Perfect place for a cozy stay
We had such a great time staying in the Yaak River Hideaway. The cabin was clean and tidy when we arrived and we found it well stocked with everything we needed. The cabin grounds were beautiful, secluded, and provided many adventures for my children. It was one of our most memorable trips to date and we look forward to visiting again.

Yaak River Hideaway was just what we needed - a weekend getaway!
The Yaak River Hideaway provided us just what we needed. A chance to unwind and de-couple ourselves from our oftentimes way too frantic lifestyles. Watching the sunrise, listening to the Yaak River wind its way through the canyon below, while just letting go of all of our troubles. Thank you.
The music of the river lulled us to sleep.
The wall to wall carpet in the living room and the downstairs bedrooms aggravated my allergies.
But, over all, good spot for quiet relaxation plus hiking.
This was my second time staying at this property. And it won't be my last. The property is a clean and cozy cabin in the woods right on the Yaak River. The host, Tami, is top-notch. She stayed in contact with me before my arrival and after. I can't recommend this property enough.

Wonder stay!
We loved the cabin! It was exactly what we wanted and was what was advertised. It was so cozy and welcoming. There was enough room for all four of us. The views are spectacular! We even had deer in our yard! One thing I want to mention is how amazing our guest host was. Tami went above and beyond to make our stay so enjoyable. The communication with her far exceeded what we have had in the past with rentals. We will definitely stay there again! Thank you for a the great memories we will share far beyond our stay.
Beyond a doubt, one of the best places we have ever stayed. Tami, is beyond words in her guest relations. Best view and sound of spring whitewater from the BLESSED e Yaak River below us. Best bed, EVER, best shower in Montana, we quickly realized whatever pictures we took would do it NO justice, The same could be said about words to try and describe the Yaak Hideaway, we were so blessed to find this gem!

Perfect Getaway!!
The cabin was perfect for our 6 adult family! Very tidy and clean, plenty of supplies, and a well stocked kitchen. There were even spices in the cupboard and condiments in the refrigerator! The only ask would be more chairs to put at the table to play cards. It truly was like a home away from home! And the Host? AMAZING!! She was so helpful and kind, with lots of suggestions for things to do! Nobody wanted to leave and we’re already making plans for a return trip!My only complaint is with Evolve. The link to the check in document did not work and they did not respond until after we were already at the property. Thankfully the Host had given me her cell number and she was able to help us out. All in all, an amazing trip!!!
I cannot describe how wonderful it was staying at the Yaak Hideaway for my son's spring break as it was exactly what we needed! The communication with Tami was beyond expectation and everything from the check-in process to all of the recommendations on where to explore made things so easy for us. The cabin was cute, warm, and really had everything we needed. Everything from the bedding, stocked kitchen, and toiletries was all provided. The cabin had plenty to do as there were countless board games, fishing rods, and the best part.... the beautiful Yaak River. I really wished VRBO would allow us to post pictures as the different views of the river were breath taking! We experienced sunny days, rainy days, and some snow all in the same week! We enjoyed it all! I especially loved hearing the rain on the metal roof.... it was so soothing! There was also TV/WIFI available in which I was thankful as my alma mater SDSU made it to the finals for March Madness and I was able to watch the game in the cabin. The wildlife is abundant in the area and we loved leaving some peanuts on the deck rail as the flying squirrels made an appearance and I just loved seeing them! Tami really made us feel like family and I can't thank her enough for her generosity. We will be back!
A terrible experience. They notify you right before checkin by text message how to get in the cabin. The problem with that is there is no cell reception for 18 miles from the cabin. We made 2 round trips to town to call, which is a total of 72 miles , before we had contact with the host. She said" You are no the first person" that had that problem..... The 1st person should have been the last person that had that problem. The host just didnot care enought to fix the problem. There is also no acess to the river, as the cabin is more than 100 feet above on a steep cliff." The river trail" leads to a private home with signs stating KEEP OUT NO TRESPASSING!!!!! Very Disapointting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Plus the cabin smelled like dirty socks.

