Aspen Sunset Log Cabin - surrounded by aspen trees & gorgeous views
** Potential travelers rest assured that we are following all CDC cleaning guidelines to ensure our house is clean and disinfected to satisfy your needs**
You will fall in love with our Aspen Sunset Log Cabin. The log cabin was built in 2003 by the owners that purchased the property in 1970. It was his life dream to build a cabin where family and friends can gather to enjoy holidays, the outdoors and pure relaxation. The cabin is nestled in the aspen trees of the three acre lot, creating complete privacy and breathtaking scenery from the wrap around deck. Serenity awaits you, enjoy a morning cup of coffee, a mimosa, take a nap or read a book snuggled up on the hammocks on the covered porch. The 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom cabin can accommodate 9 travelers. Come enjoy your home away from home with all household amenities. As well as free WiFi, a wood-burning fireplace, comfortable queen size beds, televisions, blue-ray players, a library of DVDs, and board games. Many travelers come to enjoy the outdoors. This area is known for their hiking, fishing and ATV trails. Many 14-ers and hiking trails are in close proximity of the cabin as well as Jefferson Lake, Terryall, Lost Wilderness Creek, the Arkansas River to enjoy some fishing. Ski resorts including Breckenridge, Keystone, and Arapahoe Basin, are an hour drive from the cabin. Embark on a scenic drive over Boreas Pass and Georgia Pass during your visit to Aspen Sunset.
This cabin resides 60 miles away from Breckenridge.
4 wheel drive is a MUST in the winter time, the driveway and neighborhood roads are plowed on a regular basis.

As you arrive at Aspen Sunset, you’ll be welcomed by gorgeous scenery surrounding Kenosha Pass and Michigan Hill. When you enter the cabin you will be stunned by the rustic cabin decor. The gorgeous logs surround the exterior walls of the cabin. All interior decorations were hand selected or made by the owner to provide the perfect cabin feel and appearance. Make yourself right at home in the fully equipped kitchen and fully furnished cabin. Gather around the kitchen and enjoy home-cooked meals with seating to accommodate 4 at the dining table and 4 at the large island.
Outside you can head to the back deck to warm up or walk down the path down to gather around the portable propane gas fire pit . As you gather around the fire pit, sit back and look up at the stars. You won’t regret it. The kids can enjoy exploring around the cabin and check out the tee-pee. Plenty of seating surrounds the deck and plan a meal on the BBQ. The cabin has a gas grill on the wrap around deck.
Each room as their own television and dvd player, so get cozy and explore our library of DVDs.

This amazing cabin is near some of Colorado's famous fourteeners! Just 33 miles away is Quandary Peak, whose summit sits at 14,265 feet. The hike is about 6 miles and provides stunning views of the surrounding mountain ranges. Make sure to head out early to beat the crowds and daily storm at the summit. Other 14’ers include Mt. Sherman, Mt. Lincoln, Mt. Bross, Mt. Democrat, and the Buffalo Peaks. Whether you are a climber or a casual hiker or just want to enjoy the scenery there are many nearby trails including the Colorado Trail which has a connection at the top of Kenosha Pass or near entrance to Jefferson Lake with great hiking from springtime to fall to view the breathtaking Colorado fall colors.
Pike National Forest offers many ATV trails that are within close driving proximity to the cabin.
Breckenridge, Keystone, and Arapahoe Basin ski resorts are all under 60 miles from the cabin avoiding I-70 traffic. Each mountain offers challenging runs, easy runs, and everything in between. The ski slopes offer snowmobiling, sleigh rides, ice skating, alpine tubing, great restaurants and much more.
If you don’t want to drive far step outside the cabin and go Snowshoeing or Cross Country Skiing.
In the summer, there is horseback riding down highway 9 at the Platte River Ranch. They have 2 hour rides, half day rides, and dinner rides. It is a great place for the family to go and ride through the forest and mountain meadows. They give you a true old West experience.
Enjoy a scenic drive through the Boreas Pass. The 22-mile mountain road winds through a historic railroad community and offers beautiful valley views. On the other side of the pass, you'll come upon Washington Gold and Silver Mine, a local history museum with tours of the area's largest mines!

About the host
Hosted by Natalie Odette-Baxley
My family has owned this property since the '70s and decided to build their dream cabin in 2003 and now I would like to share our dreams with you. We are Colorado residents, we have lived here since 1980. We love to vacation to our home away from home in the mountains, but we also like to take our vacations to the beach. Our children play competitive sports now, making it difficult to get up to the cabin as much as we would like, so we would like to share it with you.
Why they chose this property
Our cabin is located within the aspens in a private setting away from your neighbors and hustle and bustle. My family built this cabin with their own two hands, creating a beautiful place to get away. A lot of blood, sweat and tears went into the building own this cabin. The cabin is perfectly located with nearby activities or located for privacy, to just get away and relax. We will ensure to accomodate you as much as we can during your stay, so we are just a phone call away.
What makes this property unique
I have a local property owner that can be there within 20 minutes for emergencies. We are local to Colorado, but are about 1 hour 30 minutes away. You don't find many cabins in the area that are full log cabins, this makes us stand out amongst the rest.
