This property exceeded my expectations. It was comfortable, convenient, interesting (love old houses), and the view from the third floor bedroom was unbelievable. We found more than enough to see and do in and around Grassington; everyone was friendly, especially the members of the Congregational Church.
Plenty of space for the six of us. Garden and outside space are stunning, especially if the weather is good (it was for us!). Had everything we needed, highly recommend.
We were very impressed with the house and greatly enjoyed our stay. Perfect distance to local amenities, very well decorated/fitted inside and out. Charming!
The house was a perfect place for us to meet up with our adult children, with plenty of space and nice sleeping accommodation. The garden was a real suntrap, in fact almost too hot in the amazing weather we just had. We were thrilled to find that not only is Grassington a charming village but also it has a river with lots of fun swimming opportunities. There were lots of lovely walks rightfrom the doorstep.
The cottage was very comfortable for a large group.
It was fabulous to be so close to the centre of Grassington with its excellent range of cafes, restaurants and shops; and yet have open views and a secluded garden.

Characterful house in a great location
The house has been very sympathetically updated and has every comfort while retaining its original charm. It is extremely well equipped and only a minute's walk from the main Street in Grassington. The garden and patio area is really nicely landscaped though we weren't lucky with the weather so didn't get to use it much. My only note of caution would be that access is down a narrow lane and manoeuvring into the parking spaces can be tricky.

Ellesmere Cottage is a beautiful house in a great location in the pretty village of Grassington.
Everything we needed in the house for a superb break with a group of friends over New Year.
We will definitely be rebooking.

Beautiful House and Location
The cottage was ideal for our family weekend of six adults and two young children.
The arrangement of bedrooms and bathrooms was very good as was the kitchen and dining area.
The enclosed garden and outdoor seating area was well used as we enjoyed the sunny weather.
We loved the location as it was so close to the village, yet quiet.
There are lots of things to do in the area. We visited Stump Cross Cavern's, and Bolton Abbey.
One note of caution. If you are over six feet tall watch your head as you go through the doorway from the kitchen to the sittingroom. It took several bumps for my husband to remember to duck.

Loved this place!
Booked as a surprise birthday gift for our mum and she loved turning up to find the entire family hiding in the front room!
Lovely house with plenty of room for us 8 adults and the 2 kids.
Good size garden for the dog and parking was no issue for 4 cars, even though it was the 1940s festival weekend.
Highly recommend a visit to Grassington and a stay here. We are now trying to find dates we can all go again!
Paul (owner) has been contactable and helpful throughout the booking and afterwards.
Loved it! Thank you!

a lovely find!
The house and garden were great - ideal for a big family get together with plenty of space. Great location in the middle of grassington and easy to get everywhere. We even had lots of sunshine! Heed the advice and take your slippers... Those stone floors are cold! Our only criticism was that the previous visitors must have had a dog that they didn't clean up after. We spent the first couple of days clearing all the dog poo off the lawn before we could let the kids play on it. Please clean up after your dogs!

We are the proud owners of the 2 best cottages within the village; Ellesmere is a 17th century cottage and Brown Fold is an executive standard cottage; We ensure both properties are maintained to a high level as we and our family spend a lot of time there in between rentals- if more info is required please contact 07540 594842
Why they chose this property
We love this house because it is set in the heart and hub of the Yorkshire Dales; Grassington is a vibrant village with all the amenities in the village; yet literally on the front door is access to the great outdoors; with great walks and mountain bike routes to explore if more info is required please contact 07540 594842
What makes this property unique
The location has to be the best thing about this cottage. Literally 30 seconds from the high street yet tucked away in a 'hidden' street creates a private location enhanced by the walled garden.
