Perfect getaway

Lovely setting. Perfectly placed for trips to the beach or in to town. Well stocked with kitchenware, bedding and towels. Has everything you would possibly need for a relaxing break. Really enjoyed our stay and plan to return next year.

Wonderful West Cork

We were very pleased with our stay. The owners Chris and Kathleen Brown kept great contact with us before our visit, thanks. So many beautiful areas to discover within an hours drive. The house itself had everything and more you might need for a great holiday. The house was very clean.

Lovely Cottage

We had a lovely week in Skibbereen, the cottage has everything we needed, lots of cooking equipment, crockery etc. The kids loved the games in the playroom. It is close to the town but feels like you are in the countryside, very peaceful, the garden is lovely. There is a Lidl supermarket very close by. We enjoyed a visit to Clonakilty, Inchydoney beach and Baltimore for the dolphin watching trip. Would highly recommend!

Wonderful Easter holiday

We had a fantastic Easter holiday at Chris and Kathleen’s beautiful home. The house is so comfortable and had everything there that we could possibly need. Our kids loved the playroom and had so much fun playing with the toys there and the garden is gorgeous with balls and badminton etc in the garage that we we played out there. The location is perfect so close to Skibereen town only a couple of mins drive or it’s possible to walk. It’s close Baltimore and the beaches at tragumna and Tralispean which we loved and the stunning Lough hyne is only 10 mins away too. Chris and Kathleen are great hosts with great communication. We cannot wait to return. There is so much to see and do in the area we hadn’t time to do it all.

A lovely family stay

We stayed at Edens edge whilst we competed in the West Cork Rally. The Bungalow was perfect for our needs as 2 families with 2 small toddlers and 1 child. The best part of the stay was how equipped the house was. All the linen, towels etc you could need. Wash things, all the kitchen items plenty of pots and pans etc. The washer drier was a god send with young children and horrible wet weather. Lovely bathroom with large shower. Heating kept the place lovely and warm and water was always hot. The snug/playroom was fantastic with all the games and toys you could need. As well as this there was a plate and bowl for a toddler and cutlery. You can tell that a child had been around and therefore made the trip more relaxed with our children, we could let them play happily. The garden is a lovely size - just watch the water at the end with children. Gates so there was no chance of them running into the road albeit it a quiet road. Lots of parking we managed to get our car, van and trailer in. One of the most memorable bits was the care Chris put in to ensure that although we booked late and didn’t receive the paperwork for the house he personally called and explained all we needed to know to depth. We took a trip to our favourite soft play ‘the treehouse’ which is a 10 minute drive whilst the men were busy with the car and the town with plenty of shops, garages etc was down the road. Overall the perfect stay and hope to book again for the rally next year! Many Thanks

Edens Edge experience

We really enjoyed our stay. Apart from some relatively minor matters which we might have contacted the manager about for help but didn't things were fine. A nice place in itself and well located for sightseeing.

Great accommodation in a really lovely part of Cork

Very comfortable, well equipped home. Beaches very safe with plenty of choices of activities. We lo Ed cycling... Be prepared for short steep hills that will challenge. Gravel tyres would be better for some of the marked cycle routes.

Two week stay

This house has everything! You can walk in with a bag of clothes and you're set for a stay. Found it excellent for the kids who set themselves up in their own 'playroom'. We loved having the open fire and the garden was amazing. Great location about 15 min lovely walk to the nearest big supermarket. A great base for a family to explore West cork.

Lovely comfortable house with everything you could possibly need

Clearly the owner stays in the property from time to time because it was very well resourced with every possible appliance etc. The gardens were beautiful with lots of flowering shrubs and was really well maintained. The toyroom in particular was a joy to behold - a childs dream with lots of books and games

A taste of the real Ireland

The property is on a very quiet road with fields all around. It has a well equipped kitchen, a kitchen diner and a separate lounge. It is an easy walk to Skibbereen for those who prefer to walk home after dining out. The Covid restrictions were still in force when we visited so not all eating places were open but there are several supermarkets with a wide choice of food. The gardens front and rear catch the sun - front in the morning and rear in the evening. We found it an ideal base for walking as the tourist office has leaflets giving details of Trailheads within a very short drive. Walks are mainly on very quiet roads both along the coast and through the countryside. The local people were really friendly with genuine charm. Skibberen has escaped the coach tour circuit and is a part of rural Ireland to be enjoyed.

Great stay at Eden’s Edge

Wonderful stay in Eden’s Edge, cosy welcoming house, great location 5 mins from Tralispean beach which our boys loved! Great base to explore west cork and all it has to offer. Hope to return in the future.

Sehr schöne Lage. Es ist alles da was man braucht. Die Küche und deren Geräte dürfte mal einer gründlichen Reinigung unterzogen werden. Pfannen zum Teil unbrauchbar.

Would definitely go back!

This cottage is situated in a naturally beautiful spot - fields to front and back - it is so peaceful - we relaxed so quickly into the holiday. It's about an easy ten to fifteen minute walk into Skibbereen - so the best of both worlds! So much to see, explore and do within easy reach of the property - Baltimore was a favourite - especially a trip out with Baltimore Sea Safari - kids were delighted to see the Dolphins swimming alongside the boat! or a great views after walking up to the Baltimore Beacon. Lough Hyne, another beautiful spot; learning about the famine and local history at the Heritage centre in Skibbereen - so many beautiful un spoilt beaches close-by. The cottage was well equipped - had everything we needed - plenty of space and comfortable for the 6 of us.

Chris and Kathy built this property and have regularly updated both the interior and exterior. They chose this location because of the beautiful scenery and close proximity to many attractions.

What makes this property unique

Apart from spending time with family, Chris and Kathy enjoy long walks along the coastline. They are also fans of the local lively nightlife - they love traditional Irish music and can often be seeing dancing well in to the early hours!

Chris spends many a day on his little fishing boat, pulling up lines of mackerel, a pollock or two, or a nice flattie for supper.
