You'll feel right at home the moment you arrive at the ‘Hudson House.'
Built in 1928 by our great-grandparents, Hudson House is one of the original Adirondack tourist homes and pairs modern day comforts with age-old charm to create a getaway that is as delightful as it is convenient.
This gracious home has 4,100 square feet of living space that maintains its historic charm while incorporating modern updates and brand new furnishings.
Open the door to find a beautiful main floor with a gourmet kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and multiple conversation areas. Refuel the crew with a home-cooked feast. The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances and ample space to assist with any dish. Set out appetizers on the large island before the main course is served in the dining room. Relax after dinner in the gathering room - where comfortable couches surround the locally mined Garnet rock gas fireplace and a flat-screen TV. Or, retreat out front to the expansive porch to put your feet up with a glass of wine or cup of coffee and watch the river.
Our younger (or young at heart) guests can also move the fun downstairs to the fully furnished basement to watch a movie on the flat-screen TV or engage in a friendly game of ping pong in the adjacent room.
The basement also contains one very special renovation done with skiers, hikers, rafters and adventurers in mind. The “Rack Room” is a large, climate controlled, area with ski/snowboard racks, clothes drying racks, cubbies, hooks for camping gear, washer/dryer and ample seating for gearing up. Accessible directly from the back porch, guests can store all of their gear downstairs without cluttering up bedrooms or bathrooms on the main levels.
When your day in the mountains is complete, go up the original staircase to our 5 second floor bedrooms. Each bedroom is as unique as the ski runs they are named after with 3 Queen beds, 1 King bed, and a white birch bunk bed. Two more bathrooms provide guests with a luxurious choice between the “Moose” walk-in shower or a relaxing soak in the antique tub. Finally, the third-floor attic loft has two twin beds (with space for an additional 2 twin air mattresses). Add window seats and a sitting area with a TV and you have the perfect space for our younger guests to claim as “their own clubhouse. ”
The appeal of the ‘Hudson House’ does not end indoors. Each season brings its own unique beauty to the ‘Hudson House” property. Be sure to explore our 2 acres of backyard woods where the only sounds are the trickling creeks and crunching leaves. Nice day outside? Change up your usual routine with a picnic in the Adirondack Summer House, a walk on our trail or just sit on a rock overlooking Raymond Brook with a camera in hand. The property also extends across the street to the Hudson River. Our private riverbank access has gorgeous views of the water and lots of places to dip in your toes.

We had group of 16 people on the New Year and the house was more than enough for us. Very clean and well soundproofed (my hub was snoring). Close to Gore MT which was very helpfull. Thank you Nancy for hosting

Matthew and his group were a pleasure to host. Great communication, the house was left in excellent condition and they followed all house rules. We would love to welcome them back.
EXCELLENT! The property was as advertised and immaculate with a full stocked modern kitchen. Bedrooms were just perfect for the whole group. Plenty of activities for all type family members within 30-45 minutes driving time and views of the Hudson River which really added scenic charm.

Thank you for staying with us and capturing the aspects that make Hudson House such a good fit for family reunions. The river view is my favorite as well. You are welcome back anytime.
Hudson House had everything we needed. So roomy that the 17 of us were able to enjoy different parts of the house. The teens played ping pong, the adult males watched movies, the adult women played cards on the enclosed front porch and the three little girls played with their toys where ever they wanted to because they was enough room for everyone. So many activities to do.

Nancy’s house is beautiful and perfect for a large ski group - lots of space for gear, cooking, and relaxing. She’s a great, responsive host, and we’re already planning next year’s return trip.

Thank you for your review and the compliments. We would love to have you return! You were great guests and clearly made the effort to take good care of the house. Take care and see you in March!
Big house for large families and friends located close to Gore mountain. We had a really good time staying at Hudson House and skiing Gore mountain. Kids had more than enough space to play and enjoy the house after skiing and parents had enough space to relax after a fun day at the mountain. Great location, clean house, easy check-in/out, friendly owner, clear instructions and much more.

Thank you to your group for your kind words and for being such considerate guests. The Hudson House has been in our family for 92 years and we have always felt that the house was made for people to relax, find their favorite spaces and enjoy time with family and friends. It is nice to see we aren't just biased. We appreciate you staying with us and it would be our pleasure to welcome you back!
We had a marvelous time at the Hudson House. Everything was pretty much as advertised. Teens had a great time exploring and hanging out by the river. If fate ever finds us back in North Creek we would definitely stay at the HH again.

Second time we rented this house this winter. The house is perfect for a weekend ski trip. The boot room in the basement makes getting ready a breeze, even with a bunch of kinds under 9.

Thank you for being such great guests each time. You definitely had the knack for bringing the snow with you! The rack room is a favorite, I tell our Aunt (who designed it) that of all of the remodeling they did - nothing gets more compliments. Take care and hope to see you next year. Nancy
Everything about this house was thoughtfully chosen and designed: the coffee bar, laundry room and gear room. The house is bigger than the pictures. The house was immaculate and the gear room was easy to use. My adult kids had a great time playing ping pong downstairs. We traveled to the Hudson House for a family wedding. We really enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to returning.

