We recently stayed in this beautiful cottage which is in lovely grounds
Two clean and spacious bedrooms with very comfortable beds
Powerful shower too
Would highly recommend staying here and we will definitely return
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay thank you
A perfect retreat, easy to get to Melrose but the peace and quiet of the country.
The accommodation was faultless, comfortable, clean and well equipped.
Fantastic shower and the most comfortable bed.
Set just outside the centre of Melrose the Saddlery is just what we were looking for-
Home from home in a peaceful setting. So much to see ,do and discover in the area. In addition , we experienced several excellent restaurants .
Wir haben uns bei Donald und Claire so wohl gefühlt, dass wir gerne länger geblieben wären. Idyllisches Cottage, klassisch eingerichtet mit toller Küche und schönen Schlafzimmern. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

My family loved this cottage.
I booked Saddlery Cottage for my family (2 adults, 3 children) as we couldn't accommodate them in our flat. It was ideal - just 5 minutes away from us.Everyone really liked staying somewhere with so much character. The cottage was comfortable and spacious, and the children made good use of the huge garden. It was wonderful to be able to have meals outside too. We all appreciated Claire and Donald's kindness - they gave us a great holiday.

Weekend break with friends from the US
Wanted to bring our friends to Scotland and found this cottage. It was just perfect. Clare and Donald were perfect hosts and the cottage had everything we could need and more. Lovely surroundings and handy for Melrose and took the train from nearby Tweedbank into Edinburgh. Would definitely go back again and highly recommend it.

Our second visit
This was the second year we have stayed at the cottage and it was excellent again this year. It is well maintained in a quiet and peaceful spot. If the weather is good it is only a 25 minute easy stroll into town for an evening meal, though do take care down the lane at the start.Other wise parking in Melrose is not a problem. We will be back again next year.

Wonderful cottage! I'd 100% recommend to others!
My family and I visit Scotland almost yearly to see my sister who lives near to Jedburgh. We'd never heard of this cottage before but we found it online and were automatically interested given it's location, price and beautiful pictures!
The owners were wonderful and very helpful leading up to our stay.
On arrival we found the cottage to be much larger than we expected! We had 5 adults, 1 child and a dog in our party and the cottage was a perfect size for all of us. The cottage was very clean and tidy and decorated for comfort. Our dog and 2 year old absolutely loved playing on the huge patch of grass right outside the front door!
The owners were extremely welcoming and friendly. Just what we needed after a 6 hour journey from Cambridgeshire!
We would 100% recommend this cottage to others. We will definitely be staying again in the future!

Superb cottage in a lovely location
This was our second long weekend in Saddlery Cottage and we will be returning. The cottage is quiet, well away from a main road and the adjoining field was perfect for walking our dog. It is tastefully and comfortably furnished and it provided everything we might need. The kitchen has all the appliances including a dishwasher. and washing machine. I have to say we didn't use most of them because tempting restaurants are just five minutes away but for a longer stay we would be well catered for in the cottage. Melrose is minutes from the A68 so we were easily able to reach places of interest. For us it was a perfect place to chill out and recharge our batteries. The owner showed us the smaller, one-bedroom cottage which was equally well appointed and charming. It would be a satisfactory second choice if Saddlery Cottage wasn't available. Highly recommended.

Excellent base for exploring Melrose and beyond
We spent a few days in this comfortable and cosy cottage but we could easily have spent longer. The cottage is in a quiet location, is very well equipped and we were made very welcome by the Macdonald family. In one direction it's a straight forward walk to Melrose itself and in the other a slightly longer walk to the hills and beyond. Our dog had a fantastic time too and we hope to return in the future.

Lovely quiet location
The cottage was well appointed and we had a warm welcome from the owner. It was a very convenient location for our stay in the Scottish Borders with easy access to all the ploaces we wanted to visit. It is a little way out of town, but it only took 10 minutes to walk in of an evening for a meal, when we dined out.

Stunning dog friendly cottage
This beautiful cottage was a stones throw from Melrose and served as a perfect base to explore the surrounding Scottish boarders. With 2 very spacious bedrooms, a very modern layout with a seperate large kitchen/diner, free wifi is a bonus. I stayed here for a weekend break with my friend, her son and our dogs and look forward to returning in the future. The owners Claire and Donald are really nice hosts and are very lucky to own such a pretty cottage.

A Great Find...
Saddlery Cottage was perfect for our visit to Melrose and I was delighted when we arrived. Situated in the grounds of a large stately home and coach house the cottage is surrounded by lovely gardens down a cobbled drive. The cottage is quaint yet well equipped and very comfortable. The hosts were very warm and helpful. Would highly recommend the cottage and hope to make it back in the future!

Lovely weekend break
Just back from 2 nights at Saddlery Cottage, with our 2 young kids. The cottage is lovely, really well equipped, spacious and comfortable. Great spot, close to the town and close to Eildon Hills for a fab afternoon's walk and great views of the surrounding area. Would recommend this for a short break or longer - we'd happily have stayed for longer!
