little town a this inn is right downhill from a great chocolate shop.

Great host wonderful spot

The place was great. The host went above and beyond even to the point he met me as I got out of my vehicle and gave me the run down of the rental. I really appreciated the almost family like warmth I got from Jim and can’t say enough about the friendly people I met in the town on my short stay. I look forward to utilizing Jim’s other properties as I bring people to enjoy the hidden gem that is Lake City.

Perfect Cabin

We enjoyed our stay at a perfect little cabin in Lake City with friends to celebrate a birthday. Communication was fantastic. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed and the location was great. I would highly recommend.

Exactly what we needed

Jim made the check in process so easy. The cabin was very clean, super quiet even with other guests upstairs, and had everything we needed for just the two of us. We normally come with several/a lot of our family members but have never stayed at an of the Gowdy properties. After this experience, we would be very happy to stay at whichever Gowdy property best accommodates our group. Great people, great experience.

Both the property and host were top-notch

Almost as soon as I booked our stay, the host opened up a line of communications which continued as necessary right up until our arrival at the property, where he greeted us, gave us a quick tour of the place, acquainted us with its amenities, and offered any help we needed during our stay. The place was comfortable and well-provisioned. We enjoyed the hot tub, and I'm sure we would have enjoyed the fire pit if we had had the opportunity to use it. My wife and I found only two (rather small) minuses. (1) There was a lack of really good lighting for reading. We are both pretty avid readers, and our eyes are getting older and need more light than they used to. (2) The shower was a rather tight fit, at least for me. I'm 6'5" tall and weigh 210 pounds, so it may not be as much of an issue for smaller folks. Our host had texted me the directions to the property (since some GPS's apparently give erroneous directions), including a photo of the house behind which our property was located. Once I had given him an ETA as we were driving to Lake City, he kept in touch to make sure we had no problems finding the place and ensuring that it was cleaned and ready for us when we arrived. (Be aware that, if you are approaching Lake City from the south, cell service is spotty between South Fork and Creede, and pretty much nonexistent from Creede to Lake City and plan accordingly.)

Lovely Place

I would highly recommend staying at this mini apartment. It was located in a very quiet area of Lake City. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was very well appointed. Unfortunately, a blizzard was predicted for the area and we chose to leave after one night. We were very disappointed that we didn't get to stay for both of our nights. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

We offer 6 elegant comfortable vacation rentals of varying size. The Gowdy Manor is a 6 bed 4 bath Victorian home located in the heart of Lake City walking distance to restaurants and downtown, sleeps 16. The Bonnie Rose is another Victorian home built in 1902 and recently restored is a 5 bed 2 bath that sleeps 12. The Gowdy Studio, sleeps 3. The Gowdy Apartment is a 2 bed 1 bath, sleeps 4. The Gowdy Suite 1, sleeps 4 and the Gowdy Suite 2, sleeps 6.
