Amazing experience

Very nice, clean, comfy, big and cozy place. Perfect experience in an incredible village. We are in love with Camon and our wonderful guest Liz. A really recommended place to explore South of France. ❤️

Beautiful property both inside and out, beautifully clean and well presented. Liz and Colin had thought of everything, and more - the kitchen was extremely well equipped, the lounge area was comfortable with plenty of seating, bedrooms were comfortable and a good size. We also really appreciated the basket full of items that you may have forgotten to bring with you.

A lovely place

Despite a subdued mood caused by the impact of the illness and subsequent death of a family member back in England, we managed to enjoy this beautiful corner of Ariege, The accomodation was to a high standard and meticulously arranged. Camon is a beautiful little town. We enjoyed cycling on the local roads and on the Voie Verte that could be accessed close by. We explored Mirepoix and other attractive hamlets and towns of the Ariege. Liz and Colin were excellent, supportive hosts.

Wonderful Gitte in Camon

We had a great stay at the gitte of Elisabeth and Collin (they are really nice!). We immediately feld at home! The house is in the lovely village Camon. There is a depot de pain, which is just around the corner. We had a great time with the life music at the Camonette. They serve good food and good music. There are nice villages around Camon but also had a great day out in les Angles (Pyrenees), Andorra and Puicerda (just across the Spanish border).

Comfortable and roomy gite in Camon, a beautiful village in the Ariege district

The “ gite” in Camon is comfortable and roomy and Liz is a wonderful host. She has thought of everything you could need to make for a pleasant stay. She was always available to answer our questions and was happy to give good suggestions about places to visit. During our stay in May, the rose bushes that adorn the village buildings were covered in buds. We could only imagine how, in another 10 days or so, Camon would live up to its description in the guide books as “ the most beautiful village in the south of a France”. But even without the flowers in bloom, this village offered traditional French charm and tranquility, and even a craft beer pub down the road in a neighbouring village. The restaurant at L’Abbaye de Camon is a must to visit for a special meal. Thank you, Liz, for providing a wonderful base for us to enjoy an amazing experience in this beautiful part of France.

Just perfect....

Having read previous reviews, we knew we were in for a treat, but just how big a treat!! Camon is just beautiful. Liz and Colin are perfect hosts who respond to every single need. The house is stunning, beautifully fitted and with every possible comfort provided (including fresh and delicious eggs from their chickens!). Liz is also an encyclopaedia of local knowledge which for us, who have never visited the area, was extremely useful. Whilst the weather was mixed (given it was early April, that was not surprising!) we managed to fill our days, either just taking it easy, walking around the areas or travelling around locally through the most beautiful scenery. One of our party - an avid cyclist - absolutely loved cycling the mountain roads! This is just an absolute gem of a property hosted by 2 very genuine and generous hosts. Thank you Liz & Colin!! We'll be back!!

Accueil très sympathique avec un panier comprenant les oeufs frais des poules !Elizabeth est très attentive au bien-être de ses hôtes par des petits gestes et nous étions comme à la maison (couverture sur le canapé, les couverts en quantité,etc.).

I am really surprised by your 3 star rating because you didn't mention any problems during your stay and you and your family chatted very happily whenever our paths crossed. It's especially disappointing because I went to great lengths to change the configuration of the rooms and then added two more extra beds, to accommodate at least one extra guest you added a few days before your arrival, with no extra payment. I sent you a friendly message on your second day, checking that everything was alright and asking if you had found everything you needed, but as you didn't reply I have no idea why you marked us down. I think this proves it's usually best to ask questions or say if there are any problems because that gives the host a chance to explain things or provide anything you feel is missing. We really do want everyone to have a good time.

Super sejour

Sejour tres sympa de 4 jours dans cette superbe maison d'Elisabeth. Salon , pièce à a vivre immense décorée avec soin et les 3 chambres extra avec 3 lits king size . Tout est nickel. Très propre et le village est typique. Elisabeth est tres sympathique et est aux petits soins. Je recommande vivement . Tout etaittop!

Dans un petit village charmant et dans un environnement de roses un gîte où on se sent bien. Elisabeth et Colin ont tout prévu pour faciliter notre séjour. Wonderful place with great finishing touches

Liz and Colin have created a wonderful home away from home with everything you could hope for to make a great holiday. We stayed as a family and the house was perfectly equipped and very spacious - providing ample space for social activities or room for everyone to have a little downtime to themselves. You could easily use the house as a family or as a group of friends travelling together. Liz and Colin really have thought of everything, from beach towels for a trip to the lake, pétanque for an outside game to board games and books to relax inside. They have also provided a wealth of information about the surrounding area and what to see and do, with some great recommendations - we explored underground rivers, high wires in trees for the kids, a trip to the Pyrenees, a visit to the lake and many more, in 10 days we never drove more than c.45mins away as the house is perfectly located. You can even start a hike from your doorstep! Liz and Colin were wonderful hosts, very welcoming and very knowledgeable about the area. We like to consider a new destination for any new trip away but are seriously considering rebooking here due the the extremely high standard of the house and the wealth of things to do in the area. Thank you Liz Colin and of course Bobby!

Wonderful stay in Camon!

Liz and Colin were fantastic hosts! Every possible need had been anticipated. There was even a wind-up lamp in the bedside table just in case of power outage. Beautiful setting, with a gurgling river in the distance. We loved our time there and can’t wait to go back!

Maison conviviale

Excellent séjour à Camon

Merci à Elizabeth et Colin pour leur gentillesse, leur accueil, leurs attentions, leur dévouement. Leur gîte est vraiment top, très propre, trés joliment décoré, agréable à vivre. Belle découverte de l'Ariège

Camon est un beau village à découvrir, permettant des randonnées faciles en famille et la visite de sites remarquables : Mirepoix, Foix, Carcassonne....un grand merci à Elisabeth et Colin pour leur accueil exceptionnel. Ils font tout pour qu'on se sente chez nous chez eux. La maison est très bien équipée. Très belle semaine ariégeoise....
