About this property

Luxury cabin next to charming goat farm sanctuary!

Our three bedroom/three full bathroom luxury countryside cabin is situated next to the Goat Conspiracy Sanctuary, surrounded by 46 acres of gentle pasture, home to 117 goats and a hearty flock of over 100 chickens.
Our luxury cabin is perfect for a honeymoon or a getaway for any individual, couple or group of friends. We welcome you to the Goat Conspiracy Cabin to experience the peace, calm and even excitement that staying at our beautiful home on our farm can bring you.
The space
Inside our three-bedroom, three full bathroom cabin, modern meets rustic. The living room provides a cozy place to settle in for conversation or a book by the fireplace. Our fully equipped kitchen opens to the dining room with a nice view of the farm and photographs by talented local nature photographer, Steve Cox.

Our master bedroom suite is truly magnificent. The bedroom has a king-sized bed, cathedral ceilings, a walk in closet and large ceiling fans; plenty of windows allow you to wake up gently to natural light if you so choose. The bedroom walls are hung with a stunning fiber art piece by Martina Celerin (titled so appropriately, “A Walk in the Woods”). The master bathroom includes both a corner Jacuzzi with windows overlooking our fields on both sides and a spacious full tiled double shower.

Climb the staircase to the upstairs loft, separated into a larger bedroom area with three twin beds and an adjoining yet separate area, stocked with floor pillows, yoga mats and Pilates ball that can be used as a tranquil meditation or yoga studio as well as a futon couch to accommodate two more potential sleepers.

For larger groups, there is another closed bedroom with a king-sized bed on the main floor.

Relax in comfortable patio furniture, our double hammock or settle into the porch swing on the large front deck that overlooks acres and acres of pasture and our tranquil pond. Or have dinner on the back deck overlooking gently sloped pasture leading to the Salt Creek. Here at the Goat Conspiracy, you are just a short walk to hiking, biking, kayaking and canoeing.

Check out time is 11:00 am.

High School Fishing Tournament

The house worked perfectly for 2 adults and 4 teens competing in fishing tournaments at Lake Monroe. Teens loved the pond. Plenty of land for the trucks and boats. House was very clean and well stocked and everything was as advertised. House has a unique layout. Hosts were very responsive. We will definitely book again for another tournament.

Quick Weekend Getaway

Our book club stayed here for a weekend away and it was a great time. The cabin was nice and I highly recommend scheduling a tour at the goat sanctuary. It was a highlight of our weekend.

Fantastic

Our family really enjoyed our stay here. The cabin had more than enough space for our family. Great location, we really enjoyed watching the goats from our windows. We did tour the goat sanctuary next door, highly recommend to anyone who loves animals. Our kids loved playing all the games in the cabin. The fireplace made it nice and cozy. Also, that master suite is incredible. Would definitely stay in this cabin again!

Lovely stay in rural America

We enjoyed our quick winter visit at this updated cabin. We were able to disconnect from the world and take some time for ourselves in nature. It was extremely cold while we were there so we didn’t get to enjoy the outdoors as much as we would have liked but were able to read our books and cozy up by the easy to operate gas fireplace. This sustainable home had all we needed with a special welcoming touch at our arrival which was so kind! Given the extreme temps the house was very cold upon arrival and it took almost 12 hours to get up to 65 degrees and the unique floor plan did seem to limit airflow from the front to the back of the house . I imagine the lovely vaulted ceilings and ample fans would help distribute air in the summer heat.A few well placed night lights would be a nice touch for families traveling with young children given the darkness of the house at night.Check in and out was super easy and we would stay here again- but likely in spring when we could open windows and not rely on the central HVAC system. A lovely home on a lovely farm!

Unplug and relax

It was truly like home away from home but without all of our daily responsibilities. Absolutely the most perfect distance to get to Nashville for shopping, Brown County State Park for hiking and the other scenic drives that we wanted to do to take in the fall colors.

Nice but not so nice

The house was beautiful must not be rented out often as it was infested with flies that were mainly trapped by traps in the windows but that didn’t stop the dead flies from falling on the floor and within the beds throughout our stay. The property is also listed as having a hot tub within the VRBO website one filtering for properties that have hot tubs. The house did not have hot tub.

Romantic escape and cozy cabin!