Thank you for such a thoughtful review. The house is an optical illusion, it doesn't look that big from the outside either! I'm so glad you enjoyed your time at the house and we would love to welcome you back,
From booking to the end of our stay at the Hudson House, Nancy was extremely helpful and accommodating. The house and property are well maintained. The house makes you feel at home, very cozy atmosphere. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Melisa, thank you for such kind words. It was my pleasure to host such a considerate group. I'd love to host you again for the 75th! Nancy
We loved our stay at the Hudson House. It was a multi-family getaway where we tried to balance online work/school with some skiing time. The house easily accommodated us and the WiFi handled multiple streaming and zoom calls throughout our stay with no disruption. Gore mountain was minutes away making it easy to shuttle back and forth. We would definitely go back!

This is our second stay at the Hudson House. We love the location, so close to Gore Mountain. Nancy is a fantastic host and her home is so well equipped with everything we need, particularly in the kitchen. Makes planning meals so much easier! And whoever she has as a cleaning service deserves extra props because the house is spotless. We hope to be back again next year!
We are from Michigan and brought 35 kids to the Word of Life Camp Facilities in Pottersville & Schroon Lake, New York. We needed a place for 11 adults and 1 infant to stay and this worked out perfectly. We thank the owner for all of her help and want her to know that her beautiful was refreshing and very relaxing! Thank you!

We absolutely loved staying at your beautiful home. We made lots of amazing memories with the tubing down the river , going to the top of Gore mountain , and relaxing by the fire at night sharing everyone’s high/low of the day !! It suited our large family perfectly and was very clean and a well stocked kitchen was great to have !! Thank you also for always getting back to me with any questions that we had … the only thing that was a little scary was the road and how fast people go but there were lots of breaks in between the cars so we could cross ….thanx again !

Josie, thank you for such a detailed and gracious review. You definitely highlighted what makes the Hudson House special. I am so glad you did the tube drop off up the road and coming in on our riverbank. That is always fun. It was a pleasure hosting you and I would be happy to welcome you back. Nancy
Every year our friends 13-15 of us do a long weekend together. This house was fantastic. The living room is very cozy with a beautiful fireplace.
The place was the cleanest place we have ever rented. The beds were very comfortable.
The owner was very attentive and always answered all my questions very quickly.
We enjoyed this place so much that our group wants to come back again.
Thanks for opening your amazing home. We had hours of laughter and made many memories.

You are so welcome! I'm so glad the Hudson House was a source of comfort and laughter for you and your friends - especially during 2020! We would love to welcome you back. Take care! Nancy
Nicely updated, well maintained, beautiful house. Everything is well organized and the owner makes it easy to stay there. Everything clean from top to bottom. Peaceful walks in the back yard. Dunkley falls/black hole for swimming nearby is a must. The front porch is perfect for coffee or just relaxing all day. Road in front of the house has some speed demons so be careful crossing. Owner gives great directions for all aspects of the stay so no confusion on what you need to do. Highly recommend :)

This property was great! Nancy is the perfect host and will answer all and any questions you may have.
Anything you may need for the house is all located locally within 20 minutes from the house.
The house is in such a great area with beautiful scenery right next to the Hudson River. It has a cute gazebo in the back just into the woods with a small fire pit that is perfect for having s’mores with your friends and family at night.
Farther into the woods of the property you will find a small waterfall/watering hole!
It sleeps so many people and comfortably too! I could not have asked for a better host.
I will definitely be re-booking here!

Gore Mountain - Beautiful Property Large Home great location
This home delivers! Five minute drive to Gore Mountain - impeccably clean and well appointed - best “ski room” for gear. We had three families together for a ski weekend. More than enough room for everyone - great hangout space both on the lowest level as well as the very cool third floor bunk room for our children. Beautiful views of the river and a short hike on the property to a gorgeous waterfall. The property owner was available and attentive - we had an issue and someone was on-sight to address it within an hour. We VRBO ski homes 2x per year. This home easily earned our five star rating. A pleasure.

The pleasure was ours as well. At the core, the Hudson House is a family home and I sincerely appreciate guests who treat the house as their own. I especially want to thank you for being so understanding about the water heater thermostat . Those once a decade breakdowns never happen when I'm there so your grace and humor as we worked out the solution easily earns you VIP status in my mind as well. You are welcome back anytime! Nancy
About the host
Hosted by Nancy Riding
Why they chose this property
Our great grandparents designed and built the The Hudson House in 1928 as an "Adirondack tourist home". Since then, the house has been a fixture for our family and the families of our repeat guests - who have come to stay 5 to 25 years in a row. So, when we given the opportunity to continue this unique legacy, we gladly became the fourth generation owners.
What makes this property unique
Through out the house, the House's history is preserved in its original wood trim, staircase, doors with antique doorknobs, the garnet fireplace. The feeling of warmth and comfort is unmistakable. Favorite spots inside: the window seat in the attic facing the woods and the reclining chair on the front porch with its morning view of the river. Outside: Wading out to sit on the large rock in the Hudson.
