HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RENTAL
Bear Lake is a great area to vacation. Our family really enjoyed our time there. Plenty to do yet easy to relax and take in the peaceful setting. The lake was almost to ourselves during the week. The house is clean and well kept. It met all of our needs. The owners were great. Great communication with them through the whole process of our stay. We intend to be back.

AMAZING AND RESTFUL FAMILY HOLIDAY
This cottage was the perfect get away spot for our family of 10. We loved being on the lakefront, the sunny days, the shallow water for the grand babies to splash in, the two kayaks and boat. The cottage itself was clean, welcoming and well supplied. The owners communicated in a timely manner. All we can say is we would return in heartbeat! Five star recommendation!

Thank you very much Catherine. You and your family are welcome back anytime!
Bear lake is a beautiful sandy bottom lake with lots of shallow water for the kids to float and play in. We brought our own pontoon and many times we had the lake to ourselves. With boating during the day and lake front campfires at night we only left once to golf Arcadia Bluffs (only 6 miles away). If you are not use to well water I would just bring plenty of water but we found everything we need at Saddle Up grocery store. Would recommend this house!!
Great place for small children! My 5 year old grandsons never got out of the water. Nice shallow lake right off the deck. Great Lake for kayaking and paddle boarding. Too. Close to Lake Michigan and enjoyed our day there. Overall, lovely cottage and look forward to Hopefully going again.
Great getaway location and accommodations. Plenty to do and location on the lake was fantastic. Plenty of room and amenities. Definitely recommend for a family getaway.

Accommodations were great. I was glad to see there was basic amenities such as TP, kleene x, dish so
And other items, Although I did bring my own. We had a fruit fly hatching the last couple days so had to get rid of most of our fruit which was OK. Over all it was a wonderful time!

Great week at Bear Lake!
As always we really enjoyed our time at the lake house at Bear Lake! The cottage is clean and spacious - plenty of room for our gang of 10. We enjoyed the kayaking, boating, and swimming, and even rented a jet ski for the day! And it's easy to visit Lake Michigan which is only 10 minutes away. Nathan is a very helpful host. We couldn't ask for anything more and will be back next year!

Great lake cottage
The cottage is in a quiet neighborhood on the lake, with shallow water perfect for kids to swim and kayak. From this location, we were able to easily drive to Manistee, Onekama, and Frankfort for dining and shopping.
The living spaces were just what we needed for a family vacation, and the deck was huge with lots of seating. The kitchen was small but functional, and we didn't do any major meal prep, there was good pizza at Grille 44 close by. We only used the bedrooms in the main cottage...my older kids liked the idea of staying in the separate bedroom, but once they saw it, they weren't too sure...but there was plenty of room for the 5 of us in the main house.
It was a great place to spend our week!

Great shady spot on the best side of a sandy lake
My family had a great vacation staying at the cabin. Love the new floors and the large bathroom in the main cabin. Living room space was big and great for playing family games. Deck was huge and great for entertaining guests. The lake is just a few feet from the deck and is great for swimming. We would definitely come back. Thank you.

Great place!
This was a wonderful cottage. The public spaces were terrific - lots of places to eat, play games, leave up puzzles, read, etc. There was lots of shade so the house stayed cool during day and it was easy to get to sleep at night. It's convenient to Bear Lake, Benzonia, Beulah, and Pierport. The deck was terrific and the cottage was on the water. It's shallow and sandy quite a ways out which is great for young children. Comes with two kayaks and an aluminum fishing boat so the kids were able to fish a couple of times which they loved. Definitely would stay here again.

Fantastic Place!
We recently returned from a fantastic week on Bear Lake! The location was great - on a quiet road with the lake right outside the front door. A large deck with lots of chairs for everyone to sit on, the dock was a popular spot for sitting with our feet in the warm water. The kids loved the shallow, warm water. It was perfect for my 2 year old nephew in that it didn't get deep quickly. My oldest daughter went for a nice kayak ride on one of the days when it wasn't too windy. There were floats for the kids/adults to use as well, which was great! The house has recently been updated, and we loved the new floors! Super clean, very easy to maintain.
We took a trip up to Sleeping Bear Dunes to see the sights, as well as over to Pierpont to visit "Old Faceful" to fill our water bottles and visit Lake Michigan. There was a nice farmer's market on M22 that had blueberries, raspberries, and sweet cherries as well as other veggies for sale. They also had locally made jams, michigan craft beer, and some fun sodas for sale (try the cherry root beer!). We went into Manistee several times to go to the beach (1st street beach is great! Several playgrounds and a snack bar) and out for dinner at the Blue Waters Cafe which had really tasty food! We also went to Benzonia a few times to visit the Hilltop Soda Shoppe (homemade ice cream) and to play putt-putt nearby. We swam in Crystal Lake in Beulah one day on our way home from a nice canoe trip on the Platte River. The kids loved that since the one thing they missed on Bear Lake was sand to dig in and build with!
The only recommendation we have is to possibly provide larger cooking pots - we had a large group and it was sometimes difficult to cook (especially potato salad) with one mid-sized pot. We brought our own large crock pot which was helpful!
Overall, we had a great time and will strongly consider returning next year! Thank you for opening your home for us to rent!

Fantastic place!
We recently returned home from our week-long stay on Bear Lake! The kids had a great time in the shallow, warm lake with a sandy bottom. One of my daughters had a great time kayaking one afternoon. The house was recently remodeled and very clean! Easy to maintain as well! We went up to Sleeping Bear Dunes one afternoon and saw all the sights. Also went for a short drive to Pierpont to see "Old Faceful" and fill our water containers and to play in Lake Michigan. There's a fantastic beach in Manistee with several playgrounds and a snack bar. Went into Benzonia several times for ice cream at Hilltop Soda Shoppe and played putt putt nearby. Also went to Crystal Lake in Beulah one day to play in the sand (the only thing my kids missed at Bear Lake was having sand to play in). Overall we had a great time, the location is great - not much traffic on the road, and the lake is right in front of the house without having to cross the street unlike other locations nearby. Nathan was very receptive and responsive to any questions we had. Will definitely consider staying again!
One recommendation is possibly to provide some larger cooking pots - we had a large group and found it difficult to cook some of the meals (potato salad, especially) due to not having larger cookware. Other than that, nothing to add!
