"Kelleys Island Escape" is a short walk from downtown Kelleys Island & sleeps 6.

This 2-bedroom house has two full bathrooms; both with walk-in showers. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed. The second bedroom has two twin beds. There is a futon that sleeps two. The house was newly remodeled in 2015. The kitchen was remodeled in 2021. The large deck faces Lake Erie. There are lots of amenities including a gas grill, a 48" TV, newer electric stove, outdoor fire ring, and plenty of parking. The house has A/C and electric baseboard heating. We provide complete kitchen inventory (plates, silverware, pots, etc.), limited bedding (blankets, pillows, and pillow and mattress protectors), and paper products (Please note: bath towels and sheets are NOT provided. There will be an additional $150 charge if you do not bring sheets.)

Overall it was a nice stay and pretty conveniently located. A few things to note: while I can see this as a family friendly place, not necessarily younger kid friendly (under 2)- it was difficult to fit our toddlers pack n’ play in either room; we had to move items out of his reach that weren’t safe, like scissors and other trinkets; the home as a whole was slanted and it seemed to be missing a floor board under the carpet in the master bedroom; the days were hot so keeping the A/C at 72 proved uncomfortable and tough to keep both kids cool, especially in the smaller bedroom which had no A/C unit, only a box fan. Everything was functional and clean and we did have a very nice stay as our first mini vacation as a family of 4.

Home is as described and readily accommodated our group of 5. Do note that there are only two bedrooms. The additional sleeping space is the futon in the family/living room. Kitchen is great and well equipped. The decks on both sides of the house were perfect for enjoying KI mornings and evenings. The house is at the end of a cul-de-sac and is very quiet. That said, it is an easy walk or bike ride to ‘town’. Great stay and we will return!

Beautiful location on KI!

We really enjoyed our stay. Location is convenient, and we appreciated that it is also a quiet spot, which made for a truly restful experience. Property is as listed, with many helpful amenities. Host is excellent!! We would happily stay here again.

Great House close to downtown Kelleys

Great house for 2-3 couples. The house was clean and has a well stocked kitchen. Jeanie was an excellent host and went above and beyond during our stay to make sure we felt welcomed and allowed us to access the house early since we had a wedding during the normal check in time. If you’re looking for a quiet get away that is still close to downtown Kelley’s, this is your place!

Relaxing island stay!

Regular/timely/thorough communication from/with the host. SO cozy! Clean & well stocked other than the linens required in the description. On a quiet street yet close to everything on the island. Would definitely stay here again!!

First time to KI

This was a new experience for our family of 4. We weren’t sure what to expect but are really glad we decided to go. The house was as described and it was a quiet location just off the main road along the lake. We had fun with our rented golf cart everywhere on the island and just were at the house to rest at the end of the day. The house had everything we needed and we plan to rebook in the future!

Very pleasant get away

Location was great tucked away from the noise but yet just close enough to drive the gulf cat to. Was a little upset about the cooling the bedroom that had 2 beds had no ac and got very hot which lead the others who did not sleep in the master bedroom to sleep in living room. Overall the owners and property was amazing. I would just update the spare bedroom with an ac unit

Very responsive property owner

Rented this property for a short stay on Kelley Island. Jeanine is very responsive. House is clean and tidy. Decor is consistent with posted photos. Two wall unit AC units for place. No AC in 2nd bedroom but we kept door opened so not a problem.

Review

The accommodations were nice and very clean. The furniture was comfortable and the location was private and quiet. It was a bit challenging to cool the place as the two window units ran continuously for 48 hours before the desired temperature was reached. I also would have appreciated better directions for the TV and the DVD player (which did not work) as we had some rainy days during our stay and the owner was unable to address this in a timely manner.

Kelleys Island cottage

Very nice 2 bed 2 bath property within walking distance to downtown (15 minute walk). Futon in living room might be ok for kids to sleep on but very uncomfortable for an adult. Bedroom mattresses were very comfortable. There are window air conditioners in the living area and master bedroom but only a portable fan in the bedroom with twin beds. While we were there only the living room air conditioner worked but fortunately it was cool at night so comfortable sleeping with the windows open. Very well equipped kitchen. Nice yard with front deck.

Review

House was very nice. Location was great, island was great. The owner however was not very nice. She knew when we were arriving, we had paid in full, however she followed my friends to the property and verbally attacked them & us & actually said she thought we were “squatters”. Again, she knew when we were arriving, knew how long we were staying & yet was very rude. I am not sure if she was having a bad day or what but there was NO reason for her to speak to us that way. I have booked through VRBO and have never had a problem before😖 we will definitely go back to Kelley’s island but will not book this place again. I have never been treated like that before by anyone, it was very rude and even though she did finally acknowledge that she did get my text message stating the time we were arriving, she never apologized for the way she treated us!!
