About this property

Beautiful,private heated pool,sleeps 5 Puy du Fou. Peaceful countryside setting.

The gite has 2 large bedrooms and can accommodate 5. It has a fully equipped kitchen/dining room, a bath and shower and comfortable lounge, with UK and French TV, WIFI. and DVD library. There are several areas for 'alfresco' eating, equipped with tables chairs and parasols,which are delightful places to sit and relax. The Gite garden, with a large shady terrace,also has comfortable armchairs and a bbq. The 'secret' secluded, pool garden, is a sunny delight! Equipped with tables,chairs, sun loungers and parasols, and a delightful' Day-bed'. The gite is close to two internationally renowned Theme Parks: The Puy du Fou, and Futuroscope.
Both gardens are surrounded by rolling countryside offering wonderful views, with many footpaths to explore. A stone picnic table and benches are but a 3 minute walk along the lane!
In the nearby village of St Pierre du Chemin, (3 minutes by car) there is a Childrens playground, general store with a post office, award winning boulangerie, bank with cashpoint, hairdressers, restaurant/bar and chemist, and beautiful lake near the old 'Lavoir'.. There are three large supermarkets and numerous other shops, about an 8 minute drive, in the nearby town of La Chataigneraie.

In July and August we only accept bookings for complete weeks from Saturday to Saturday.

Super Base

A great location to explore the Vendee and Southern Loire. Chris and Julie are very welcoming and their gite is lovely. The pool area, in particular, is well maintained and a relaxing place to unwind. Highly recommended.

Such a relaxing holiday

Chris and Julie are so welcoming and friendly. The gite was cosy and clean with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was really nice to have use of a bbq too. All the family loved being in the pool everyday, we didn't want to come home!

We have just returned home from a fantastic holiday in Chris & Julie’s Gite. Fabulous pool, Gite and accommodation. Cannot fault it at all. Chris & Julie always on hand for advice on restaurants and places to visit. Overall we had a fabulous relaxing 2 week holiday with maybe a little too much wine 😉

FRENCH HOLIDAY 2023

The property is well kept with a garden designed for the bees which is great! The property is furnished with everything you need. The swimming pool though is 100% critically brilliant. The garden is more designed with flowers and good amount of trees and hedgerows for privacy. The pool is kept immaculate by Chris and Julie. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Fantastic holiday! We travelled with our 2 boys aged 10 and 5. We had a great holiday and we were sad to leave!Chris and Julie are the loveliest, most accommodating people you could meet! We had a warm welcome and a lovely welcome basket of goodies which we were very grateful for!The gite was clean, tidy and cosy. Well equipped, TV and WiFi. The bed in particular needs a special mention- it was SO comfortable!The pool is spectacular! Set in a beautiful garden, with lovely plants and tall tree’s. It was very private with plenty of loungers and seats. My boys didn’t ever want to get out of it!We explored the local area and visited several towns and villages. Lots to do and see within reasonable driving distance. Chris and Julie accommodated our travel needs with our boys, and were available if we needed any help with anything. Really really lovely people and we will definitely consider staying at their gite again in the future.Thank you again to both for a lovely holiday! xxx

Un séjour inoubliable !

Ce petit coin de paradis est un véritable havre de paix qui nous permis de nous ressourcer. Très proche du Puy du Fou, nous avons pu y passer 2 jours fabuleux. Une grande piscine chauffée était entièrement à notre disposition dans un cadre bucolique à souhait. Chris et Julie sont adorables, aux petits soins et très attentionnés, tout en restant très discrets et disponibles. Je précise également que la location et la piscine sont d'une propreté irréprochable. Nous sommes véritablement enchantés de notre séjour. Merci Chris et Julie !

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans cette petite maison rustique, propre et fonctionnelle. Le point fort reste la grande piscine très bien entretenue. Sa situation est idéale pour visiter l'incontournable parc du Puy du Fou et éventuellement, le parc aquatique O gliss. La côte est à une heure de voiture. Nous avons apprécié la gentillesse et la disponibilité de Julie et Christopher qui occupent une maison mitoyenne. Leur discrétion est, aussi, un élément de satisfaction. Nous recommandons, sans réserves, cette location.

After COVID a welcome return to France

Absolutely brilliant week, we have stayed previously and after a hiatus of 3 years we got to return. The welcome couldn't of been warmer. The pool and the bungalow were 1st rate and clean. Everyday the pool was ready for action. Would thoroughly recommend and we even booked for next year whilst on holiday this year!

The perfect place

After covid we needed a good holiday and happily chose this property. As soon as we arrived we knew we had made the right choice. You have everything in the gite you will need for your holiday including a well equipped kitchen, comfy bed, and TV to keep you informed what's happening at home. Then you have the pool. area This is a perfect place to spend the day relaxing and keeping cool in the pool. The gite is well located to see many attractions, and Chris & Julie will be happy to point you in the right direction wherever you need to go. I cant recommend this property highly enough. Nous avons passé une superbe semaine! La maison était top, la piscine est chauffée à 28. Nous avons passé des journées entières dans l'eau, grâce aux différents niveaux de profondeur! Le jardin est très bien entretenu, le décor est apaisant. Les propriétaires sont très accueillants, très gentils et très discrets! Panier garni de bienvenue, maison tout confort pour 6 personnes. Très bon séjour au calme de La Brionniere et de sa piscine privée, sous la bienveillance de nos hôtes : Julie et Chris toujours disponibles pour nous satisfaire. Maison confortable et bien située à mi-chemin entre Le Futuroscope, le puy du fou et la côte Atlantique... Alors quand le soleil et également au rendez-vous, le séjour est parfait. Encore merci à Julie et Chris pour leur accueil chaleureux.

Chris and Julie Taylor, who now live next door to the gite, bought the property as a holiday home in 2002. We loved being here so much, that we couldn’t bear to leave it, and so, 2 years later, we made the decision to move here permanently. We are now happily installed into the French way of life, with our two sons and their now wives living afew minutes away! Being people who enjoy outdoor living, the sunny climate here is ideal!

Why they chose this property

Having spent many years holidaying in France, this was our chosen area. The beautiful rolling countryside, relaxed attitude to life, and welcoming people would have been enough in itself: but the excellent climate, coupled with its close proximity to the sea, made it perfect for our chosen lifestyle. Easy access to the many ferry ports and airports aided our choice.

What makes this property unique

Because of its location, you are able to have the best of both worlds. The Gite is in a small, quiet, hamlet, whilst having quick and easy access to all the amenities you could need. With footpaths leading straight from the gite, you can enjoy short or long country walks, finishing with a glass of wine, and a relaxing dip in your heated pool! Pool is available from June to September.
