The house, characteristic for the Calvados region, is very spaceous and full of charm. Located at the back end of a large property, fully bordered by hedges, with plenty of space to enjoy the sun/ shade and lots of space for kids to play. The property is at the D979 road which is not busy resulting in a quite stay.
The friendly owner welcomed us upon arrival and provided us with information on the house for a good stay, information on things to visit etc. In case of need he can be easily contacted.
We had a very nice time in the house. The house remains cool even with hot outside temperatures.
Only thing we did miss were some relaxing garden chairs (now only teakwood dining chairs and a large table were present and 1 sunbed)

The property was great for what we needed it for, however, it was a bit tired, and whilst not unclean there were remaining items from previous guests (used sponges and personal items, and lots of food/out of date milk etc). The property is spacious for a family, however there were a few things broken or not enough of (door handle, smashed bottle in freezer, toilet and sink plumbing very susceptible to blocking easily, not enough mugs for a family of 7 adults). We enjoyed our stay, however on check in there was no key to lock the door, that we had been told would be waiting for us upon arrival. A new key was requested, but we were asked to stay in to wait, or pick it up from the postal office which was not convenient for us when having a short visit to family abroad that we don’t see often at all. With a young daughter, we didn’t feel wholly comfortable not having a locked access door for the entire visit/booking.
Fantastic property and location! House is well equipped and in a quiet countryside location. We stayed for a week: used the indoor fireplace, outdoor BBQ grille, and made several meals. TV and cable, though we watched TV with wifi. You can't ask for a more pleasant location, about 5 miles from the nearest town with shops. Washer, DW, clothesline, etc. Host (Cyrille) very willing to help. Large orchard - we made applesauce. Plenty of attractions within 2 hour radius. Would highly recommend and would stay there again! Perfect for relaxing.