Exquisite log cabin with modern day comforts. Absolutely wonderful romantic escape or great for a family vacation as well! We enjoyed seeing deer grazing in the meadow behind the cabin several times.

Wonderful, clean and fun stay

We loved this home. The peacefulness, the bunnies, deer, goats and chickens. The pond has beautiful lilly pads all over it. The house has so many games for kids. Many movies to choose from with a stocked kitchen that is better than we have ever had. We will definitely stay here again. The goats were so friendly and came when we called them. You can see them right out in the field behind the house. Deer just crossing through the yard. We really didn’t want to leave! Very nice people that run it!❤️❤️❤️ you and your family will have an amazing time if you stay here.

2nd time -- amazing log cabin

Great family vacation spot. Lots to do in the surrounding area but the kids enjoyed the cabin and wanted to spend more time there. Actually there were tears when it was time to go. Such a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of life. We will be back for sure.

Peaceful Retreat

Absolutely a luxury cabin! Beautiful decor! Loved the rustic meets contemporary feel. The gifts of wine, homemade soaps, farm fresh eggs, granola, & coffee were unexpected & very much appreciated. The tour of the goat farm & chicken shanty town was a blast. I would definitely recommend & hopefully return!

Easy like Sunday morning

Great place. Easy, simple, elegant and peaceful. The cabin was in tip top shape, clean, and welcoming. The porch and the views that it provided made the weekend most enjoyable an relaxing. Nicole went out of her way to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable. Providing local suggestions and recommendations, and just being over all friendly and nice. When a weekend in the near future warrants a get-a-way, this will be on top of our list.

Wonderful + Scenic Property!

Our family of 5 stayed at this beautiful property while visiting our eldest son at college. It is truly a wonderful and peaceful spot with great views. The expansive front porch is a great place to relax and listen to nature. The pond in front is a fun little spot to spend some time fishing. We had a wonderful tour by Nicole of our neighboring goats. They were very fun + cute, it was a great experience. The house is large and clean and better than pictured with great local artesian details thru out. The beds are very comfortable and the upper loft area was large, perfect for kids and filled with fun games. Nicole was great and was available to answer any questions we had and provide the tour of the cute goats. We are defiantly planning to come back and stay again soon!

Beautiful place between Bloomington and Nashville

We truly enjoyed our stay at this spacious and beautiful cabin on a quaint goat farm. Loved the smell of fresh cedar every time we walked in. This could be a positive or negative but the owners are very clear there is no wifi. There also is very poor signal for Verizon (back porch is best location if needing to access). But to us this was a positive as we have 4 teen boys and disconnecting can be a challenge! Loved the farm fresh eggs, goat milk soap, and other samples of local food and art (displayed in the home). I'm sure we'll be back!

Best house we've stayed at yet. Goats were a perk , too

Nicole was so incredible and accommodating. Property is exactly as pictures only bigger live!. The master bedroom and bathroom were bigger than the downstairs of my own home. Nicole left a beautiful basket of goat soap , wine and other goodies for us. It is a working farm so you can't walk around with goats unless Nicole is available to give a tour and I am so glad she was!!!. Baby goats were so cute. Loved the adult goats too. Great to sit in the porch and watch fireflies while listening to goats and cows. About 15 minutes to Bloomington and 15 minutes to Nashville. So nicely located. Definitely would stay again!!

Huge Cabin, Super Nice, Amazing Experience!

