Although the location and size of the property was good the pictures are not a true representation of how clean the property was. The place was falling to bits, chairs very dirty and badly marked, blinds mouldy to list a few.
Lovely place, cozy and in a great location for walking to Ambleside, Rydal and the surrounding fells.
It was a shame to find that the cottage was not cleaned properly before we arrived - very dusty, carpet not hoovered and the sofas are really grubby and smell really bad so not that pleasent to relax on after a long day in the fells. Also a strong smell of urine in the en-suite bathroom.
There was also an issue with the hot water during our stay - the shower was only ever luke warm.
Enjoyed our stay but probably would'nt stay again because of poor cleanliness and wanting a hot shower.

Wonderful country cottage on edge of Ambleside!
This was a great home base for us to explore the Lake District! We really liked the property and its location on the outskirts of town. The rental is the front section of the house as pictured, there are one or two other units on the back side. This was not a problem, but was not clear from the property description. Would be nice to have a lock box on property to not have to drive out of the way to pick up and drop off the key. Also would be nice to have a few more basic supplies in the kitchen like dish soap, paper towels, and laundry detergent.

Great location, facilities. Will revisit!
We had a wonderful time staying here on Christmas. . The cottage was clean and very well equipped. It was a real home from home. Views are lovely. The town of Ambleside has all the shops you need and many good places to eat out. We were never at a loss for something to do and wished we had more time. The cottage has amazing views and was comfortably furnished and well equipped for 3 adults and 2 children. We will definitely be back next year.:)We never forget this wonderful time in this Miraculous house...

Nice house, good location
Two double bedrooms, one single, and a twin. Big lounge and kitchen all located on the outskirts of Ambleside (a nice 10min stroll into town). Stayed here for a week and enjoyed it. The only one negative is the parking. You can park just opposite the house, or in the drive. The drive is extremely narrow though, so its not a case of driving straight in. Its more annoying than anything, and I wouldn't let that put you off.
