Traditional Loch Side Croft Cottage And Garden With Contemporary Extension
Please note we book Saturday to Saturday only. Your arrival and departure day must be a Saturday.
Dalilea Croft is situated on the north west side of Loch Shiel, in an area known as Moidart in the Western Highlands of Scotland. Fort William is 30 miles to the east and the cottage is approximately seven miles from Acharacle, which has a good general store, post office, tea room, bakery and pub. There are several good restaurants in the area. Boat hire on Loch Shiel is available and fishing can generally be arranged. The traditional single storey cottage is integrated with an architect designed extension with glass end-elevation, providing spectacular loch views and surrounded by its own established garden which is well fenced and bounded to the south by a small burn. The garden is completely secluded, no other house is visible, with Ben Resipol to the south and Loch Shiel, a short walk across a field, to the west. When the water in the fresh water loch is low, a sandy beach makes an ideal picnic spot.

We had a lovely (if wet) week at Dalilea. The croft was warm and cosy and the perfect place to relax. It had everything we needed and we would definitely return again
This is a lovely cottage which perfectly combines old and new, snug and light, comfort and practicality. We loved the choice of materials, fabrics and muted colours. Highlights of our stay were the white sandy beaches at Portruick and Sanna, the magical setting of Castle Tioram and the ancient Oakwood and riverside at Ariundle.
A great place to get away and have a peaceful week. The Croft had everything we needed, was clean, cosy and made a great base for exploring the area. Good walks and plenty of wildlife to be spotted.
Lovely house in great location for exploring Ardnamurchan .
Great garden with amazing northern lights seen from kitchen window !
Lots of space inside and good garden for dog to run around in..
Great cottage with a lovely mix of the traditional and the new, with good kitchen facilities providing everything you need for cooking. The sun room was a lovely space for relaxing in the evening, watching the changing weather and the peace and tranquility of the location. The showers in both bathrooms were good, powerful showers and the option for a bath in the main bathroom. WiFi worked well at both ends of the cottage and on the lovely sunny days the garden was a good space to enjoy. We also found the cottage a great location for exploring the local area, so many beautiful locations to visit and always with spectacular scenery around every corner!!
Excellent in every way. Wonderful wildlife, facilities, and very very peaceful. If you are looking for tranquility and tip top facilities this is the place to stay. This was our second visit and it won’t be the last!
We had a wonderful week at Dalilea Croft. Fabulous area, and so peaceful. Just listening to the silence and watching the wildlife was such a joy. Thank you for making our holiday so pleasant.
A great time in this lovely warm Highlands croft. Having 2 log burners and other heating meant that we could always be warm and cosy. Very comfortable and spacious.
Peaceful and quiet location for winding down and relaxing in a beautiful clean, cosy, comfortable cottage. We we're blessed with sunshine for the week to enjoy the stunning view's from the croft and plenty to do in the Moidart area, boat hire available at the farm just down the bottom of the road to enjoy a day on Loch Shiel this is a much loved and looked after property by the owner, we wouldn't hesitate to come back again, thanks for a wonderful holiday 😊❤️
If you want to get away from it all this is the perfect place. It's a very comfortable and well equipped cottage. The loch is a 5min walk away across a field. During our stay we saw eagles, deer and a pine Martin from the garden. One thing to note is that during our stay the WiFi didn't work at all but there was a 4g signal. note is that there was no wifi
Utterly peaceful stay in perfect surroundings. Abundance of wildlife, white sand beaches, mountain ranges and lochs very close by. The Croft has everything needed for a comfortable stay - the summer room being the icing on the cake.
Intermittent Wi-Fi not a problem for me… the blissful escape I expect from the western highlands!
Will definitely revisit.
