About this property

Private Waterfront Cottage On Little Hawk Lake. 3+1 Bedroom, Water Access Only.

The original cottage was built in 1962, the re-built cottage was done in 2010. It sits on 1 acre of land surrounded by acres and acres of crown land in a very private bay with only 3 other cottages. It has 3 bedrooms (one queen, two double beds), plus a “bunk house” (double bed + Bunk beds). There are also 3 tent platforms on the property if you want to sleep under the stars. It is a water access cottage. You will need to either book a water taxi to and from the property through Oakview Lodge and Marina ask for Greg or Anna. Alternately if you have your Boaters license we can include a 14ft fishing boat (please send copy of license to owners) additional fee may apply. There are 2 canoes, and a kayak available for use included in the rental fee. The main dock is a 60 ft. floating dock, which is great for swimming, fishing, sunbathing and late afternoon cocktails. There is an old floating swim platform that hosts the tetherball pole, because playing tetherball on a floating raft is way more fun! There is a fantastic rope swing on the lake (blueberry island), and cliff jumping on Big Hawk lake. Little Hawk is reported to be the deepest lake in the Haliburton area which means very clean water and shore line. Terrific fishing, waterskiing, wake boarding, tubing etc.
You will be expected to take all garbage and recycling with you when you leave. The Hawk Lake Landfill is on Little Hawk Lake Road as you leave.
Check in time, around 3-4pm. Check out by 11am.

Darren and I have been married for over 25 years. We have 2 beautiful daughters and some wonderful friends and family. We view our cottage as a very special place to spend time together and create life long memories. We hope anyone renting the cottage feels the same way about our little piece of heaven.

Why they chose this property

We had been cottaging in the Halliburton area for over 10 years. We searched for the perfect cottage property for over 5 years. We were ok to tackle a cottage renovation, but the land/property had to be spectacular. We wanted lots of all day sun, and a sun set from the dock. Oh yes, and no major cliffs for little ones to fall off, not too far away from the water. Yes we were picky. But, we are so happy we waited. We love our location on the lake, and are so happy with our cottage re-build. The views of the lake and bay are so fantastic, you really have to see it for yourself.

What makes this property unique

Privacy, freedom to hike, swim, boat, explore the neighbouring lakes. Not having neighbours anywhere near you is the advantage of a water access cottage! If you like the great outdoors and want a real cottage experience (not just a house rental on the lake), then this is the cottage for you.
