Map
Coast/Beach:
This area of North Cyprus boasts the best beaches in the entire island including Famagusta Bay just north of Famagusta famed for the ability to swim and see loggerhead turtles. A short drive from the villa and you can be on a quiet sandy beach, or if you take a slightly longer drive towards Bogaz there are also numerous free sandy beaches.
Travel:
The nearest airport is Ercan, but an alternative option is to use the airports in South Cyprus and cross into North Cyprus. Numerous operators in the North & South can arrange car hire. The service will include the vehicle being delivered to the airport and left at the airport on departure. As an alternative the taxi is moderately priced.

Further Details:
A full range of shops, restaurants, supermarkets and banks are available in Famagusta.
There has been a welcome addition of waterfront cafes/bars/eateries adjacent to a newly constructed walkway along the Famagusta Bay beachfront. There is childrens play equipment and exercise machines for adults along the route.
The local Salamis Ruins are a highly popular attraction easily accessible by car and there are a variety of local walks, which enable you to explore the many historical castles, with Kantara Castle in particular being in close proximity to the villa. The island has a rich tapestry of natural beauty including the wild flowers which are particularly colourful, as are the pine clad Besparmak mountains. The wild flowers and herbs are at their best in the winter and spring months.
The approximate temperatures in winter (November to March) can reach 22°C. Central heating is provided throughout the house for use as required. From March to May temperatures can reach 27°C and in the summer months (June to October) temperatures can reach an average high of around 35-40°C. The villa benefits from its coastal location and associated sea breeze.
Mains water is safe to drink, although bottled water is inexpensive.

Ask a questionAbout Colin Horsley
The villa is owned by Colin and Ann - We live in North Yorkshire, and are in our mid 50's. We have two children, Rebecca, who is currently an Overseas Recruitment Officer at University of York; and Dominic, who is a highly qualified cocktail bar tender in York. We are looking forward to the time when we can finish working and spend more time in our villa in North Cyprus.
Colin Horsley purchased this villa in 2004
Why Colin Horsley chose Yeni Bogazici
We went out to North Cyprus many years ago, and fell in love with it straight away. The people are so friendly, good food, great beaches near the villa and along the Karpas Peninsula that have to be seen to be believed and a great climate - it was a very memorable holiday. After returning from our first trip we promised ourselves two things, firstly that we would be back soon, and secondly if we ever had the money then we would buy a villa on the island. By good fortune we have done both!!
What makes this villa unique
Some people prefer the area around Kyrenia, which has been a much stronger area of tourism development in recent years. For ourselves, we prefer the Famagusta/Salamis area, as it is more peaceful, whilst still having plenty to do, as Famagusta is near enough for shopping, whilst Bogaz in the opposite direction is a beautiful small fishing village. Beaches are abundant and of a quality you struggle to find elsewhere.
