Wonderful location and host! Easy to get to everything we wanted to do: New Orleans, the beach, fishing. It was wonderful to be on the water! There were 8 of us, from 3 generations and the house was large enough for us to spread out and sleep!
We had a great time. Went back and forth to New Orleans a few times for great food and fun. The fishing of the dock was good. The view of fireworks off the top deck was spectacular.
The stay was more than expected . The host was amazing and the nights on the dock enjoying the scenery and the late night fishing was a pleasant surprise for the crew and myself. We really enjoyed and look forward to returning!
We really enjoyed our stay in Slidell - very convenient to New Orleans. Great location with a perfect setup downstairs for fishing, crabbing and entertaining. We will definitely be back. Host was outstanding!
I absolutely enjoyed staying at this property. The host was very accommodating and reached out to check how our stay was going.
We enjoyed fishing and caught a fish over 20 in.
If you are looking to reserves this spot. Just do it, you will not be disappointed.
Awesome get away! It rained a couple times but the area under the house was perfect for that. Caught some crabs off the dock. The house is close enough to the city for an easy day trip. My kids range from 8-17 yrs and all had a great time.

Wonderful stay!
It was great! We loved the views and the place was perfect for our family. The neighbor, Sue, was so sweet. The owners left us a note and made homemade pecan pie for us which I absolutely loved. The location provided a peaceful setting on the water while still allowed easy access to New Orleans. All of the special touches were so thoughtful! Thank you!

Thanks for staying with us, I am so glad you had a good time.
Everything about this property was what we'd expected, and then some. Great location for the activities we'd had planned--swamp tour, Bay St. Louis beach, shark fishing out of Biloxi, MS, and numerous other things, including catching crabs for a crab boil. Butler Ball is a great host, reaching out to see if there was anything we needed, or what he could do to make our trip more fun. I would give this property a 10 star rating if I could.
We enjoyed a WONDERFUL weekend getaway at the camp!! EVERYTHING was so CLEAN, comfortable, and roomy!! The deck was the PERFECT spot to sit and relax while allowing us to remain ‘socially distant’ for hours!! Great views!!
Butler was very thoughtful and squeezed us in on short notice.
We will definitely be back!! Can’t wait!!
Thank you for giving us a break from these crazy times!!

You guys were great guests! Glad you had a good time. Hope to see you again...
System that allowed us to come and go and do AS please through the entire duration of Mardi Gras
We absolutely loved having the fireplace indoor as well as the full kitchen. It was very convenient for soaps and towels, and things like that to be part of the VRBO so that none of those items had to be purchased. We did find ourselves purchasing minimal things and left them for future users of this VRBO all at all, this was fantastic. The only concern that I would suggest is we tried to extend one more day through the property manager, but by the time we heard from the property manager, we had to already have been checked out of the property. Maybe our lack of use of the system, but would have been nice if property manager was able to respond quicker for us. The two other responses we had from him were excellent and quick .

I am so glad you had a good time. I wish I had received your request when you sent it but it was Mardi Gras morning and I had left the house. I get my VRBO requests through e-mail and only get my e-mail through my computer. I get about 100 spam e-mails per day so I need the computer to filter them, I don't get them through my phone. I did revise my info doc renters get to stress they should call or text me for a quicker response.
Thanks for being such an excellent guest!
This place was absolutely perfect for my wife, my son and I. Since it was my son's first trip to my hometown, we did the tourist thing in New Orleans several days and could see the sights and be back to the camp in no time. Very easy drive to the quarter, the Fairgrounds and anywhere else we wanted to go. The property itself was exactly what we were looking for and we enjoyed our afternoons at the dock. We boiled crawfish with the camps pot, cooked on the grill and for the most part, ate all our breakfast and dinners on the dock. The firepit was a great touch since it was a little chilly the first couple of nights. The ice o matic at the downstairs bar was also a great addition. My son caught several keeper redfish, some nice catfish and a couple of black drum bigger than him. The bedrooms were very comfy. We made friends with the neighbors and felt welcomed. We didn't need anything during our visit, but the owner checked on is and I know would have jumped right on it if we did need something. We would definitely stay here again, and now that the sightseeing is out of the way we'll definitely be bringing our boat. Although Captain Kenny next door would have been happy to take us fishing. We enjoyed talking with him and he catches fish. Great place, great stay, absolutely 10/10.

