We had a great time at property. It was a perfect location near the Big Timber Rodeo and so close to town, so you felt like you were in the country. The two things that weren't fantastic were the amount of mosquitoes and that there's mice about. You can't really do much with either of them since there's been soooo much rain and there's water all around you. Mice, well there's not much you can do about them out there either, but it's not like we saw them, just their evidence. The sunsets and storms with the mountains were beautiful to watch from the property. It was great to see ducks, other water fowl, and deer from the window. The swimming hole in the creek looked so picturesque with the firepit. They have a washer, drier, clothesline, cds to listen to, bug spray, games, books, and everything you need to just stay in and relax. There's no tv, but they have internet. My kids loved their game room. The owners were very nice and quick communication. There was never any problems and everyone said they'd stay there again! It felt so homey and it was fun to explore this rustic property with so much character 💖

Thank you, Lynette! So happy everything was 5 star for you and your family ! It truly is an amazing spot 😊. We appreciate your nice comments! Side note: we have now installed electronic pest control as due to young visitors (and sometimes pets) we avoid any harsh or poisonous methods. Again, thank you - hope to have you stay again !
Wonderful property and beautiful home. We enjoyed fishing, swimming and even the local rodeo. Owners were so kind and helpful with anything we needed. Definitely hope to return here 🙂
This property is a great hunting/fishing lodge type, but is still a great place even if you aren't engaging in any hunting or fishing! Very clean, comfortable, and lots of land to explore! And the hosts are extremely communicative and helpful! Wonderful stay!

As advertised. Great cabin and property!
I come to Big Timber every year to do some fly fishing so I am familiar with the area and town. This cabin was perfect. My favorite part was walking the land and walking the river. You can actually fly fish behind the cabin. The front porch was nice also. Another good thing was the cabin is about a mile from downtown so you get the Montana feel with the cabin and the land but you can zip into town for dinner, groceries etc. Lastly the communication with the owners was great. I will recommend.

Our Best Family Vacation
The cabin and property exceeded my families expectations. When we arrived at 8:45 pm it was still sunny, the air was cool, crisp and clean. Birds were singing, the grass was green, the mountains still had snowcaps and the pond was beautiful. We saw the largest deer we've ever seen, a bald eagle was in a tree right by the Yellowstone River. This property is heavenly. We were all blown away. My family enjoyed the cabin and the property more than we ever expected. We hope to be back soon. We left Big Timber for Yellowstone Park and on the way back we had to make one last stop in Big Timber. We loved Yellowstone Park but the highlight of our trip was this property. We absolutely loved our stay on this property.

Country Scerenity, town convienience.
This very nice cabin is just outside of Big Timber, yet in a very private setting, complete with Yellowstone river frontage. The inside was well kept and definitely Montana. There is plenty of room for up to 8 I would say. It is only a couple minutes to downtown Big Timber, and only a couple more to the interstate. It was so nice being able to relax in a country setting, take walks thru the property and notice all the deer, birds , and the beautiful Yellowstone river. I was not lucky enough this trip to take a guided fishing trip with the owner, a professional guide for trout, but will return to do that some time this year. It is also centrally located between Yellowstone N.P. and Red Lodge along the interstate. I would highly recommend this cabin for anyone from fisherman , hunters, nature lovers, heck anyone who wants to experience Montana at it's best!

Great place to unwind, relax and enjoy
I stayed for a few days with my uncle. The cabin was great with a ton of western charm. The property is beautiful, views amazing and fishing off the charts. If you want the "Real McCoy" and looking for a great western experience, this property is it and is enjoyable. Tons of wildlife. Quiet. Charming. it's got it all.

Nice location to Big Timber and plenty of room.
Lots of land and great location in relation to Big Timber, MT. We enjoyed time with family in living room/kitchen area and liked that the kitchen was fully equipped so did not have to go out to eat all the time. House seemed relatively clean but there were mouse droppings in the bedroom dressers and in the kitchen under sink (yuck!). We just washed all the dishes/pots/pans, etc. before using them and left our clothes in our luggage. Also, we could not find washrags anywhere - not even for the kitchen.

Thank you for your review although we are disappointed. We apologize for any issue you may have had as we strive to exceed all expectations and provide three contacts for guests to reach out to via email, VRBO messaging, phone and/or text. We wish you would have contacted us so we could have answered any questions and taken care of any situation. The house is, of course, cleaned thoroughly after every stay, and reviewed when the keys are dropped (the night before or morning of arrival). At that point, there were no signs of mice of which I am aware. That said, we did have areas reviewed and cleaned/disinfected upon seeing the note you left after your stay regarding droppings and are confident it has been taken care of, and will be rechecked. Regarding the washrags, there is a large drawer of dishtowels, etc in the kitchen as well as sponges, etc under the sink. We appreciate your comments and hope this answered the situation.

Camp Swampy "The Best Place to stay ever"
I travail all over Montana . And camp Swampy is By far the best place I have ever stayed..It just feels like home you never want to leave. With some of the best fishing in Montana the Yellowstone,Boulder and Gallatin, And if you are real lucky Dale will tell you where the hot spots are that week and what Fly's are working. He is the BEST fish guide EVER, weather your new or old to the sport, walking the creek or my favorite having him guide you down the Yellowstone for the day in his drift boat and then finishing the day at camp swampy ( Life doesn't get any better than that )

Camp Swampy - one of my favorite places in Montana
I've been fishing and hunting in Montana for 45 years and the area around Camp S is in one of my favorite parts of the state. Fishing and floating opportunities are wonderful with the Yellowstone River bordering the property and the Boulder River very close by. Bird life and wildlife abound on the property - there are even some secretive big brown trout that call the place home. Upland bird hunting in the area is also outstanding.
Dale and I serve on the board of the Public Land/Water Access Association (www.plwa.org), an organic Montana sportsman's organization that has been defending Montana's great stream access law in court for many years. We hold our directions meeting at Camp S whenever possible. The site is centrally located in a prime part of Montana and the outdoor atmosphere there is very conducive to our mission. Bird life and wildlife abound on the property.
Whether you just have a weekend to relax or a month to enjoy Montana you will not run out of things to do in the area. Excellent dining options are available in Big Timber and if you enjoy a few drinks with dinner town is even in walking distance.
If you'd like to experience Montana at it's best or are just looking to kick back for a weekend Camp S is a premier vacation destination.
