This is a familiar house, located in a quiet area in North Portugal within easy reach of the Peneda-Gerês National Park. The pool and terraced gardens overlook the dam of Caniçada , and the clean air and silence are the perfect setting for a relaxing holiday. The house is fully furnished and equipped. It has full central heating for winter bookings, and it is cleaned & beds are changed halfway through stays of 7 nights or more. All bed linen and towels are provided. Outside, there is a barbecue area and a garden with plenty of various and wonderful plants and flowers . Near the pool there is also a small kitchenette. The house offers free wifi, a ping pong table, table football, and a high level of privacy with a magnificent panorama view over the dam and mountains.

The nearest places with supermarkets, coffee/tea rooms are Cerdeirinhas (2 km), Vieira do Minho (6 km) and Termas do Gerês (20 km). Walking through the mountains, tasting the Portuguese cuisine and our Vinho Verde ('Green Wine') or visiting our cities, full of history and monuments, are good opportunities for your vacation.
Very close to our house you can also find numerous activities, either in water or land: Strolls - all land, horse, pedestrians, bicycle, 4x4, scaling and rappel, water sports, etc.

We have spent two relaxed weeks at Dikitaru, very much enjoying the great view, beautiful garden and swimming pool which was very welcome given the heat. Dikitaru is the perfect location to go on hiking tours in the mountains and enjoy living in the countryside with small supermarktes however being nearby. We have also taken trips to Braga and Porto which are not too far away. Susana was a wonderful host, always helpful and patient when we had questions.

Beautiful house

We stayed here a week as a family. The house is a perfect holiday location, with everything you wish for. Loads of garden and a private pool that is simply awesome. Great communication with Susana, couldn’t wish for more. Would definitely recommend this house!

Fantastic view and spacious house in amazing part of Portugal!

We had a very nice stay in Casa Dikitaru, with is situated in an optimal location if you’d like to hike in lush mountains, enjoy breathtaking views and swim in clear lakes and waterfalls. The house is spacious for two adults and two children, and we felt at home at once- so though we had some rainy days we still had a good time. Susana is an fantastic host and she will help you with every question you have and furthermore she offers good advices on where to go and which restaurents to visit. Thank you very much for a lovely stay.

A gem in the country side

It's a little house but still you have privacy and plenty of room. We loved the pool area with sunbeds, football table and shower/toilet. The house had a great wifi-network (the best one we have ever had in a rented house across Europe (the teenagers was happy). Three good bedrooms and a well-equipped kitchen (a bootle of Portugues wine as a welcome is always appreciated!). It's plenty of very good restaurants in the nearby area (a car is though needed). If you get tired of laying in the sun. day trips to Porto, Braga and Guimaraez are a good thing to do. All in all, living here for a week was a perfect end of this year's holliday in lovley Portugal!

A relaxing, comfortable stay in a beautiful spot

Dikitaru is located on the banks of the Rio Cavados on the edge of the Peneda-Geres national park, which is a beautiful area to explore and was remarkably free of tourists when we were there at the beginning of July. In the national park there are many hiking trails, some with waterfalls along the way that you can swim in, though the roads can be quite winding, so driving in this area requires concentration! The house is quiet, comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace looking across the river to the hills of the national park on the other side. The pool was super, and enjoyed by all; very necessary to cool off in given the 30 degree temperatures when we stayed! You can also swim at river beaches in the area. We tried a number of local restaurants, all good hearty fare and reasonably priced. The lovely Medieval towns of Guimaraes and Ponte da Lima are around an hour away and well worth a visit.

Drove own car to property from England, found property easily, Susana met us there with keys and went through everything. Property completely secluded and extremely quiet. We cater for ourselves rather than eat out, there seemed plenty of local restaurants while driving around. Really easy to get to supermarket in Viero du Minho, everything you would need there. We were unlucky with the weather, had a few rainy days but sun came out and it turned hot, pool was used. We went for R and R property and area suited our purpose. Worth a trip to Ponte Lima and the scenic drives, not for the faint hearted!! My only comment would be to have improved views to the river from the terrace, some of the shrubbery needs pruning. We had added company from Trevor the Toad and Larry the Lizzard !! Great time overall.

Glorious home in stunning location

What Can I say about Gloria’s home? It is a real treat! A restful home away from home. Gloria was a delight to deal with, from pre holiday communications to meeting her on our arrival day. Everything was perfect we were given such a warm welcome and home made treats which we were very glad of having arrived hungry from the airport. The property is beautiful with everything you could possibly want there. The gardens and pool area are particularly lovely and we made good use of the stone built barbecue. The house is so well equipped that you could easily spend your whole time there and not be disappointed. The area is a delight and there is lots to do locally should you wish to. We had a fantastic day travelling into the mountains on quad bikes and an equally great time visiting a local vineyard. There are some beautiful sights nearby some of which are deserted even in August. It was my first time in Portugal but I will definitely be back. It is a beautiful area of a beautiful country and the locals are so welcoming and accommodating. One note of caution, bring plenty of cash, not many of the local restaurants and attractions take international credit cards. If you are looking for an authentic and relaxing holiday this is definitely the place for you.

