The space
A historic Broad Street furniture and music warehouse that recently underwent a multi-million dollar conversion while maintaining original architecture according to Federal and State historic guidelines. We essentially maintained all the unique and classic features of this beautiful old building and renovated it completely to today's standards. We kept quaint features like the 100 year old heart pine hardwood floors and pressed tin ceilings and added modern amenities such as HVAC, skylights, atrium's and elevator. It would be a challenge to find a more unique location than this condo right on West Broad Street in the Arts District.
Unique coffee shops, clothing and music stores, fine restaurants are just steps away outside your door. Enjoy downtown RVA in this totally revised neighborhood located between two universities (VCU and MCV). Situated across the street from the Virginia Repertory Theater. Next door to the new Bar Solita, Quirk Hotel (with rooftop bar), City of Richmond Police Headquarters, Perly's and Tarrants. If you love great food, Richmond is serious about delivering meals and spaces that exceed your expectations.
Btw, the largest food festival in Virginia occurs each year right out front of this property. Join us as we close down 5 blocks of West Broad Street and throw the biggest food and music festival in Virginia! "Broad Appetit Food Festival". This benefit for the Central Virginia Foodbank occurs in downtown RVA the first Sunday in June yearly! Over 35-40k attendees have shown up for this one day event (We help coordinate all the entertainment with over 14 bands and 2 stages) and it happens right our Metro Sound front door each year.
Simply put, this is a great city-central location that offers everything to the discerning Richmond traveler or businessperson. Keep in mind that a new Pulse Rapid Transit system was just completed out front of the building. It takes you 8 miles quickly down West Broad. Also, parking is readily available with several options within a block or so.

This is truly located in the “Heart” of the Arts District in RVA. The condo is a comfortable and clean space with huge windows to watch the city move below. We were able to walk to everything we had planned therefore we used the daily parking behind the building for a minimal cost. We enjoyed staying in this little oasis in the middle of the city!
We chose to stay in this location hoping to walk around town. However we did not feel safe in doing so. The parking situation was not ideal as we struggled particularly on the weekends. The Manager Tommy was very nice
Property was just as described. Management was very responsive to questions and quick to answer any concerns, which there was only one. Perfect location within walking distance to many great restaurants, theaters and shopping spots. We will definitely stay again when we return to Richmond.
My second stay with Mark thorough VRBO; again, it was a great stay. Amenities were great, location is stellar. Mark and his time went above and beyond. Will stay again if ever back in Richmond!

It was a pleasure hosting you Jacob, I'm glad you enjoyed your time here in Richmond's Arts District! We look forward to hosting you again the next time you are in town!
The art district is amazing and this unit is smack in the middle to be able to access both downtown and per take in all the activities the district has to offer. The unit was extremely clean and had a great view. We loved our stay here and will stay again if returning on business in the near future.

I really loved this place! Clean and neat and had everything I needed. The hosts were very helpful. I recommend this place highly! Lots of great places to eat in the area and an easy walk to local stores, museums and beautiful neighborhoods...fall colors were amazing.
Thank you for 3 wonderful days!
This place was clean and spacious. It was a nice place to spend a week and would likely be nice for longer. I do not think you could do much better in Richmond!

Although we usually stay in hotels when we are in town only for a couple of nights, we decided to try this condo, and are glad we did. Although it is not downtown, it is right on Broad Street so easy to get to other places. There was reasonably priced parking behind the building which worked out well. The condo was beautiful, with original floors, 16 foot ceilings, and very modern and clean. Mark communicated frequently with us, and the whole checkin process went well. It was nice to have our own space with a living room and kitchen to relax in after being out in the heat all day. Great place!

Thanks for leaving such a nice review. Glad you could appreciate the work it took me to get this place looking like this. Btw, you stayed in the same condo I put my parents in when they visit...although I like several others as well. :-)
The unit is even better than the photos. The high ceilings and large windows give a spacious feel. We checked in on a Monday which was a day the "office" (music store downstairs) was closed but the communication was great and the check in went smoothly. The apartment faces a busy street so there was street noise. You can watch all the activity down below from the big windows. The bedroom doesn't have a window but it was cozy and the bed was comfy. The Arts District is an up and coming area so there are lots of restaurants and eclectic shops, however it still has some derelict spots. Overall it's cool and interesting area. Definitely recommend this rental.

Short term rentals are not new to me. I have over two hundred Five Star reviews on another rental platform. Self employed for nearly 30 years, musician, businessman, a pioneer of downtown RVA. Started a music business here back in 1991 and have called this my home ever since. Downtown RVA has come a long way and I'm glad to have done my part to get it to where it is today. I was here when it was almost ghost town. My radio and television commercials always said to come visit us "in the new downtown". I knew it might take a while but someday that would be true and now it is! I hope
Why they chose this property
Why this property? It's total karma in a way. This place used to be a Stieff piano retailer in 1909. I'm a piano player and started a music store (having no idea that pianos where sold here years ago before I bought the place). All the steel in the buildings originally came from Carnegie, place my parents grew up and fell in love in (many of my uncles worked in the Carnegie steel mills and may have helped create this steel too). It's just a lot of unique coincidences that I found out about over time. So, why not this building and business, I think it was meant to be. I was just fearless and young enough (26) to say why not?
What makes this property unique
This city central location is just great. There are so many unique places to eat and shop right out your door. These are all stand alone businesses. There are no Starbucks, Gap or Guitar Center but we do have Lift, Ledbury and Metro Sound. That is what makes us different and totally worth the effort to come visit. Downtown has finally made it back and I'm still standing after nearly 30 years of being in business. You will not be on your own, my staff and I are here working in the music shop almost daily and can assist as much or as little as you like.