Disappointed
The Area this vacation rental was in was very beautiful. After learning the home was ready for our stay we headed out on our vacation. The home was not very clean. Upon opening the front door we were greeted by a mouse trap that my husband had to empty as soon as we arrived. We planned to cook our meals but the oven was in horrible condition. The bathroom was not nice at all. Large amount of hair in the drain, sink was very dirty. We enjoyed sitting on the deck in the morning but come night not so much. A bear came to this cabin three nights in a row and tried to get into our truck. Clearly this bear knows to look for food at this rental.Made us very nervous at night to even take our dogs out. We will come back to the Yaak, but will not be interested in renting this home again.

Hello Theresa, thank you for taking the time to leave your review. The homeowner has asked us to pass along the following message:
-We try our best to provide an excellent experience for all guests, but sometimes external factors are simply out of our control, such as the wildlife in the area
-We have been doing this for many years and being in the woods, varmints have the potential to sneak in
-We regularly inspect the home and have mouse traps set, due to the nature of the location
-Bears are in the area, yet we have no way to deter them. We apologize that the house did not meet your standards
-The right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed that this wasn't the one for you
-We apologize for the impact this had on your vacation experience and we appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve the experience for all of our future guests. Thank you
Perfect disconnection destination. Great location to spend time for day trips to local adventures or just hanging out with Mother Nature.. Highly recommend and we can't wait to go back!!
The cabin was perfect for 6 of us. We felt like we were away from everything. Owner was great for info on everything we needed.
Place was clean, Had everything we needed and we enjoyed our time at the cabin. The local area is beautiful. We would stay here again for sure.
We loved our stay at the Yaak cabin. It is very cozy and the setting is unbeatable. Our hostess Tami couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming.

Gorgeous Cabin
We had a great stay at the Yaak River Hideaway! The cabin had everything we needed for a great stay. The views were spectacular and very relaxing. This was exactly what we needed. Thank you, Tami, for being such a gracious hostess!! We would highly recommend the Yaak River Hideaway!
Unplug and get away from everything & enjoy nature!
The whole cabin was great, but our favorite part was the deck. We spent hours there looking down at the river below us, watching the hummingbirds, and reading. The whole property was very private and it was a treat to be able to walk down the (steep!) hill to our own private spot on the river. As Tami promised, we caught some fish right there on the Yaak River. :)
The living room was comfortable with two recliners. We ate all our meals out on the deck, but we used the kitchen table for playing games. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook at home. The beds were really comfortable.
We were there during an unusual heatwave and we were SO thankful that the hosts had just purchased a new AC. That and the many fans in the home kept us cool.
We found great swimming spots close to the cabin: Yaak Falls (5 min) and Yaak RIver (10 min.) Campgrounds. Troy was only about 20 minutes away, and we could get cell coverage there. It was actually nice to be really unplugged at the cabin with no wifi and cell coverage. We read lots of books!
This was a wonderful place to really relax in nature!
Our long weekend at the Yaak River Hideaway was even better than we could have imagined! The privacy and seclusion was exactly what we were seeking. The cabin was so cozy and clean and we were able to just relax and enjoy! Gorgeous views off the deck and plenty of space to play and enjoy a fire. Tami and Dave were so accommodating and wonderful. We will absolutely be back soon!!
The Yaak river Hideaway was absolutely delightful!!!
We came to visit a friend who has started a homestead in this area. Guarantee that we found the most wonderful, comfortable, cozy cabin on the Yaak river to spend a few days. Tammy was so accommodating and checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed for a stay in this remote mountain location! We forgot coffee and sure enough there was some here welcomed to be used!! The cabin felt like home and we had the greatest time!!!! And you CANNOT beat the view!! Wow!
Tami and Dave are kind, caring, welcoming Hosts. Their property is in a breathtaking location. Everything you need along with cozy, comfy extras were provided. We had the best vacation, which we will fondly think about often!
This is a totally peaceful place to recharge. Woodsy, with a lovely back deck looking down onto the river. Lots of charming outdoor space to explore, have a picnic, play horseshoes. Master bedroom and the bathroom are on the main floor. The other bedrooms are up a narrow spiral staircase - best for kids and agile adults.