Location très décevante. Séjour gâché. Sécurité non assurée.Gestion pas à la hauteur : réactivité lente, pas de présence sur place (échanges par WhatsApp). A notre arrivée déjà, deux frelons européens ou asiatiques morts devant la porte fenêtre donnant sur la terrasse. Étonnant que cela ait pu échapper à la préparation faite avant chaque arrivée.Dès le dimanche, nous avons un frelon dans la maison. Le lundi soir nous en avons trois. Ils passent par une fissure du plafond et de la cheminée.Malgré mes nombreux messages (au moins 15 SMS dans la seule journée de mardi), le problème n’a été traité qu’en fin d’après-midi. Et encore "traité" est vite dit. L’intervention intérieure a consisté à boucher la fissure avec de la mousse expansive. Les frelons ont continué leur activité dans la cheminée toute la semaine, activité visible de l'extérieur. Nous pensions qu'il y aurait une intervention dans la semaine....Présence d'un nid de guêpes sur un poteau à 3 mètres de la terrasse, signalée dès le lundi mais jamais traitée. Résultat : nous avons été gênés chaque jour à la piscine et sur la terrasse.Piscine non entretenue :Contrairement à l’annonce qui annonce un entretien 3 fois par semaine, personne n'est intervenue. Résultat : amas de feuilles, poussière accumulée par le vent, et apparition de taches jaunes visibles au fond du bassin.Il y a d'autres problèmes mais ce sont les principaux. Entretien négligé, gestion approximative, je ne recommande pas cette location

A casa é ainda melhor do que o anunciado: muito bonita, bem pensada e agradável. Para quem viaja com bebés ou crianças pequenas e se preocupa com a piscina, há 2 áreas independentes que podem ser isoladas com portões. Assim, os pequenos podem brincar e circular em segurança, sem risco de acesso à piscina. Um detalhe extra que me surpreendeu positivamente.

Schöner Spätsommeraufenthalt

Susana ist sehr nett und um ihre Gäste bemüht. Die Lage des Hauses ist traumhaft (allerdings braucht man natürlich überall hin eine Weile). Vielleicht war es ein "end of season"-Phänomen, aber während unseres Aufenthaltes gingen zuerst ein WC-Abfluss und dann ein elektronischer Rolladen kaputt. Es wurde beides repariert, aber es war nervig, sich darum kümmern zu müssen. Auch bei den neuen Handtüchern und der Bettwäsche nach einer Woche war es so, dass ich mehrfach nachfragen musste. Außerdem hatte ich gegen Ende den Eindruck, dass der Pool nicht mehr morgens gereinigt wurde, obwohl es aufgrund des Windes durchaus nötig gewesen wäre. Das musste man dann auch selber machen. Diese Punkte haben den ansonsten guten Eindruck dieser eigentlich schönen Unterkunft leider ein wenig getrübt...

Un séjour excellent de bout en bout !

Casa Dikitaru est vraiment une maison très agréable et parfaite pour respirer au grand air et déconnecter de la vie en ville plus stressante. Le jardin absolument magnifique est tellement grand qu'il permet de se faire des balades pour digérer après manger ^^. La piscine et le baby foot en contrebas de la maison sont vraiment la cerise sur le gâteau de cette prestation. Je rejoins un autre commentaire disant qu'on s'y sent tellement bien que l'on a pas envie d'aller autre part haha ^^ De plus le contact avec la propriétaire de la maison était excellent, une personne vraiment à l'écoute, qui a su réagir très vite pour les questions et imprévus du séjour. Nous avons vraiment apprécié sa gentillesse et sa réactivité. Un grand merci à elle pour nous avoir offert de très belles vacances ! Je conseille vivement cette offre à tout le monde, vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés ;-)

Sehr schöne FeWo

Sehr schöne, große und gut ausgestattete Ferienwohnung. Ideal zum Entspannen und Natur genießen, selbst wenn das Wetter mal nicht so gut ist. Schöne Wanderungen in der Nähe mit tollen Wasserfällen, in denen man baden kann. Die Vermieterin ist super nett und hilfsbereit.

Obrigada por tudo, Gloria!

Liebe Gloria, wir haben uns sehr gut erholt in Ihrem schönen Refugium. Es war ein Traum, jeden Morgen mit Aussicht auf die Berge und den See zu frühstücken, im Pool zu baden, der mit Palmen in dem schönen, gepflegten, blühenden Garten liegt. Es gab Eidechsen und Kröten zu entdecken. Wir lieben es, ungestört für uns zu sein, niemand schaut in das Grundstück hinein. Es gab Wassersportgeräte, Tischtennis (lieben wir), Tischkicker (machte viel Spaß), genug Geschirr. Alles war schön eingerichtet. Klar, man braucht ein Auto, aber wir waren auch wandern, haben im Stausse und Rio Cavado und im Atlantik gebadet. In Braga waren wir oft, haben sogar ein Fußballspiel im tollen Stadion gesehen. Guimaraes hat uns auch sehr gefallen. Sonnenuntergang in Bom Jesus war sensationell. Die Restaurantempfehlung "Pedra Verde" teilen wir. Cafesinho mit Pasteis de Nata ging immer und überall. Une maison où il fait bon vivre dans un ecrin de verdure

Un petit havre de paix. Une maison très bien pensée et agencée où il fait bon vivre, pour passer d'agréables vacances et découvrir cette très belle region du Portugal. L' acces est facile. Susana et Gloria, les hôtes, sont tres gentilles et disponibles. Nous avons apprécié la piscine, la table de ping pong, le babby foot, les petits dejeuners et autres repas en terrasse, les couchers de soleil... La maison est nichée dans un petit ecrin de verdure. Merci Gloria et Susana de nous faire profiter de ce bel environnement.

