Converted 200 year old barn, in the mountain village of Pasalites, near Perama and 7km south of Panormo and the beaches, makes a romantic and quiet base for couples, walkers, cyclists or couples wanting to be away from the crowds. Villa Alexander is a studio style one bed villa with enclosed garden and real well. It is in easy reach of Heraklion, Rethymnon and several ancient and historical sites, including Eleftherma, Melidoni, Arkadia and Rethymnon. It has single studio style accommodation, with kitchenette, seating area with TV etc, raised bedroom area and separate bathroom. The stone walls and timber ceilings make this a very warm and relaxing location. The private courtyard garden gives privacy for eating and relaxing. A child cot can be provided on request. Not suitable for wheelchairs, but can be used by restricted mobility. It is incredibly peaceful and relaxing!

Nice and cosy place near the coast

I spent a whole week with my girlfriend in this nice house. It is located near the coast and is easily accesable with a car. It was the perfect starting point for several trips all arround crete. Nearby is a small super market that provided us with the essential foods. I would recommend this place to friends. Espacially the very fast and friendly responses from Martin and Sally were noteworthy.

Authentisches Kreta

Das kleine Häuschen liegt im ruhigen Ort Pasalites. Es ist mit allem ausgestattet was notwendig ist. Alles vorhanden auch ein Wasserfilter. Sehr liebevoll eingerichtet. Kommunikation mit Sally problemlos. Schönes Töpferdorf Margarites ist gleich um die Ecke. Selbst zum Meer nach Panormo ist man in ca. 20 Minuten.

Authentisches Dörfchen

Wer ein kleines Dörfchen am Rand der Berge sucht und nichts mit Tourirummel zu tun haben mag, pefekt. Panormo liegt 15 Minuten entfernt. Dort gibt es viel Gastronomie und auch ein paar schöne Badebuchten. Was man bei der Erkundung der Naturschönheiten beachten sollte. 1-Stunden Autofahrt sind obligatorisch. Aber es lohnt sich.

Très bel endroit

Alexander villa est dans un très joli petit village très calme, la maison est tres agréable pour un séjour loin de la foule Petit bémol c’est un peu loin des belles plages

Idyllic

This is a really great place if you want to be away from the crowds and the hassle of touristy places. It is secluded and a really peaceful place in the mountains with all the facilities you need. There are so many hidden beaches if you want to cool down that are also less crowded. The local small town offers everything you need and people are just lovely and welcoming.

Peace and Quiet in Paselites

The property is just right for two people, who wish to get away from the crowds. The overall appearance on arrival was one of the property looking a little forlorn. The patio was covered in a carpet of seeds, etc from the trees and the plants in their pots looked very unwell. After two days of us watering them, they started to recover . It just felt as if it needed a bit of TLC. Otherwise a great place to use as a base for exploring Crete.

Wunderschöne Anlage in ruhiger Lage

Bis auf ein fehlendes WLAN - um das man sich sehr bemühte, dass es funktioniert, aber dies leider erfolglos war - gibt es nichts zu beanstanden. Aber wer will schon im Urlaub vor seinem Telefon hängen... Die Beschreibung des Hauses spiegelt dieses genau wieder: Ruhige abgeschiedene Lage. Wer einen Strandurlaub plant sollte sich darüber bewusst sein, dass man etwa 25 Minuten mit dem Kfz zum nächsten schöneren Strand benötigt. Dafür befindet man sich fernab des Massentourismus. In der Mappe im Haus wird zwar wegen des Windes von einem billigen Sonnenschirm abgeraten, aber wir sind auch damit ganz gut zurecht gekommen, wenn wir uns nicht an Stränden mit Liegen befanden. Den Schirm haben wir vor Ort gelassen. Schaden kann es ja nicht. Wer ein ruhiges, abgeschiedenes Ferienhaus sucht und dafür einige Minuten Fahrtzeit zum nächsten Supermarkt, Restaurant oder Strand in kauf nimmt, ist hier genau richtig.

Perfect place

The Villa was in a perfect rural place to explore central Crete. There was everything you could need. All very clean.lovely to sit outside .Very peaceful. Had quick responses from Martin and Sally . The neighbour opposite the Villa gave us fresh basil and figs. A car is a must as nearest bakery and supermarket is a 10min drive away .

