About this property

Spectacular views from rooms, deck & hot tub. Walk to historic downtown Basalt!

A lovely lodge perched high above charming Basalt village, overlooking the confluence of the gold medal Frying Pan and Roaring Fork Rivers, with beautiful views of 13,000 foot Mt. Sopris to the west and the Roaring Fork Valley to the south. The Lodge has four lovely bedrooms and sleeps 10. The kitchen is well-appointed with a Viking range for those who love to cook at home, but if not, a handful of restaurants serve hearty and fancy fare in Basalt, a 2 minute drive or a healthy stroll down the mountain. The wrap-around deck provides glorious views, and southwestern exposure means bright sun all day and spectacular sunsets in the eve. The Lodge backs up to the White Mountain National Forest, which is laced with hiking trails, and it is located minutes away from some of the best trout fishing in Colorado, and 20 minutes from the Aspen/Snowmass ski mountains and the Aspen Airport. Amenities include hot tub, heated garage, gas fire place, wifi, wall mounted TV screens, fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer and grill.

About the host

Hosted by Betina & Bill Infante

Host profile image
Bill & Betina own the Roaring Fork Valley Lodge. After living and working overseas for years, we found our dream home in Basalt. We love everything about Basalt and the Roaring Fork Valley. We still travel to Mongolia several months out of the year, and thus we are opening our home to guests during those months.

Why they chose this property

The lodge is a magical place with spectacular views of the valley and stunning Mount Sopris. It's a private and serene place in the Basalt Highlands, yet only a healthy stroll to historic downtown Basalt, and the gold medal Roaring Fork and Frying Pan rivers. Our property hosts the trail head for one of many hikes in the White Mountain National Forest. There is nothing like waking up at the lodge!

What makes this property unique

From the lodge you have access to almost any activity you can dream of. The skiing in the winter is fabulous. During any other season, you can fly fish, bike, hike, climb, sail, kayak, raft, tennis, golf or just enjoy the scenery. Every year is full of events and festivals: World Cup skiing in Dec, X Games in Jan, Food & Wine Festival in June, World Pro Bike racing in July, Jazz Festival in June, and the Aspen Music Festival throughout the summer. And then, there is the infamous Ideas Fest in June and July. It's truly endless fun, culture and the great outdoors all in one valley.
