Lake Superior Lodge w/Private Lakefront Large Deck, Island Views, Pictured Rocks
Large Home on the shore of Lake Superior. Lodge has all amenities included. Huge 2nd level deck with patio furniture to relax and observe the lake. There is a very large yard and parking area. The Lodge has everything a normal house would have. Dishes, cookware, tableware, etc... There are 5 bedrooms, two with a King, two w/queens, and the 5th has twin full size bunk beds, sleeping a total of 12 guests. There are three full size bathrooms, 2nd level bathroom has a shower/Jacuzzi tub combo and the 1st level bathrooms have shower stalls. Included in your stay is a gas grill with propane, paper towels, toilet paper, garbage bags, hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher soap, laundry detergent and softener as well as coffee filters for our regular drip coffee maker. We don't provide toiletries. All bedding, towels and linens as well as a 55" Smart TV, WiFi and internet streaming service.
Au Train is located in a beautiful rural area, and unlike cities, homes here do not use a municipal water system. Instead, everyone relies on a well system for their water including us! Well water is completely natural an does not contain additives or chemicals such as chlorine, commonly used in city water. Because of this you may notice that the water can taste or smell different than what you're used to at home. We do have a water softener and provide you with a reverse osmosis drinking water system and of course you're welcome to bring bottled water if you prefer.
Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore begins in Munising, which is only a 15 minute drive away and there are over a dozen waterfalls within a 30 mile radius of this home. The National Lakeshore provides days worth of outdoor activities and adventures. Nearby AuTrain Lake and AuTrain River provide a wonderful place to enjoy swimming, water sports, fishing or a relaxing paddle. The AuTrain River provides excellent swimming where it empties into Lake Superior, and kayaking as it winds 7+ miles through the Hiawatha National Forest. Kayak rentals are available, otherwise feel free to bring your own, there is plenty of space to park your boat, trailer or whatever you bring. If you are into fishing, Bass, Walleye or Pike are your most commonly fished in AuTrain Lake, and Trout and Salmon in Lake Superior. Kayaks are available for rent.
I have seen nearly everything in this area and am a great resource during your stay. I will meet with you after you arrive and give you advice about the area and things you can enjoy during your vacation.

Gorgeous view of Lake Superior. Huge deck & nice outside area. House was a described. Nice open concept kitchen/ living area for family gatherings. Beds were comfy, kitchen was well stocked. Could use some updating and was a little disappointed to find both electric fireplaces not working. Would definitely stay again. Great location in between Munising & Marquette close to lots of waterfalls.
A beautiful spot to escape to. We had 8 people stay here for a weekend. The hosts offer plenty of advice for things to do, especially in the warmer months. It is also so quiet and peaceful here. I would highly recommend this lovely property for your stay.
Excellent setup and location for snowmobilers and UTV riders Large circle drive, and near the trailsVery good communication with the ownerNeeds a little TLC but overall good for our snowmobile trip
We had a wonderful stay. The cabin is perfect for a weekend getaway with friends. It’s in a great location - we were able to swim at a beach down the road, see Pictured Rocks, and get food in town. Thank you for hosting us!
Really enjoyed our stay with the kids. House is close yo a lovely beach, water falls and great towns. House accommodated our group of 10 very well. Beautiful views of Lake Superior!
Location was fantastic. Our kids loved that yard and climbing the rocks. A small issue with the house came up but the property management team handled it well and promptly.
we loved our stay at this cabin! the kids had a great time trying to skip rocks. We loved how close we were to the activities we already had booked around Lake Superior!
The location of this cottage is excellent! It is near several hiking trails, public beaches, a great grocery store and restaurants. We LOVED the deck and the swing by the water. The interior was well-appointed and comfortable with lots of seating and sleeping options. We appreciated having WiFi access. The host supplied detailed, easy to follow information for check-in and check-out. We hope to come back to this wonderful cottage.
We had an amazing time! The location was a beautiful backdrop to celebrate our son's college graduation. The property was well equipped and the family loved the location. Stunning views!
It was a great location, everyone in our large group was comfortable, kids had space and so did the adults. Conviently located close to more things than we could pack in for one trip. Would stay again
Great location and absolutely stunning sun rises over Lake Superior. Was comfortable for a large family. Would recommend a few extra blankets on beds and better pillows but overall really happy with our stay.
We had a very nice and relaxing time staying at this Vrbo. Love that there were five bedrooms and three bathrooms so each couple had their own. Nice kitchen and living room and laundry room also. The view from the large deck was amazing!!! We would definitely recommend staying there!
Comfortable vacation home right on Lake Superior. Enjoyed the lake views from sunrise to dark each day. Home was nice and spacious for a large family, with good Wi-Fi, and A/C on the one evening we wanted it. I hope to return next summer.
We had a terrific week of relaxing after cross country skiing. The view of Lake Superior is gorgeous, and the house layout was perfect for our group of seven. Thanks, Cory!!
