Nice place to vacation. Relaxing stay. Host Amanda is very accommodating! Answers questions fast. The cabin is well stocked and comfortable. I stay here at least twice per year and always enjoy my stay.
Cabin was clean and spacious for our family of 9. Fishing was excellent, neighbors were cool, canoe & paddleboat are included and were highlight for the kids... overall a great experience and we'd definitely come back.
Place was perfect. Had everything we needed. And phone service while in WiFi which was even better to be unplugged. Highly recommended. Can’t wait to go back next year.
This trip was a very short stay for us as we were in the area for a family funeral. We like staying in home rentals since we enjoy the ability to be outdoors as much as possible. This rental is rather rustic, and we knew that going in. The facilities met our needs for this brief trip.

Worked well for our group
We have a cabin nearby, just needed extra sleeping space for our large holiday gathering. This served that purpose quite well.
Bedrooms and bathroom were small but adequate for our needs. Thought the remodel could have been done better as light switches were in odd places and one bedroom does not even have a switch. Was happy with the internet and cell reception, as we know they are not very good in that area. Nice view of the lake. Wanted to go down to the lake Saturday night to see the moon but could not due to a large growling dog in the back yard. I believe it belonged to the people next door, but I didn't stay out long enough to ask. This was our first VRBO experience. Overall, things went well and if we have the need, would use VRBO again.
The cabin is cute and the location is beautiful. The owner was extremely responsive, and that was greatly appreciated! The only negative thing is, it feels like this place could use a deep cleaning. When you rent this vrbo, you are responsible for cleaning the place for the next guest, which is completely fine, however it doesn't really "feel" completely clean when you arrive. Otherwise this place is really nice, and you can tell they have done many updates. I would definitely stay again, and recommend to others.
Other than this, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again!
PEOPLE, there is no cleaning fee....so please clean b4 u leave! B respectful and responsible.Very basic cabin w a beautiful view of the lake, far more private than expected. Out door gas grill was put to use, along w the fire pit. Comfortable surroundings and easy access. Walk in shower a plus. Window ac's kept the cabin very comfortable. We loved the surround radio set up!! The kitchen was stocked enough to cook some great meals. There is no real beachy area on the direct lake access, but there is a beautiful beach just around the bend that we took advantage of it. We floated on the water, had a few beverages and enjoyed. I would 100 percent return to this cabin if I was staying in this area. 2 of the 3 beds are comfortable, bunk bed...yaa... it is made for kids. I can't state enough... no cleaning fee... please help keep it that way... pick up after urself!!
We drove 4 hours to cabin. The cabin was so dirty,. Dirt, blood stain on mattresses. Cabin smelled... not the usual must smell for a cabin. So many issues. My dad just got out of hospital. It was not a safe environment for him.

There was no smell in the cabin, dirt, or blood. There was one small spot on a rubber mat, but that was it.
Cute cabin. Games to play were appreciated. Plenty of seating to just hang out. Kitchen is small but useable. We brought a folding table to use as additional counter/tabletop space. The king sized beds in the rooms were both comfortable. The bunk bed was obnoxiously loud anytime one of the kids moved but its an older metal bed so to be expected. The TV's are not all smart tv's. Only of note because it had been so long since we had run into that. If that is something you'd want bring a DVD player or something with. If you like luxury this is not the cabin for you. This is very much so a perfect hunters cabin. Or a cabin for someone who does not care about all the frills. It worked perfectly for us because we are not frilly people. I'd love to go back in the summer and be able to enjoy the picnic tables out overlooking the water and the firepit.

Quirky but works if you're OK cleaning & bringing things
Our family (all adults) stayed here while attending a wedding in the area and this cabin suited what we needed. When I booked the cabin, I saw that we needed to bring our own bedding and towels. However, I was surprised to get info from the owner shortly before our stay indicating that we also needed to bring pillows and needed to vacuum, take all trash & recycling with us, and "give the toilet a swish and a wipe" before leaving. Since this is not the norm for a VRBO, it would be helpful to have all of the info in the listing. It seemed more like staying at our own place without the benefits of ownership. As a side note, it seemed like the carpeting had not been recently vacuumed when we arrive so we left it nicer than we found it. Seems like the owners want to make a little money to pay property taxes and not have the responsibilities that usually go along with a VRBO.