Fantastic experience! The cabin is even bigger than it appears in photos. We had a group of 4 (2 couples), but it would have been perfect for additional people or kids since there's a cool loft with a bathroom. They had a wonderful welcome basket waiting for us full of organic goodies. It's a plus that they're eco-conscious and have recycling, including for glass. The cabin is private and amazing. The decor is tastefully done, with local artwork throughout. It was nice to have a fully stocked kitchen of pots/pans/glassware/coffee maker. We loved that the fireplace starts with the push of a button. The master bed/bath/shower are stunning. Seriously. The beds are comfortable and bedding was soft and felt luxurious. It was too cold to kayak, but it's nice you could do that from the property. We also liked there's a 3 car garage you just pull in so if it's cold or raining, you have direct access to the house and just walk up the stairs. There's a washer/dryer with organic detergents. There's also iron/ironing board/hairdryer etc. I loved the spacious closet and even used the scarf hanger. And, similar to the closet in the movie "Overboard", make sure and check out the awesome rotating handy-work in the kitchen pantry area. I wish I had that at home! The location was perfect since we could get to Nashville and Bloomington easily! It's also super easy to get to Brown County State Park. Perfect location to take in the best sights/events for the area. We also took Nicole up on a visit to the goat farm so it was nice to meet our cute 4-legged neighbors and load up on goat milk soap. (It lathers sooo great and feels really clean.) We did watch a movie on dvd, but I'd suggest bringing your own movies (no blue rays) should you opt to watch a family movie. They had a selection, but we could only agree on one we wanted to watch when we settled in for our evenings with a fire and some adult beverages. There's also board games upstairs. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and highly recommend this cabin. The owners can help you super fast if you need anything, the cabin is cozy and beautiful, and it's very quiet, relaxing, and peaceful. If we would have done anything differently, we would have scheduled an extra day just to hang out and enjoy the cabin more!

Thankful Thanksgiving

My partner and I decided months ago that we wanted to getaway during Thanksgiving. Our criteria included a beautiful cabin in the woods that had everything we could ever want and need. This cabin home exceeded our expectations. Every amenity, every piece of art, the majestic layout of the master bathroom and bath were everything we hoped for. The story behind this farmstead and cabin is inspiring. Nicole provided excellent communication prior to and throughout our stay. We will return to this beautiful space again. Without hesitation, I recommend all (couples, families, friends) check out this space for a delightful getaway.

Heaven in Indiana

This property was the best experience I have ever had with any of the rentals I have used. The property owners were very hands on and personable. They felt like family. We are planning a return trip to this magnificent property. The goats and chickens were a daily fun for us to watch and pet. This property is a must.

Beautiful and Peaceful Cabin

This cabin is awesome! I spent the weekend with my dad and brother and we were very happy with our pick. We caught fish in the pond, grilled steaks on the grill, and enjoyed some activities nearby. The cabin is spacious, clean, and has everything you need. You'll definitely want to spend some time in the morning and evening on the covered porch enjoying the views and sounds of nature.

We plan on coming back to The Goat Conspiracy

Our family had a great time during our stay. We enjoyed waking up to watching the chickens running around and the goats playing while waiting for feeding time. We also very much enjoyed fishing in the pond. My 11-year-old son caught a large bass and it happened to be the biggest fish he has ever caught. The cabin is spacious and beautiful. We enjoyed using the kitchen and had a bit of a birthday celebration for my mother in law. We also enjoyed running into the shops in Nashville so she could do a little shopping. Nicole was very helpful and responsive when we had a question and left a very nice gift basket on the counter for our arrival. Overall, I couldn't recommend The Goat Conspiracy more. It is wonderful place to get away and relax.

Weekend with the Goats

We spent a long weekend on this amazing property. A wonderful retreat with all you could ever need. We enjoyed the fresh air, the goats and chickens. The dogs made us feel right at home. Nicole and Mark were wonderful and left a delicious care package. The master suite and bathroom were icing on the cake for us. The property is perfectly located equally between Bloomington and Nashville which was very convenient. We will return when we want to unwind and relax down the road.

Absolutely ideal - the cabin, the farm, the amenities...

The Goat Sanctuary cabin was the ideal destination for our family get together - with a son at IU and two other adult children, the cabin provided the perfect place for us to reconnect. We spent many hours by the fireplace catching up, playing board games and watching movies. The cabin is spacious, and the kitchen was appointed with everything we needed to feed a large group. The entire weekend was the most memorable of all we've spent in the Bloomington area. Looking forward to our next trip to Bloomington and more time spent at the cabin!

So relaxing!

My friends and I came up for a birthday "girls" weekend and had the best time. The cabin is huge and on amazing land - the pictures do not begin to show the real beauty. We took advantage of the offered farm tour and enjoyed learning about all the different four-legged residents! I would highly recommend this spot for a special place to "get away from it all."

We are four friends who decided to take a new life direction and start a goat farm in southern Indiana. We came across a 46 acre property with two barns, a pond and a beautiful cabin, which we knew immediately was the place we had been talking about all along as we dreamed about starting our farm.
