Lovely stay
We spent 3 nights at the cottage and it was very comfortable. Everything was spotless and thoughtful touches like current magazines and chocolates. Tranquil setting to sit outside and enjoy the view of the white horse. Lovely village with a community run shop and pub.

Perfect in every way!!
My husband and I spent 3 nights at Copse Cottage over Easter and it was everything we needed for a complete R&R moment. The cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed … a very home from home feeling and experience. Beautiful decor and ambience, warm and cosy we were very comfortable. The location, views and quietness suited us perfectly and yes you do need a car to get around but you are literally in the middle of beautiful Wiltshire countryside … what’s not to love! Sally was a wonderful host and we can only say a huge thank you for your generosity. We have already booked our next visit!! 10/10 from us both … the best!! Jazz light Dollie & Paul HJ

Perfection!
The best cottage we’ve ever stayed in! So lucky to have found it. Perfect location, excellent walks on the doorstep and a friendly welcoming pub within walking distance. The cottage has literally everything you need for the perfect break (we particularly loved the nespresso machine!) Thank you Sally and Charles - faultless!

Beautifully appointed bolt hole in countryside
The cottage is beautifully decorated and appointed with everything you need. It is extremely comfortable and modern with little touches such as sweets, milk and eggs. It is well situated for the local countryside, attractions and village pub. There's plenty to keep you occupied in the area for a week. The owners are very friendly and were super helpful before arrival. You have your own parking space and seating area. It perhaps just lacks a garden area to relax in but you don't have to walk far to be in the fields or by the canal. A lovely spot which we would definitely return to. Thank you for a lovely stay.

About the host

Host profile image
Charles and Sally have lived in the area since getting married in 1988. Our children have all grown up in Wiltshire but have now left home.

Why they chose this property

Wiltshire is an enchanted place where you feel close to the earth and the ever-changing big skies. Renowned for iconic white horses carved into the rolling downs, almost half of Wiltshire is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and there are numerous ways to enjoy our quintessentially English countryside, from walking, cycling and horse-riding to fishing, golf, canal boat trips and more.

With so many food and drink options you can relax while sampling traditional Wiltshire specialities at tearooms, pubs and restaurants around the county. Enjoy a little retail therapy at the designer and factory outlets in Swindon and Wilton or browse the many independent retailers to be found in the charming market towns.

What makes this property unique

Copse Cottage has an enviable position on the edge of the Village with views from the Cottage of the Alton Barnes White Horse, chalked into the hillside. Our guests love the peace and quiet, but the closeness of things to see, there is plenty in Wiltshire to keep you busy every day.
