Casa Morais Porto-kids friendly

CASA MORAIS since 1939, located in Porto downtown, renovated in the summer of 2016, is a cozy house filled with natural light and character, always with small details that will catch your attention. Where the old meets the new, this house have a METRO and POLICE stations just 2 minutes from the door and is walking distance from major landmarks and other transportation.
Travel with passion and feel like a local by staying with us.


Dear guests before you book the house read this very careful:

the city council will carry out rehabilitation works on the street where the house is located. these works are expected to occur during the period from February to April / May, so delays may occur. I also inform you that due to the works there will be more noise than usual. street rehabilitation works occur from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 7 pm (excluding weekends and national holidays).


If arriving by car, please contact me to inform you about the alternatives where to park your car.

THE SPACE:

Morais House is a house built in 1939, first floor, no elevator, full of natural light, lovely and charming imbued with happy memories. The house still holds the original wood floor and the interior wooden shutters.

Less than 5 minutes walking from the metro (Faria Guimarães) and police stations.

This very comfortable house is located in a very quiet, safe and vibrant neighborhood where you will find several local businesses (pharmacy, grocerie, bakery, restaurants and others).
The house has 3 bedrooms with balcony, 1 toilet and 1 bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, living room with balcony and hall.
The view from the kitchen balcony is the neighbors gardens where it is possible to listen to the birds singing almost every day.

Renovated house (summer 2016) with:

• Fully equipped kitchen (stove, oven, fridge, microwave, filter coffee machine, magic kitchen wand, electric jug, electric toaster)

Absolutely perfect!

Our stay at Casa Morais was absolutely perfect! Joana, the lovely hostess goes above and beyond anyone's expectations! She loves what she does and she is really dedicated to making your stay memorable! We had a full dinner with typical Portuguese features ready for us when we arrived and she even made it a point to celebrate our 8 years old son's Birthday with goodies and balloons! The area of the house is a short walk away from Porto's downtown center. Very quiet and safe play to stay. The house is fully equipped with anything you might need, that's incredible. Casa Morais is a must go house if you plan on going to Porto! Thank you for everything Joana xoxo

Mooi, ruim en sfeervol appartement

Sfeervol appartement, zeer compleet ingericht en door eigenaresse voorzien van vele benodigdheden. Het appartement is dichtbij een metrohalte, waardoor goed bereikbaar vanaf het vliegveld. Het centrum is op loopafstand of met de metro eenvoudig te bereiken. Hartelijke ontvangst door eigenaresse die heel gastvrij en hulpvaardig is. Er stond een heerlijke en uitgebreide maaltijd voor ons klaar. Fijn verblijf gehad.

Wonderful home from home

What a lovely property with the wonderful Joana as host. From my first questions regarding our stay to our departure I have nothing but praise and thanks to Joana. Joana makes this truly a warm welcoming home away from home. So many thoughtful touches and a complete attention to what her guests will require. I was on my first holiday with my 8 month old granddaughter and her Mum and the three of us were overwhelmed with the warmth, love and thoughtfulness given to us. Joana greeted us on arrival with many surprises and a warmth that made us feel so welcome. She had surprised us with a meal, a delicious chocolate cake and local wine and port. For the little one there was an array of toys and baby items that meant we had nothing to think about but enjoy our holiday. I cannot recommend Joana and her lovely property highly enough. Our holiday was made very special and whenever we return to Porto it will be to Joana and her home. The location is perfect and so close to everything Porto has to offer. Again Joana helped us with recommendations for eating out, places to see and things to do, even organising our taxi to the airport. Thank you Joana, a very special lady.

Quiet, cozy, kid friendly apartment in Porto

Joana is an amazing host and made the stay very comfortable for us after a rough day of travelling up to Porto. She made sure we had everything we needed for our two 1 year olds that were travelling with us. She generously had a full spread of meats, cheeses, sangria, pasta dinner and snacks/desserts for us when we arrived. The apartment was just lovely and we would definitely stay again!

A warm welcome and beautiful apartment

Joana is a wonderfully kind and generous host. She clearly has a very fond attachment to her family apartment and wants you to enjoy it too. The apartment worked very well for our family (essentially 4 adults). The location was ideal: right near the metro station (10 mins downtown) and a very quiet neighbourhood. Porto is a noisy busy city, so we chose this place because it sounded quiet, and it very much is. There are good local food stores and a supermarket 5 mins walk away. The apartment is lovely: full of personality and well equipped. Thank you Joana for making it a special few days in Porto.

Passamos uma otima estadia na casa da Joana. Ela foi muito agradavel connosco ! Do acolhimento a saida foi uma experiencia maravilhosa ! Foi um grande prazer de conhece-là e de passar qualqueis dias na sua casa muito limpada e arrumada cuidadosamente. Durante a nossa chegada, a Joana deixou-nos o pequeno almoço com um delicioso bolo de chocolate e tambem, queijo, fiambre, café e chà e outras coisas que nao me lembrou. Na casa, havia todas as coisas que precisavamos. As nossas crianças foram felizes quando viram os jogos para eles. Eu nunca vi uma hospedeira tao linda e com tao gentileza. Com certeza, sé voltamos ao Porto, sera na Casa da Joana. Obrigado por tudo e muitas felicidades.

Charming, wonderful base to visit Porto

This is a lovely apartment and Joana is the PERFECT hostess! From the moment that you book you will be looked after by Joana. The location is good for walking into the centre and the apartment is beautifully decorated with charming features. There are modern facilities and interesting art books and information on Porto. Very well equipped and very well provided for in terms of everyday consumables. Would love to visit again!

Perfect host / Simplement parfait

This place is just as shown on the pictures : lovely, warm and very clean. Plus everything you could need is provided (even beach towels). It's not in a really touristic neighborhood but everything is at a walking distance. It is in a quite area. On top of that, Joana has been the best host I've ever met. She has several guides depending on what you want to do. I can't thank her enough and I will definitly recommand this place to my family and friends. L'appartement est tout à fait comme on le voit sur les photos accueillant et très propre. Tout ce dont vous aurez besoin est fourni (même des serviettes de plage). Il n'est pas dans un quartier touristique mais vous pouvez rejoindre facilement le centre à pied. Mais ce qui rend cet appartement vraiment unique, c'est la gentillesse de Joana que je ne pourrais pas remercier assez. Elle parle anglais et a été très disponible tout au long de notre séjour. Elle met à disposition des guides thématiques en fonction de ce que vous voulez voir à Porto. C'est un endroit que je vais définitivement recommander à tout mon entourage.
