'Casa Dario' is part of Fattoria Il Castellaccio, a family owned property extended on around 800 acres of oak and chestnut woods, fields and fruit-tree gardens. The farmhouse has been recently restored reviving its ancient beauty, particularly the floor, fireplace and hand-basin, all made of ancient local stone. Its hilltop location provides breathtaking views of both Arno and Tiber valleys while being in the middle of central Italy's natural and Renaissance treasures: Florence, Arezzo, Siena, Perugia; Urbino, Assisi are all within a day-trip. Foreste Casentinesi National Park, 40 mins away, is considered amongst the highest biodiversity sites in Europe. Ideal choice for families looking for healthy and safe surroundings as well as for walkers, thinkers and eaters. Anghiari area is one of the most traditional Tuscan gourmet destinations. Casa Dario enjoys an agreement with a nearby restaurant where good meals at special price are available for our guests. Guided tours for art and nature are available.

We had a beautiful vacation in the old hilltop farmhouse. The host took care of really everything and made it a real experience for us. The pool was always taken care of and the view as promised amazing. Thank you very much Lorenzo any time again!

Calm stay in Anghiari

Nice and pleasant stay in this very old Italian stone house. The pool is always clean and well kept, and even at hot days the house does not get hot Inside. The neighbourhood is quite and the rooms are dark, so there are good chances for some real quality sleeping. A good base for daytrips, as you are in the middle of Tuscany. Lorenzo and his family are very helpful and nice people. The interior of the house is exactly as described and pictured

The second holiday was again fantastic

We were allowed to be guests of Simonetta and Pier Francesco for the second time and were again able to spend three wonderful weeks there. Everything was again well prepared for our stay, everything was clean, everything was lovingly furnished, we felt right at home. If you are looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful landscape with your family (and the dogs) and would like to get to know Tuscan life, you have come to the right place. Arezzo is not far and offers everything a holidaymaker is looking for.

Absolutely amazing

Everything was perfect! The accommodation and the location of the house were just great. Our landlord was always helpful and accommodating. He responded immediately to any questions we had and dealt with them promptly. The pool was always well maintained and a real treat. The view and the landscape are outstanding. We really enjoyed the peace and seclusion. We also used our accommodation as a base for many excursions to Florence, Siena, Anghiari, Pienza and Perugia. We would love to come back!

Beautiful Villa with Mountain Vistas!

Our stay was absolutely calming and relaxing. The pool is heavenly, especially after a long days travel And great for sunbathing. We love that the villa was located in the countryside, Where it was quiet and peaceful and no hustle and bustle of urban traffic/people. However, We had fairly close access to several towns such as Arezzo, Florence, and Rome. We were very close to the old medieval town of Anghiari, where we had a delightful lunch At a local restaurant and visited Museums and old medieval churches. Our host Lorenzo and his family were Very helpful and made for a perfect stay at the villa. The villa is very safe and secure. It has a full kitchen and a washer and plenty of space to spread out. The night sky in the evening is absolutely beautiful.This is a must stay and visit destination place. We will definitely return next year!!!

A Tuscan Dream

This amazing apartment is on the second floor of a 500 year old farm house. The views are wonderful from every window . We arrived in a heat wave and spent our visit swimming and lounging by the pool which looks over the valley and Tuscan hills. The simple kitchen was well supplied with cook wear and dishes. And the bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable. Pier and his family were great hosts, responded quickly to all of our inquiries. The house is in a very rural location so it is quiet with the occasional car driving past on the gravel road and many bird songs. For travellers who need a little reprieve from intense tourism this is the perfect place! I look forward to returning again!

Dear Simonetta and Pier Francesco! We still remembering the two wonderful weeks that we spent in Casa Dario in July, therefore we would like to give some impressions to prospective guests. The house is imersed with nature, with a truly exceptional views (the view is to lose your breath), surrounded by the hills. This is the place of harmony and true beauty, surrounded by greenery and silence. The house is very romantic and full of memories of the past; you can rest in the beautiful room, very clean and fool of every comfort. It was like sleeping in the Middle Ages, every detail is kept with great care. View of the valley and the sunsets are breathtaking, nights are magic and full of stars and its mysteries. You can take long walks during the day near the forest and admire wild orchids. The place is excellent starting point for exploring the province of Arezzo, Perugia, Cortona?.and reach all the most beautiful and enchanting villages and return to refresh and rest for the evening. We'll never forget the wild ride over the hills and narrow paths, where Pier Francesco took us to show us the beautiful chestnut forests and old stone houses with all their history. During the journey he told us amazing stories about people and their life in the past ( we drove by the Roman road )?.it was like fairy tale. He is a great intellectual who is full of knowledge. Above all, the hospitality, the courtesy, friendliness and simplicity of the owners and their day life with the rhythm of nature have accompanied us in pleasant stay and magical atmosphere. Dear Simonetta and Pier Francesco, thank you so much for the wonderful two weeks we spent in your house, we were really catapulted into a corner of paradise and thank you for the excellent olive oil and wine! Reichtum der Toskanischen Hügeln

Sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt in gut eingerichteter, liebevoll renovierter "Turmwohnung" mitten im Grünen. Gastgeber zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Pool eher klein aber sauber, beim Schwimmen wunderbare Aussicht in die Hügellandschaft. Auch mit unserem Hund war es ideal. Rund ums Haus kein ganz freier Auslauf, aber lange schöne Spaziergänge in alle Richtungen. Zahlreiche Aktivitäts- und Besichtigungsmöglichkeiten in der ganzen Region.

Un excellent séjour

Nous avons passé 9 jours en août dans cette belle propriété, avec nos deux enfants : l'environnement est sublime, et la piscine avec une vue sur les montagnes est unique ! Elle a été très appréciée des enfants. La situation en hauteur assure une petite brise bienvenue, alors qu'il fait très chaud ailleurs. La maison, meublée sobrement, reste fraiche malgré la chaleur. Les matelas sont confortables. Il faut compter au moins 20 minutes pour accéder aux villages alentours. Nous avons été très bien accueillis par nos charmants hôtes et recommandons ce lieu pour des vacances au calme dans un environnement d'exception !

Ein Traum für alle Ruhe suchende, perfekt !!!

Wir hatten 10 sehr schöne Tage und super nette Gastgeber. Das uralte Bauernhaus wurde liebevoll hergerichtet und hat viele Details aus einer "anderen" Zeit. Ungestört kann man die Zeit am Pool verbringen und den Ausblick in die Toskana genießen. Auch die Geschichte der Gegend ist sehr interessant. Die Via Ariminensis, eine alte Militär Straße aus der Römerzeit, verläuft dort entlang. Viele tolle Ausflugsziele, wie z. B. nach San Marino, Rimini oder Ravenna, sind innerhalb von 2 Stunden erreichbar. Wir können diesen ruhigen Platz auf Erden sehr empfehlen, für alle die entschleunigt werden wollen und die Ruhe genießen möchten. Rust, stilte, sfeer en gastvrijheid - Tranquillità, silenzio, atmosfera e ospitalità

We verbleven met twee koppels in het mooie huis in Castellaccio en het verblijf oversteeg onze verwachtingen. We waren direct verliefd op het mooie oude huis dat een speciale sfeer uitstraalt. Je hebt er alle nodige comfort, je kan genieten van de mooie tuin en het heerlijke zwembad met een prachtig panoramisch uitzicht. Het is er echt heel stil, je hoort enkel de natuur. De omgeving is ook interessant: heel wat dorpen en stadjes in de buurt zijn de moeite waard! Ook leuke restaurantjes, zelfs heel dichtbij. Je krijgt alle nodige tips van de gastvrije eigenaars en hun sympathieke zoon Lorenzo. Deze plek is echt een aanrader!!

Un endroit superbe

Déjeuner en ayant une vue sur des dizaines de kilomètres tout en n'entendant que les oiseaux est un plaisir simple. Mais ô combien agréable. Rien que pour cela ce logement vaut largement la peine. C'est vrai qu'il y a des escaliers à monter et à descendre si on a oublié le sucre pour son café ou que la salle de séjour est un peu sombre à cause de l'architecte du XVIe siècle qui ne mettait pas autant de fenêtres que ceux d'aujourd'hui. Mais tout cela est compensé par la prévenance de Simonetta, Lorenzo et Pier Francesco qui résolvent les problèmes éventuels (une taque électrique qui rend l'âme, çà arrive..) aussi vite que possible. Merci à eux.

Une belle adresse entre Toscane et Ombrie!

Un très bon séjour dans cette jolie maison sur les hauteurs avec une vue splendide sur la vallée du Tibre. Les hôtes sont très accueillants, arrangeants et discrets. Les lits sont bons ce qui est agréable en vacances ! Une adresse à recommander si vous aimez le calme et la tranquillité (mais du coup prévoir un peu de route pour visiter les alentours).

Heerlijke plek met prachtig uitzicht

Mooi in stijl gerestaureerde vakantiewoning. Heerlijk koel op een heuvel gelegen, de woning is ruim en netjes, de keuken compleet en de bedden prima. Het uitzicht heel erg mooi, we hebben er op de verschillende momenten van de dag ontzettend van genoten. Vroeg in de ochtend trok de nevel uit het dal en wisselde het uitzicht per minuut. Daarna een duik in het superschone zwembad. De dorpen Anghiari en Arezzo zijn makkelijk te bereiken en zeer de moeite waard en er zijn mooie wandelingen te maken vanuit het huis. In de nacht rustig en pikdonker, heel wat vallende sterren gezien. Kortom we hebben genoten!