We have our guests do light cleaning instead of charging large cleaning fees like a lot of VRBO’s do. Sorry if that wasn’t clear to you before. Also, the carpet was vacuumed prior to your stay. It is just old carpet that we are in the process of getting replaced.
This place is fantastic!! (We were 2 families with children ages 2-8.) They have all the amenities you could need. Plenty of firewood. Lots of space. Great, quiet location. There’s a canoe and 2 pedal boats available to use. Nice grill with an extra propane tank we ended up switching out on the second night. Nearby beach was a nice little spot.
Honestly, the pictures don’t do it justice! We were pleasantly surprised at how big the cabin was and by the layout in general.
I want to make a point to say that the reviews complaining about “cleanliness” can blame the previous renters. One of the great things about this place is the price. It’s affordable because they don’t charge an arm and a leg for cleaning fees. You’re on the honor system: be an adult and clean up after yourself. If everyone leaves the place in at LEAST the condition they found it in, everyone will have a great experience! (I was raised to leave places in better condition than I found them in, so hopefully you’ll consider doing the same.)
Check in was easy, owners were friendly and willing to accommodate our date change request. We didn’t experience a single problem. It’s not fancy, but it’s awesome. Just remember to bring sheets, pillows, towels, and life vests!
Large firepit for daily fires was great for our group of 9.
You can clearly see the stars. We saw an epic display of starlinks in the sky one night.
Canoe is very solid. We caught a 40 inch pike off the canoe and another 26 inch pike.
Swimming in the backyard is fine. The bottom is muddy and you can swim out to the lilly pads. It is shallow 5 1/2 feet far out.
Swimming in the beach for your normal beach swim with sand.
We took walks and ate a lot of ice cream from the shop nearby.
We drove and went hiking to multiple mounds, to get some high elevation and see epic sights.
We bought food from the Amish.
Indoors, we brought our firestick to watch internet tv and it worked perfectly.
We played our own board games indoors.
Everything is a pretty long drive 15 - 40 minutes away from here (gas stations, hiking spots, etc).
The house has a lot of imperfections, like misaligned wood, visible pipe, shower tile not leveled. I'm not that picky so this is obviously not a deal breaker for me.
A little bit dusty and random stuff on top of fridge, again not that picky.
9.5/10 I would recommend if you like what you heard.

Disappointed is a good way to put it
We had a relaxing weekend, but not because of the cabin itself.
We arrived and were met with ants on the kitchen counters, a dead mouse on the bedroom floor and numerous dry, dirty towels hanging up in the kitchen and bathroom areas. The bed in the bedroom nearest to the kitchen was sandy and had toothpicks on it, and the fire pit had empty beer cans in it. The floors seemingly hadn’t been vacuumed by the previous guests (even though the checkout instructions clearly state to do that) and a lot of the surfaces were neglected/dirty.
I was told before the trip (and after I paid) that the cabin no longer had access to the canoe that is referenced in the listing. Quite a bummer considering that was one of the main reasons I picked this place. I was also told the cabin still had access to a paddle boat, but that was submerged in the lake after one night of rain.
We went during a pretty cold/rainy weekend (which I do not recommend) and despite the conditions of the place, had a lot of fun. The TV area is great for reading, playing games and watching DVDs. The bed in the room near the wood burning stove was also extremely comfortable.
We met Dave, the next door neighbor, and he was a blast to talk to. Very interesting guy with some cool stories to share. We also got to fish from the dock (the best part of this place) the last day we were there.
Go here when the weather is nice. Skip it when it’s not. The best part about this place is the outdoor space.
I took photos of everything we encountered during our first night. I also snapped some pics, on the day we left, of the improved nature in which we left it. It’s a shame such an enjoyable trip started off on such a bad note.

We’re sorry you weren’t satisfied at the condition in which you found the cabin. If you had contacted one of the 5 phone numbers listed on the fridge, we could have taken care of any concerns. Also, I told you about the canoe being gone as soon as I found out. I would have happily cancelled your reservation and refunded all money if you preferred to find a place that does have one. Also, we are working on getting a new one so we hope one is available for use in the future.
