Spacious Modern Villa With Private Pool, Terraces, Garden And Panoramic Sea View
Enjoy a fabulous Mediterranean holiday with family or friends in our light, spacious villa just minutes from the centre of the historic seaside town of Collioure. Sip a glass of chilled local wine on one of the house's two spectacular terraces, overlooking the sea or the hills, or enjoy a cool swim in the pool, surrounded by bougainvillea in the secluded, enclosed garden. Our villa is in a peaceful location, but just a 6 minute walk from Collioure's stunning beaches, restaurants and galleries.
The three double bedrooms have en suite bathrooms and the two twins, both of which have French doors leading onto the garden, share a large bathroom. All the bedrooms have air conditioning and heating. Bathrooms are all decorated in clean, modern style and contain contemporary fittings. The light, airy main reception room is furnished with two comfortable sofas and Eames armchairs. The room leads on to an enormous terrace with panoramic views of the sea and the Chateau Royal. A large modular sofa and a dining table that seats up to 10 people mean this terrace is a main focal point of summer days. As keen cooks we have ensured that the modern kitchen is equipped to a high standard - we love creating delicious meals with the abundant local ingredients. The downstairs sitting room runs the length of the house and features a huge modular sofa, a Smart TV and a full-size table football table. It's a great chill zone for kids and teenagers. The garden is Mediterranean-style, filled with the vivid colours of bougainvillea and plumbago. The aqua-coloured pool (11 metres) has an electronic safety cover. The garden also contains a table tennis table and enough space for a fun game of petanque. Both a wood-fired and gas barbecue/ plancha mean there are plenty of options for outdoor cooking. A second terrace to the rear of the house, with table and corner sofa, means that on windy days guests can enjoy a meal or a game of cards whilst taking in the views of the vineyards and the Fort St Elme.
The property is located in a quiet residential area, and guests are provided with a key to a special shortcut which takes you to the gorgeous beaches and restaurants on the historic town centre in just 6 minutes by foot. We will give you a great list of our favourite restaurants, markets, galleries and walks so that you can get away from the tourists and enjoy living "like a local".
Collioure is a beautiful fishing village at the foot of the Alberes mountains and just a few miles from the Spanish border. Its medieval church tower, fort and narrow, bougainvillea-clad streets, as well as the pinky hue of the sky and sea, made it a haunt for artists such as Matisse and Derain. The Templiers bar, with its walls covered in oil paintings, remains just as it was in their day, and evenings can be spent there or at one of the beach bars, drinking Banyuls and then going on to one of the wonderful Catalan restaurants in the town. There are no fewer than 6, very safe, beaches in the town with fabulous protected swimming areas and then a short drive away there are more beaches with plenty of water sports on offer. Excellent walking routes and bike rides are just minutes away in the Alberes.
It's also easy to visit the lovely market town of Ceret (a favourite of Picasso), the fishing port of Port Vendres, the long white sands of Argeles, or go across the border to Cadaques, Figueres, Girona and the Costa Brava.
In all, there is a lot of fun to be had, whatever season you visit

Very comfortable house, we immediately felt at home. It had everything we needed plus a wonderful view from the terrace which became our favourite spot. Plenty of seating inside and out, It was very peaceful and relaxing. Nice garden and pool too. Great location with an easy walk into the village which is a gem of a place. Good communication with owner and concierge. Would love to come back.
Fabulous, modern, spacious and comfortable villa. Ideal for a family holiday for all ages with plenty of spaces for everyone to chill. Very well equipped kitchen. Beautiful location .. 10 minute walk to centre. Would highly recommend and look forward to returning!!!
Perfect location and fab pool, beautiful views and comfy living area. Need air con in main living area of house to be comfortable during heat waves. Some area of house could do with upkeep/refurb.

Hi Zoe, thanks for being such great guests! For the time being we don't intend to put aircon in the main living area as it is fully open-plan, has double sliding doors to the terrace and is high up so normally there's a fantastic breeze running through (this is a very breezy part of France!). We do now have a large Dyson fan in the kitchen for super-hot days, which works well and is much better for the planet. All the bedrooms have aircon and all refurb suggestions have been addressed. Hope to welcome you again soon!
A wonderful stay at this lovely house in Collioure. Perfectly located for the town and beaches. Enjoyed many restaurants around the town and it’s nightlife.
The pool at the property was a family favourite.
And we all really enjoyed the views from the balcony.
We all agreed that we’d come back!
Thank you Dominic and Katrine
The large villa overlooking Collioure to the sea is a truly great place to relax. Large rooms, well furnished and finished throughout. Multiple exterior zones including a large 1st floor decking with amazing views. Inground pool, bbq grill options and ample seating for dinner or relaxation. We enjoyed as a couple but it can accommodate 2 families comfortably. Highly recommend, would love to return.

