About the host
Hosted by Tonda Yandell
Born in Union City, Indiana to Ed and Mariellen McCarter. When I was 6 years old family moved from the north to the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast. We moved to a home on three acres of land in Long Beach where my parents remained until retirement. Upon retirement they chose to travel the county and it was at that time my late husband, Norman Yandell and I purchased the family home. After several years of traveling Ed and Mariellen made the decision to return to a permanent location and built their perfect retirement home on the family property. Their retirement home that brought them so much joy is now McCarter Lane Guest House. Ed and Mariellen passed away in 1992. After a lot of soul searching and because they both loved vacationing , seeing new sights and meeting interesting people, we decided to honor them by making their special home a inviting vacation destination . In 1994 McCarter Lane Guest House welcomed our first guests. It has been an absolute pleasure to welcome hundreds of guests from all over the world. And It is especially rewarding to see the same guests return year after year. With great joy, I take pride in making our guests feel as if they are entering the perfect home away from home, making a point to keep them informed and updated about all local opportunities and always on hand for any services I can provide.
