Beautiful period 1930's villa, at Meschers, near Royan. Spend your family holiday at the seaside. The Atlantic coast's sandy beaches are only five minutes stroll away, as is the town centre for all your self-catering needs.

At Meschers you can buy fresh croissants for your breakfast or walk to restaurants, bars (over 20 within 20 minutes walk) shops, supermarket, fresh produce market and pleasure/working port.

Our house is ideal for all the family, large and small - even teenage guests have been impressed! Brightly decorated with some '30's period furniture, but with the family in mind.

Free Wifi. Kid's TV/play room, French TV channels, games. Second lounge/dining room, 2 bathrooms and toilets. Equipped kitchen and breakfast room. Large table under covered patio for BBQ and al fresco eating, relax whilst the children play in the large safe garden, with mature fruit trees. Off street parking in the garden is possible, otherwise free street parking outside the house.

Five bedrooms
Bedroom 1 - double 140 cm bed, with small balcony and sink.
Bedroom 2 - double 140 cm bed, with large balcony overlooking the garden.
Bedroom 3 - family bedroom with a double 140 cm bed and a set of bunk beds.
Bedroom 4 - single.
Bedroom 5 - single.
Please note that the two single rooms are at each end of the family room, you need to walk through the family room to get to the single bedrooms - each has their own door.
Bedroom 6 - it's possible to use the tv room double sofa bed as a 6th sleeping area.
Cots and highchairs can be provided, free of charge, on request.

There is a bathroom upstairs, with it's own boiler - running 24/7 - but the 2 toilets are downstairs. No toilet upstairs.
2nd bathroom as a toilet and there's a 2nd separate toilet. 200 litre boiler that runs 24/7.

Kitchen - dishwasher (tablets provided), gas cooker and oven, microwave, Tassimo coffee maker, electric coffee maker, vegetable steamer, fridge + small freezer. Full equipped for self catering for up to 12 people.
Washing machine is in the basement.
Large bbq outside. Large covered seating area, secure garden with trees, chairs, loungers etc.
Tea towels, bathmats, cleaning products, duvets, pillows provided.
Sheets and towels can be rented. 5 euros per person. Set of 3 towels - hand, bath and beach - 8 euros per set. To be ordered before and paid for in cash on your arrival.
Cleaning is included in the rental charge.

See below for some ideas as there is lots to do and see in the area and further afield. That's if you wish to do anything more that relax in the garden with a chilled glass of Pineau, and a shrimp (or mussel) on the BBQ! There is a good tourist office in the town centre.

Buses run from Meschers to some places - Royan, St Georges de Didonne.

Lots to visit in Meschers - all at walking distance from the house - sandy plage des Nonnes, pretty town centre with shops and daily market in the summer - 3/4 times a week at other times, tourist office, the famous grottes de Regulus and Matata. Fishing/pleasure port with restaurants and view over the esturary.
In the summer months there's a full programme of events at Meschers, copy available online or at the house.

There are lots of walks in the pine forest, Talmont sur Gironde, one of the most beautiful villages in France, 5 km. Other beaches. Golf, crazy golf, ariel tree park, 1950's Royan, the cote Sauvage, the zoo at La Palmyre.

Further afield - Saintes, Rochefort, La Rochelle, Bordeaux, Futuroscope - the list is endless.