Toller Ort, und tolle Gastgeber

Wir hatten schon geahnt, dass wir das Haus ein wenig suchen müssen, haben es dann aber sehr schnell, dank einer guten Beschreibung unserer Vermieter gefunden. Ist es ein toller Ort, auf einer Anhöhe gelegen, gut durchlüftet auch an heißen Tagen. Die Besonderheit ist das gut sanierte alte Haus mit einem wunderbaren Pool samt umwerfenden Ausblick. Wir haben die Tage sehr genossen , da das Ferienhaus besonders günstig gelegen ist, kurze Wege nach Arezzo und anghiari, und auch ein guter Start nach Siena und San Marino waren möglich. Wir geben diesen kleinen Geheimtipp gern an unsere Freunde weiter. Die Vermieter machen tolle Marmelade, sehr zu empfehlen.

Magnifique séjour en pleine nature

Nous avons passés une semaine magnifique, immergés dans une nature préservée de la Scheggia avec une double vue sur la vallée de l'Arno et celle du Tibre. Nous avons pu bénéficier d'une température moins étouffante que dans la plaine. Idéalement situé "il Castellaccio", une maison chargée d'histoire mais très confortable, nous a permis de rayonner pour visiter la région de la Valteberina Toscane : Arrezo, Assise, Florence, Sienne ... un grand merci à nos hôtes Pier Francesco et Simonetta pour leur accueil très sympathique et leur français impeccable !

Entspannte Tage zwischen Arno und Tiber

Wir waren besonders begeistert von der Ruhe, der Natur und den weiten Blicken, die sich vom Haus und Garten bieten. Auch heiße Tage waren wegen des steten leichten oder stärkeren Windes gut auszuhalten. Für die Kinder war das bestens gepflegte Schwimmbad eine große Freude. Für Ausflüge in das nördliche Umbrien und die Toskana ist das Haus ein guter Ausgangspunkt, man muss nur wissen, dass in Richtung Sansepolcro (gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten ca. 15-20 Minuten) oder Arezzo jeweils eine "Passstrecke" zu fahren ist. Besonders reizvoll ist das näher gelegene Anghiari (Bäckerei, Metzgerei, kleine Lebensmittelläden, Restaurants). Die Vermieter, die im Nachbarhaus wohnen, sind sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und diskret. Das Olivenöl und die Konfitüren, die sie bzw. einer ihrer Söhne herstellen, sind sehr fein!

Ein Traum für Individualisten, Naturliebhaber und Ruhesuchende.

Wer die Einsamkeit und Ruhe sucht, dazu ein liebevoll gestaltetes, historisches Haus mit großem privaten Garten, oben auf dem Hügel mit einem fantastischen, weiten Blick über die Täler und Orte der Gegend, der wird sich sicher auch nicht daran stören, dass ein großer Pool Gelegenheit zur Erfrischung und zur Beschäftigung der Kinder bietet. Man kann derweil auf dem Stuhl im Garten Platz nehmen, einen Cafe trinken und den Blick in die Ferne schweifen lassen. Pier Francesco und seine gesamte Familie haben wirklich nichts dem Zufall überlassen, für die Gäste die schönsten Tage des Jahres unvergesslich zu machen, ohne dass irgendwas dabei aufdringlich oder unecht erscheint. Man merkt es überall: sie lieben ihre Gegend, ihre Häuser und sie lieben, was sie tun. Mit Freundlichkeit und klugem Blick stellen sich wunderbar auf ihre Gäste ein, niemals aufdringlich, aber immer offen. Man wird lange suchen müssen, etwas Vergleichbares zu finden - wir haben dergleichen jedenfalls noch nie erleben dürfen. Wir sind alle traurig nach Hause gefahren, aber wir haben eine wunderschöne Zeit in unseren Gedanken und auch unseren Herzen mitnehmen dürfen. Und dafür können wir nur sagen: Mille Grazie ! If you are looking for solitude and tranquility, plus a lovingly designed, historic house with a large private garden, up on the hill with a fantastic, wide view over the valleys and villages in the area, you will certainly not mind the fact that a large pool offers the opportunity to refresh and keep the children busy. In the meantime, you can take a seat on the chair in the garden, have a coffee and let your gaze wander into the distance. Pier Francesco and his entire family really left nothing to chance to make the most beautiful days of the year unforgettable for the guests, without being intrusive or fake. You can tell it everywhere: they love their area, their houses and they love what they do. With friendliness and a wise eye, they prepare themselves wonderfully for their guests, never intrusive, but always open. It will take a long time to find something comparable - at least we have never seen anything like it. We all went home sad, but we were able to take a wonderful time with us in our minds and also in our hearts. And for that we can only say: Mille Grazie!