Ein kleines Paradies

Wer Ruhe mag und nicht so heisses Wetter, der ist dort am richtigen Platz. Ein sehr schönes gemütliches Paradies für Individualisten. Mit Hauskatze und netten Nachbarn hatten wir ein so schönen Urlaub wie schon lange nicht mehr. Sally und Martin haben ein sehr sauberes und funktionales Domizil geschaffen. Die Hinweise in ihrer Urlaubsmappe waren Gold wert. Alles hat ganz wunderbar funktioniert. Vielen Dank wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

Erholsame Urlaubstage in kretischer Idylle

Von der Buchung, über die Anreise-Infos bis zur Abreise aus dem wunderschönen Domizil hat bei der Planung und Durchführung unserer Urlaubsreise alles reibungslos geklappt. Im gut gepflegten und sauberen Haus haben wir uns (auch Dank der im Juli erforderlichen Klimanlage!) sehr wohl gefühlt. Es hat uns nichts gefehlt. Die Küche war gut ausgestattet. Das Doppelbett (incl. Mückennetz) in prima Zustand und auch das Bad ließ keine Wünsche offen. Die erholsamen Stunden auf der Terrasse mit dem regelmäßigen Besuch 'unserer zugelaufenen Hauskatze' werden wir vermissen. In Sachen 'Mobilität' braucht man - wie schon in der Beschreibung angegeben - für erforderliche Einkäufe, Besuche von Restaurants oder Ausflüge über die wunderschöne Insel ein Auto. Das ist unverzichtbar, bietet allerdings individuelle Erlebnisse und Entdeckungen, die in keinem Reisekatalog zu finden sind. Unser Lieblingsstrand (incl. gleichnamiger Taverne) war in Bali (Karavostasi). Aber auch die traumhafte Badebucht von Sises (Alyki Beach), die überwiegend nicht von Touristen besucht wird, können wir als 'Geheimtipp' empfehlen. Wir werden gerne wiederkommen!

Beautiful property in fabulous countryside location.

There was ample to see and do within a short drive. Booklets and maps left in property very instructive and useful guides. Local taverna provided good selection of vegetarian food. Property immaculate and charming.

Quiet retreat among the olive trees

You'll need a car for this one, as it is out in the rural countryside south of Perama. But the home was perfect for me and has a lovely patio for enjoying the Creta sunshine. It's a wonderful place to be away from it all and to explore the surrounding countryside on Crete's winding roads.

Charmante maison dans un joli petit village.

La maison est située dans un petit village plein de charme et très calme .Elle est très bien équipée , joliment décorée avec une cour très agréable ou l'on peut prendre ses repas . Les classeurs avec les renseignements de fonctionnement et endroits à visiter sont très utiles et bien faits . L'annonce est tout à fait conforme au descriptif(pas de mauvaise surprise) Tous les renseignements avant le départ ( indications du trajet ,recupération des clés...) sont très clairs. Nous avons passé un agéable séjour et nous recommandons cette location.

Modern and clean villa in a stunning mountain setting in a peaceful Cretan village.

Exactly what it said in the description on line and the directions to get here from Sally were spot on. The courtyard was lovely for lounging and the villa is completely self contained with all mod-cons. The power shower and air con came in very useful after a day out sightseeing. Plenty of storage and there were some nice touches with parasols, sun loungers, torches and candles in case of power cuts- we didn't have to use them, external lighting for evening meals, there was even a spring balance to weigh your cases for the trip back - we needed for nothing. We used the villa as a base so visited Knossos, Margarites - ceramic art village, took a stunning drive up Mount Ida to Anogeia and drove to the south coast to a beach called Aya Pavlos - utter heaven. A trip to the Arkadian Monestary is a must - very moving and if you are visiting Eleftherna make it a whole day and go to the museum in the new village first to get the lie of the land - a fascinating place. A couple of days we lay in in the comfy bed and then sun bathed in the courtyard listening to the goats in the adjacent olive grove. The people are friendly our neighbour gave us a gift of freshly picked apricots and fresh oregano - everyone says hello and nothing is too much trouble. Our two weeks flew by and we relaxed well helped by the wine and Raki. Our first visit to Crete and it won't be the last.

We like Crete....always have ...ever since we were students coming here backpacking. In 2008 we built our first house here, in Ag Galini on the south coast. Now we have bought our second property here at Pasalites.

Crete is wonderful .... history, nice beaches, mountains, wildlife. However we prefer the quieter aspects hence both our houses are in isolated locations.

Pasalites is very suited to couples wishing walking, cycling, quiet holidays.

Why they chose this property

We saw this on TV in the UK, on a "Property in the Sun - Home or Away'

In November 2014 we visited and fell in love with it. The sale was completed in January 2015.

What makes this property unique

Peace and quiet! Our daughter says it is 'cute'! Altogether very relaxing. Great romantic getaway, and very suitable for couples wishing a base to explore Crete, or those interested in nature, seclusion, history, or just looking for a quiet getaway.
