The property is exactly what we hoped for. The rooms are spacious and the living area is perfect for a small group. We loved the location, it’s walkable to Galveston area and to the river.
We had an amazing family weekend at this location! We enjoyed the cozy setting and close access to shops, restaurants etc. very quiet neighborhood made for restful sleep!
This place is wonderful! The location is perfect, it was clean, spacious, and had an unbelievable guidebook that helped us enjoy all sorts of local places. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
We had a very good stay at this house! The property was very clean, the beds were very comfortable, the internet was fast and reliable and the kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed for cooking meals. The location was perfect, a walking distance from downtown. The host was very responsive.

Great house - close to everything!
Great house for groups. Lots of space. Bedrooms are nicely spaced out to allow for privacy. Love that there are many different touchdown areas, one downstairs, an office etc.
Will be staying here again on future trips to Bend!

Thank you! We tried to design this family size home to be very user-friendly, with plenty of room to gather (but also to separate) when needed. Glad it worked so well for you guys!
One of my favorite parts about The Park House West is its great location, so named because she nestles within four blocks of 3 wonderful Bend parks (two right n the River itself) Then add in the breweries, food cart court, eclectic local dining, bike and ski shops that you can easily walk to and we agree, that makes her pretty darn wonderful. I invite you to come back in warm weather for a Bend Summer treat! Thanks again!
My husband and I and our doggo visited family in Bend in May and this rental was in such a perfect location, we couldn't have asked for more. The home was super clean and well equipped for anything you want to do. Located in a sweet neighborhood with friendly neighbors and an easy walk to the river, a great park with a playground, several restaurants, breweries, cute shops, you name it. I would stay here again for sure.
Stayed with another couple at this great place in Bend...good clean house...very close to bars and restaurants ..three nice bedrooms and two baths...nice office space and TV room...kitchen was well equiped...two suggestions....The BBQ is on it's last legs and should be replaced and it would be nice to have a garage for skis...
We have stayed in Bend every summer for 10+ years and it's difficult to find a better location. We walked to Drake Park for the summer concert series one night, walked to shopping in Old Mill, walked our tubes to the river every day to enjoy the white water park and float back to Drake Park, walked to dinner, gelato, downtown and basically everywhere we wanted to go in town. Not to mention the mountain bike trails just 4 miles away that you could ride to if you wanted. Just a great location overall and plenty of space to have a family enjoy the dowstairs family room while others talk at the front of the house. I will have no problem booking this property again in the future. Thank you.
Good location; very spacious, well equipped kitchen, although we did not cook. Two suggestions:
1. Be nice to have Kleenex in the bathrooms; this is pretty standard, like toilet paper. We had to go out and buy it.
2. I have NEVER been requested to launder towels and take out garbage; we had a very busy morning and it was time consuming to figure out the washer/dryer and get it done, especially after paying the cleaning fee.
Regardless, I would certainly recommend River West to anyone visiting Bend.

Not sure why this is rated so highly
The house had visible cobwebs and dust throughout and especially in the kitchen. The pots were all scratched and peeling nonstick so I went to Walmart and bought a cast iron just for this stay. The host ignored my request to check in early and was hard to reach in general. Parts of the house needed maintenance. They do not have enough hooks or towel bars that work to hang wet towels. The shower is weak which is a shame. The bedrooms do not offer good sleep hygiene and you can see holes where people have tried to pin blackout curtains. The bedrooms are east facing and so you will wake at first light. Also not having blackout shades or a way to block the light means the house heats up quickly. I almost wanted to write the owner a letter to warn them against their property management company. They aren’t doing a very good job at all.

Thank you for taking the time to review our house, though I wish you would have taken the time to call when you were visiting as well so we could have chatted about your concerns. The best part about being a local host is that I am available to help address any needs that may arise during a guest stay quickly and efficiently if given the chance. You did reach out via the VRBO messaging app twice (which reaches us via email so there can be a lag), but even then I responded personally within an hour each time... ironically, with no response from you. This house is rated so high because its a great house, in a great location, and we take good care of it. Your suggestion about blackout shades was a great one! We installed new blackout shades in all the windows in both upstairs bedrooms this week, with plans to install them in the main level King bedroom next week since they look so great. I've been running this house as a vacation rental for over a decade now and similar small changes we can make as a result of well-meant constructive feedback has allowed us to keep this house as a guest favorite over time.

GREAT place for a "Home Base" - access to everything!
We stayed in this comfortable home with another couple, and there was plenty of room to spread out. Lisa was fantastic in working with us and assisting with the rental details, and was extremely responsive. When we arrived the house was very clean, and the amenities were wonderful (thank you for having fresh coffee beans available for that first morning!). The split level design allowed us to have privacy while watching TV in the den area, while others were relaxing/reading in living room. We did not use the hot tub, right off the kitchen area, but perhaps next time! Initially, I was concerned that there wasn't an enclosed back yard for our dog, but the front yard was fenced, and completely adequate. We were able to walk to the river/park within 5 minutes and over to the Old Mill area within 15 minutes, using the walking path along the river. We were close to all the restaurants on Newport and to the downtown area. Loved walking our dog to the Overturf Butte dog park at the end of Elgin St. We rode our mountain bikes from the house, to the Phil's trails and beyond, again using the convenient trail systems in the area. We would recommend this house to anyone coming to Bend who wishes to relax, play and know that they will enjoy their stay!

It sounds like you had the perfect Bend trip! We love the bike trails around the city and into the wilderness through Phil's Trail. It is so much more fun to discover the sites on two wheels. Thank you for being our guests at The Park House West during your adventures. Next time you come, you really do need to enjoy an evening soak in the hot tub as it is icing on the cake! We hope to have you again during your next visit.
Worked out perfect, easy walk to town, quiet place

About the host
Hosted by Erin Woods
My husband and I have been managing and renting vacation homes here in our hometown of Bend, Oregon for over 17 years with our business, Home Spun LLC, and we love what we do! All the vacation homes in our Home Spun LLC exclusive collection provide distinctive alternatives to traditional lodging in Central Oregon. Our places provide a one-of-a-kind experience by offering amazing downtown locations, top of the line amenities, and personal service. We are picky about which homes we represent. Each home has been handpicked so our guests can experience an inviting and unique vacation with privacy, scenic surroundings, recreational opportunities just moments away, and the amazing city of Bend at your feet.
Why they chose this property
All of the vacation homes we manage are located in the Galveston Avenue District or Historic Downtown Bend area. We love that our guests can park their car and explore all the best parts of our city on foot or by bike, getting a real chance to fall in love with our sweet little city.
What makes this property unique
My favorite feature about The Park House West: room separation. The layout of this house is amazing, with one king suite downstairs and one king suite on the other end of the house, upstairs. When traveling with two couples, it is ideal because everyone has their own space. When traveling with kids, it's ideal because you can put them to bed and they won't be disrupted by others still moving around the house. The family room is on the complete opposite side of the house as the living room. The office area is far away from the TV area for quiet work. The kitchen is perfectly set right in the middle of it all. Even with large groups, this house magically feels like it fits everything and every need.
