We loved how quiet it was during the week. The lake is wonderful and clear. We went swimming when we had warm days. Cabin is cozy and comfortable. Very nice deck with furniture and fire ring. I hope we can come again in the future.

Loved that it was right near the water. Good view.
Had to wash any dishes that we used first, was not very clean, but once we took care of that, it was better. Cabin on water had nice view. Pontoon was absolutely wonderful. Made it all worth while.

I am sorry if you had to wash dish's and clean, that should not have happened. We don't provide housekeeping and count on the renters to leave the cabin as they have found it. This is how we are able to keep the rent lower and provide things like a free pontoon for our renters. We only rent the cabin out no more than 4 times a season and It had been several weeks that the cabin had been used when you arrived. Thank you for the feedback!
I am glad you did have a great time!
If you like wildlife, you'll love this cabin. The mice are domesticated, and the spiders are plentiful. One window is partially boarded up, keeps the bears outside, I guess. But otherwise, it was just OK.

I am not sure if you have reviewed the right cabin. We don't have mice and we don't have any boarded up windows. Spiders are plentiful in the woods this time of year.
Great views of the lake, the moon and the sunrises. Quiet neighbors. Campfires and grilling very handy and enjoyable. Fun on the water with the canoe (in great condition). Fishing was good for panfish from the dock or canoe. Cabin was everything we hoped for/expected. Host was very friendly and available.
The reason we rented this cabin was to spend the week on the pontoon. We arrived Monday to a pontoon with no gas, were able to use it a little Monday night and Tuesday up until the patch fell off when we were out fishing and nearly did not make it back to the cabin to dock it. I sent you a message on Tuesday and you did not respond until Wednesday. On Wednesday, we spent our morning trying to drain water from the pontoon and going to marinas to see if we could get someone to come out and patch the pontoon, we even thought and inquired about renting trailers to take it up to get it fixed... spent $278.34 to rent a boat to use on Wednesday, you did not have anyone come out until Friday night to fix the pontoon so we were unable to use it until Saturday and our stay ended on Monday, we left at 6 am as we have work to get back to. On Thursday, we went to Walmart in Bemidji to buy 25 ft of tubing and JB weld to attempt to fix ourselves, we (Kyle, myself and our two children and it still was difficult) were able to lift boat high enough out of water to get some water drained.I spoke to you Monday night, you let me know you guys were on vacation in Alaska and asked the condition of the cabin to which I responded um okay I guess. We did take our trash even though your claim is we did not, (we bought the red bags from cnex 1 stop shop in Longville for $6.20 a bag and recycled all of our cans, plastics and glass while we were in town.) When we arrived, there were dirty sheets on two of the beds, which are in the black trash bag left in the room with bunks, not my laundry to take care of, but I did remove them and put them there. There is also a blue woman's shirt under mattress, it was not mine, I seen it while putting on my own clean sheets and left it because I shouldn't have to pick up other people's clothing and used sheets. Evidence of mice nesting in towels or something in dresser. There was mouse poop in all dishes and cupboards, used bar soap, I threw away two bars from inside the shower and removed the shampoo and conditioner and placed on water heater as we want to use our own shower stuff not that belonging to someone else. In the medicine cabinet, there is a bar of soap on toilet paper with pubic hairs on it, I left.GROSS. I bought gloves and scrubbed YOUR sink, shower, and toilet as well as shower mats. I washed mirrors in the bunk room and bathroom. I vacuumed, shook rugs, swept floors. Fridge had food in it. Cardboard trash still out by fire
We loved it! It was what we expected, a rustic little cabin with a deck and stairs going down to a beautiful clear water lake! The old growth pines are beautiful and late one night, huge Bard owls landed on their branches 15 ft from us and were talking to each other. We got pics and video, an amazing experience as they hung out for a long time. A couple things. The previous renters left a big box of bags and cardboard by the fire pit. Looked like they were burning their trash and left a mess by the fire pit. We didn't use the fire pit, for that reason. we just didn't touch that mess. I meant to inform the owner right away, but forgot. Also...google maps shows the cabin at the end of the road, but it's not. We eventually found it. Not a big deal. We really liked our stay there! ...and would stay there again. Ramona was a helpful, good host.
The cabin was small but very nicely decorated and cozy and had everything we needed. The beds were very comfy.
We loved having the use of the pontoon and went out in it every day. Caught bass, northerns, sunnies and perch. Caught a lot of fish right off the dock. Loved sitting on the deck and watching the beautiful sunsets! The hosts were up at their other cabin when we arrived, and were very accommodating and helpful. We would highly recommend this place if you want a peaceful fun vacation and the pontoon was an added bonus!!
Cozy cottage with basic amenities made for a comfortable stay. Private pier and spacious deck with unobstructed lake views provide a relaxing environment for a great getaway. Good fishing and recreating opps on Blackwater Lake.
Perfect getaway for our family of 4... we enjoyed it alot !!
Nvr used pontoon but the personal dock was amazing to have. Huge yard with lots of shade for yard games. Enjoyed the deck with patio furniture and fire pit.. water so clear in lake you can stand on deck to see the fish.
Cabin small but we knew that when we rented it.
We really enjoyed our week here. Had good luck fishing, our boys enjoyed swimming off the dock, and the cabin was basic and cozy but had everything we needed. Glad that there was a sandy bottom to swim by the dock! Enjoyed the fire pit, made good use of the grill, and loved the clarity of the water in the lake.
We only took the pontoon out once - the motor started ok at the dock but we had issues getting it to start again after fishing for a bit a short distance away and didn’t want to get stuck again. Glad we had our own boat too. We used the paddle board and canoe too and enjoyed them. Would feel a little better if there were smoke/fire detectors installed. Otherwise, we loved our vacation!
We had a blast! Had fun fishing, had a few problems with the boat, but had fun! Some of the trees getting back to cabin were really close, but not a real big deal! Over all I would stay again and recommend it!