Lovely house with a beautiful garden

We had a really happy stay at this lovely property. The location is good, you can walk down to the river in 10 mins, and the area is so peaceful. The pool was enjoyed by us all as were the stunning views. Of particular note is the interesting garden which is filled with all kinds of plants and fruit trees. We had fun playing table football and bat and ball in the pool. Gloria was a very attentive and kind hostess who was always available to help us. I highly recommend this property to anyone.

Ein wunderbares Zuhause

Wir (2 Erwachsen und drei Kinder im Alter von 12, 14 und 16) waren 3 Wochen im Juli im CASA DIKITARU und haben uns von Anfang an alle sehr wohl gefühlt. Alles ist noch viel schöner als auf den Fotos und das Haus ist sehr gepflegt, sauber und schön hell. Das Haus bietet viel Platz und viele Dinge sind automatisiert (Rolläden, Pool, Licht etc.). Draußen gibt es eine Vielzahl von Plätzen zu entdecken und man findet auch bei Hitze immer einen schönen schattigen Platz. Ein wunderbarer Garten mit ausgeklügelter Bewässerung umgibt das Haus. Die Lage ist ruhig und man sitzt mitten in der wunderbaren Natur. Der Pool ist komfortabel angelegt und eine tolle Gelegenheiten sich nach einer Wanderung abzukühlen. Das war nicht nur bei den Kindern beliebt und man muss dazu sagen, dass er nahezu täglich gereinigt wurde. Die Tischtennisplatte und der Kicker sind in einwandfreiem Zustand und waren bei den Kindern immer für eine Abwechslung gut. Die Küche haben wir viel genutzt und sie ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Vom Haus aus lässt sich der Nationalpark Peneda-Gerês sehr gut erkunden, bis zur Atlantikküste sind es etwa eine Stunde Autofahrt und auch das haben wir genutzt. Braga und Porto sind lohnende Ziel, gut zu erreichen und auch das Douro-Tal (zu empfehlen: Passadiços do Paiva durch die Serra da Freita) ist erreichbar und einen Tagesausflug wert. Nach unseren Wanderungen und Ausflügen war es immer wieder eine Wohltat "nach Hause" zu kommen, in den Pool zu springen und auf der Terrasse zu sitzen und den Sonnenuntergang zu bewundern, wir haben sogar den Kometen Neowise ohne Probleme und ohne störende Lichter bewundern können. Gloria hat uns sehr nett willkommen geheißen, wir haben uns über das Begrüßungspaket und auch das Abschiedsgeschenk sehr gefreut und man hat gemerkt, dass Sie alles für unser Bestes vorbereitet hatte und Sie war immer ansprechbar. Alles war hervorragend organisiert, die notwendigen Prozesse rund um Corona waren für uns perfekt und überhaupt nicht störend und somit für uns als 5köpfige Familie sehr gut gelöst. Es war ein rundum gelungener Urlaub in einem perfekten und gemütlichen Ferienhaus. Wir haben Portugal nach unseren Erfahrungen in Madeira und auf den Azoren noch mal auf eine ganz besondere Weise kennenglernt und können den Norden von Portugal somit auf jeden Fall empfehlen.

A casa perfeita para umas férias na serra

A casa ideal para umas férias com amigos ou família. Está perto das prinicipais atrações do PNPG, mas é tão agradável que dá vontade de nunca sair. Destaco a cozinha bem equipada, a privacidade da propriedade, a zona exterior, onde está a piscina, a zona de churrasco, a mesa de pedra, os matrecos e a mesa de ping-pong. A vista é muito bonita e permite ver os mais bonitos pores-do-sol. A casa está extremamente bem tratada e, mesmo a ausência de algumas peças de decoração - devido às atuais medidas de segurança - não lhe retira o encanto. Junto ao portão há espaço suficiente para estacionar quatro carros, sem problema. A anfitriã é muito acessível e simpática, fazendo questão de saber se está tudo bem e se não precisamos de nada. Repetiria a experiência.

This house has always been our family’s weekend and holiday getaway. Since work life keeps us busy in Porto (about 1 hour away), we can’t visit as often as before — so we decided to open the doors to guests from around the world.

It’s a quiet place with a nice garden, a pool, and stunning views. Perfect for resting and recharging, but also great for exploring northern Portugal: Braga, Guimarães, Ponte de Lima, Viana do Castelo, and Porto are all within easy reach.
