Black Bear Summit, formerly Cool View Cabin, offers awe-inspiring views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Lake Lure, and the peaceful rolling ridges beyond. Nestled atop Gateway Mountain, a private, 3,000-acre nature preserve, this charming log cabin is the perfect retreat for family and friends seeking a quiet getaway that's still convenient to all that Western North Carolina has to offer.
About the Home
• Spacious kitchen with gourmet 6-burner gas range, dishwasher, two types of coffee makers (standard Drip and Keurig), and island seating for 4
• Open-concept dining area with seating for 6
• Living room with wood stove, smart TV (streaming and satellite), books, games, and puzzles
• Wrap-around deck with outdoor dining and additional seating
• Upper-level loft with dedicated workspace and reading nook
• Lower-level recreation space with a poker table and access to the lower-level patio with a hot tub

• Two main-level bedrooms, each with a queen-size bed; a full bathroom, with a walk-in shower and a jetted soaking tub, can be accessed from the hallway
• Upper-level primary bedroom with king-size bed, Smart TV for streaming, and en suite bathroom with walk-in shower and clawfoot soaking tub

From December through March, please come prepared with AWD or 4WD vehicles.
We also recommend travel insurance for those staying in the Gateway Mountain development during the winter months. No parking is allowed on roadways or at gate entrances. No RVs, boat trailers, camping trailers, or trailers of any kind are permitted in the Gateway Mountain Community.