almost happy
The house it's self is nice and open and a great location. First impression was wonderful. But unfortunately as you come in and attempt to put your "stuff" away I was so disappointed to find it was in dire need of a good cleaning. And I'm not just talking about the surfaces and floors, the bathroom draws were nasty ( I couldn't unpack my stuff) the stand up shower and tub were also pretty bad. I wanted to wear flip flops in the shower and that's never good. The kitchen utensils needed to be washed before you could use anything. I think if this house got a serious professional cleaning it would have been great. The other things you can over look. Also we thought for 2 days we didn't have hot water in the upstairs bathroom but my son showed up and figured out the hot water under the sink had been turned off. We found out for good reason, it would leak if you left it on. It's got a nice cozy feel to the house and the location and outdoor setting is perfect so I hate to not give it more stars. But it needs a professional deep cleaning and I'd give it 5 stars.

I was shocked to see the comments in your review. I went back and found I have had 27 prior rentals to yours and not had one comment on housekeeping being a problem...
As far as the bathroom drawers, I took a look at those and they have some flaking paint in the bottoms, as they are older cabinets. I put a fresh coat of paint on the inside of the drawers and so now they look like new.
As far as the shower and tub, they are older and did have some mineral and stain build up. It was not a cleaning issue, they were clean. I did however apply some bleach and other chemicals and got them looking much better.
Not sure what to say about the kitchen utensils, I did not see any issues with them but I ran them all through the dishwasher just to be sure.
No one had ever reported the upstairs lavatory faucet to me, I checked it and it needed an adjustment, that adjustment has now been made and now it works fine.
We stay at our place 50% of the time and really enjoy it. We take great pride in it and we are constantly upgrading it. This is the first bad review I have ever received but I guess the good news is that it resulted in even more improvements and upgrades.
So, hurt feelings aside, I will look on the bright side and just keep making it nicer and better with each visit...
We really enjoyed our time at this property. We stayed in March so the weather was iffy- definitely recommend staying when it's warmer because there is so much to enjoy outside! We loved eating dinner on the upstairs deck, relaxing on the hammock, taking out the canoe, and hanging out by the bar. The indoor space is nice too, with a lot of natural lighting. The jacuzzi tub in the master is relaxing! We enjoyed a fire in the fireplace as well. Overall a great place and we would stay again.
Location is great food was amazing! Nice place for some much needed relaxation and the host great. I was trying not to him bother him but that last night made it Impossible. Thanks Butler for understanding and your help. See you when the weather changes!!
Just a great property. Lots of places in the home that are functional. Lots of tables seating etc. outdoor area under patio was great. Great fishing guide Nextdoor , Kenny. A Pro.

We had a great experience at this house. I’d highly recommend for anyone including families. The kids bedroom can sleep up to 4 and my oldest daughter loved the loft area. We really enjoyed sunsets from the living room and upper deck. Location was perfect for us. Got out of the city each day but an easy drive back each day. It’s in a great position to get to nearby MS beaches too.

About the host
Hosted by Butler Ball
I am a native New Orleanian, this is my sixth camp and definitely the best one I have ever owned. I love fishing and water sports but my wife loves cooking, good food and family time. This "camp" gives us and you the best of both of those worlds. It is really not a "camp" but in this area even million dollar waterfront homes are called camps if you use them on the week-end.
I have owned 6 "camps" but this one is the best ever!
Why they chose this property
This one has it all. Fishing, water sports, crabbing and just relaxing with a water front view. You are only 25 minutes from New Orleans so anything you want to do there is a quick car ride away but you can retreat back to the peace and quiet of the Bayou!
What makes this property unique
Night fishing light on the pier, in fall and winter you can catch right off the dock. If you know how to throw a cast net you can even catch your own live shrimp off the pier!