The House and especially the outside area is mainly great. Its great seating areas outside and many places to be (If you are many people travelling together). The kitchen is well-equipped and its easy to make good meals.
The House could have been better cleaned, and some rooms/areas could use a Little make over (bathroom 2.nd floor (The one closest to The main door) and also The bathroom and bedrooms in The basement.

Thank you Hanne. The bathrooms you mentioned will both be redecorated this winter when we will have a few weeks to address the end of season issues you have pointed out.

This house provided a beautiful and comfortable and ideal setting for me and my family members to gather. The host was responsive and accomodating and everything we needed was provided. The access to town, the beach, hiking trails and wineries was unbeatable. Unexpected extras were delightful - games, books, etc. I would return to this house without question. Every family member that visited agrees wholeheartedly that it provided a perfect place to lounge and cook and recreate and enjoy each other and the stunning views of Collioure.
The house is beautifully decorated and very well equipped; from the kitchen, to a lovely pool with plenty of loungers, outdoor areas to bbq, sit and eat and admire fabulous views of the sea and mountains. We had rain one day and amused ourselves with the table football, games, books, tv etc. An excellent house for our family holiday for adults!
Catherine, who looks after the house, was very friendly and helpful.

Thank you very much Rene, and we are delighted you enjoyed your stay. Unfortunately, the local Tramontane wind means that we cannot have a motorised awning on the terrace. We do, however, have a large umbrella for calm days and there is also an alternative terrace at the rear of the building, looking out on the Fort St Elme, which is a lovely sheltered spot on windy days. Next to the pool is a gravelled garden area rather than a terrace - great for kids but without the panoramic views of the terraces. We have noted your comments about the curtain and top bathroom and will ensure this is clearer on the house specs.
We hope you enjoy the rest of your summer and we would be very happy to welcome you back to our Collioure home!
Villa impeccable, vue magnifique
Collioure has always been a great place but finding somewhere great to stay hasn’t always been as easy. This house was fabulous - well-equipped, air con, outside area with pool, location
The villa was excellent and very well equipped. Short walk to the beach and town. Perfect evenings relaxing on the terrace with food and wine when the children were asleep. Catherine (the concierge) was very helpful, welcoming us and ensuring that all was well during our stay. Hoping to return!

- Vaisselle sale +++ :

I,m sorry our clothes washing facilties weren't up to scratch ! I hope you didn't have too many as you only stayed 1 week.
We leave some ash on our wood and charcoal BBQ as it burns more easily. The gas BBQ is cleaned before every new guest arrives, but we expect guests to clean the BBQ after they have used it . Dominic
Perfect location as you don't need a car to go to village or beach and view is amazing
Check in / out was as smooth as possible and during our stay the house keepers have made sure we were feeling at home and we did.

About the host
Hosted by Dominic EW Hubble
I first came to Collioure when I was a student in France some 30 years ago, and fell in love with the red roofs, pink sunsets and Catalan atmosphere. So of course, when my husband I were looking for a holiday home it was the obvious place to look. We love the fact that Collioure has superb weather, lots of great places to eat and shop, and access to both water sports and snorkeling. Our teenage daughters enjoy coming here because they can be completely independent, soaking up the sun on the beaches during the day and the handful of friendly bars at night! The weather is nearly always sunny and the area doesn't seem to attract the high-spending flashy tourists that head to the Cote D'Azur. It's relaxed and informal, and we love it!
Why they chose this property
Easy to get to from the UK and rest of Europe, not full of English people, lovely to visit at any time of year. We love the house because it has an ideal location and is beautifully decorated. In fact, there is nothing by Ikea in the entire property! The garden is sheltered and the pool always a perfect temperature throughout the summer. The terrace at the front of the property is the perfect place to drink a sundowner whilst enjoying the views over the town and the sea, or to spend an afternoon reading and snoozing on the huge sofa. Collioure is the ideal holiday location - safe, sheltered beaches, authentic shops and restaurants and a wonderful atmosphere whether you're there in July or January. There's also plenty to do - swimming either in sheltered coves or at long sandy beaches, walks into the vineyards and hills straight from the house, and visits further afield to lovely towns in bth France and Spain, or to castles, monasteries and art galleries. Everyone who has visited has fallen in love with the town, the area and the house, just as we did.
What makes this property unique
Quiet, residential area with quick and easy access to the town and beaches. Great views both front and back - two terraces and a garden so a choice of seating areas.. Very few houses in the area have so much space, whilst still offering lovely views and a tranquil setting. Decor is modern, with clean lines and high quality furnishings. All beds and bed linen are from John Lewis and White Company and the living room sofas are hand-made. There is an extensive range of kitchen equipment as we love cooking so you have all you need to concoct a gourmet feast. There is plenty in the house for the kids to do, from swimming in the 11 metre pool to playing table tennis, table football, boules and board games. There is also a brand new Smart TV. You could never be bored!
