Good place for large groups. Ours was adjoining suites and was comfortable for the 10 of us. One unit was very clean and the other was clean “enough” to not complain about. Bathroom needed a deeper clean in one unit and stair railings were sticky. Nothing though that would cause me to not utilize the property again. Location was great and linens were clean! It was a good stay for our family.
We were 7 women who studied at university together 56 years ago. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in the Base Camp units - excellent bedrooms and living spaces. The kitchen was well stocked and it was easy to prepare the meals. Our units were close to downtown and across from a lovely old pub. Thanks so much for everything!
We rented two units (6 bedrooms) for our extended family - - 8 adults, 4 children, 1 infant -- and stayed for a week.
Pros: spotlessly clean, walking distance to grocery stores, helpful receptionist. Everything in the units was in working order. Door code makes for easy entry. Beds were very comfortable. Kids liked seeing the trains go by! There is extra street parking just a block or so away. Convenient for enjoying the walking trails through Canmore.
Cons: These are short-term rental units. They are not someone's vacation home, so there are none of the extras often found in a VRBO -- no books, games, spices, etc. Cooking equipment was minimal, just barely adequate. Two of the three bedrooms in each unit have no closet, just a few hooks on the wall. Communication with the owners was poor -- I send two messages through VRBO asking about extra parking spaces and never got a response. The AI Chatbot said there were no cribs, portacribs, or high chairs at the units, so we brought our own, but then we saw the cleaning staff moving a portacrib into another unit.
All in all, it was a satisfactory stay, but with a few inconveniences.
Great weekend with a family of 11. We had 2 adjoining 3 bedroom units that provided plenty of good sleeping space and room to gather to enjoy food and fun. Clean and well equipped.
Rented 2 3-bedroom apartments that had an adjoining door. Place was well equipped for linen and kitchen material. We had a great time. It is close to the tracks which didn’t bother me but can bother some. They do provide ear plugs. The hot tub is a bit small for a big place like this but that is mostly nit picking. Be aware of the parking restrictions if you come with a big group. Overall, I’d definitely recommend it.
Great place....but no dressers in rooms. Right near freight train tracks. Great location...near stores and restaurants. Right off highway to ski areas and attractions.
Very nice, clean. Easy check-in. Near the freight tracks, so can be a little noisy at night. No dressers. Great location - walk to stores and restaurants and bars.
